Can someone tell me if the literal DVD Set inside of the Collector's Edition Gift Set is sealed? My story is this. My friend is a fan of Disney and I wanted to get her the DVD. She only wants the DVD. But, I want to purchase the Gift Set, give her the copy from that, and put my copy (of the DVDs) in the Gift Set. Thanks :)

Barty thanks for the photos, they are great ¡¡¡
I have one question, what scene of the movie you got on the film frame?

Are giftsets really worth the extra 10 or 15 dollars? It looks like they don't give you extra discs, just like books and paper :(

The Cinderella Gift Set is Awesome!

I have not gazed upon it yet, but I have seen a picture of it on part of the DVD's packaging and believe that the gift set's cel is of the scene where Cinderella's dress transforms while surrounded by fairy dust. I may be posting a picture of it in times to come...

Gift set's are worth the money. In this gift set you get a book with pictures from the films, pictures of concept art, and pictures of the film in production. In some of the pictures, you get to see the different people who worked on the film, from the voices of the characters to the animators who brought the movie to magical life, and get to read their quotes in the books's text. The book is very informative. You get 8 character sketches signed by some Disney animators. You get a film frame from the movie. And you get it all with the DVD. It's a fantastic gift set. If you like artwork, and Cinderella is one of your favorite films, this gift set is for you!

I would have preferred an extra disc than a book.

Giftsets vary according to the studio releasing it. The Showgirls giftset comes with shotglasses and playing cards, among other things, whereas LOTR gift sets come with collectible sculpture things, a bonus DVD (I think about the music), and a couple other things. Disney just happens to release giftsets with "books and paper".

The easiest answer Alan is:

Gift Sets are worth it if you're a fan of that particular movie.

I, of course, have the Gift Set for Aladdin but I don't care/want any other Disney one.

Gift Sets are more like Collector's items, with a gorgeous box packaging, sketches made by the animators, film senytipe, etc.
So yeah, it's worth the extra money if either you're a Disney collector and even if it's not your'favortie Disney movie you'll buy it anyway for your collection, or if you like the particular movie whose Gift Set is released.

Yes, the DVD itself is sealed in the Gift Set. There's a sticker on the back of the slipcover that says "NOT FOR INDIVIDUAL SALE" to designate it as a Gift Set DVD, but all you have to do is remove that.

Hehe; I did that with Aladdin. I bought the DVD by itself, and then when I got the Gift Set, I gave my brother the nice sealed never-watched copy from the set and stored the copy I already had in the set box. :)

Thank you so much Ariellen!! No one answered my question before! Someone said that I wanted to give my friend the scratched disks :? , which was exactly what I didn't want. Her party is on Sunday and she didn't want the Gift Set, so I would take the sealed copy from the GS and give that to her. Then, I would put my opened copy that I bought October 4th into the set, and keep it for me. Thanks again !

First of all, Barty said "note that I did not make those images" above the pictures, but the "Complete 10th Series" has been out since 2004 in Region 2. It's just a different region.

You are most welcome! Like I said...I completely understand what you are trying to do here (or more importantly, what you are trying to avoid doing, aka giving a used copy), having done the same thing myself. :)

Its the same DVD. There isn't more discs in the gift set. The gift set has just the normal DVD plus books and stuff.
