Very useful post here. I just followed it and there's a Gamestop around be that apparently has 1-3 in stock. I printed out directions, I think I'm going to go looking tomorrow.

Thanks again! 8)

Just so you know, the listings are current as of the night before (ie they are updated each night when they close to say what they have in stock). I had checked and there was a Snow White at a GS near me and I called at 2pm and they had already sold it. When I actually got my SW I had checked the night before and went first thing the next morning!

Goodluck, I hope you get it!

I've found a GS near me that had SW, Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan in, I haven't gone to check, but being as impatient as ever, I ended up bidding on Snow White and Sleeping Beauty off ebay, being a careful buyer, I'm almost certain they aren't bootlegs either, they better not be.. I paid $20 for Sleeping Beauty, $25 for Snow White.

I did look at gamestop, and perhaps it depends on the area of the store, but ALOT of the cases, and boxes looked like they were thrashed. For some reason I doubt I'd find a nice case near me... (and that's one of the factors I take into account)

That's the big problem with used DVDs (along with scratches). Former owners don't take much care of the cases, and I often wonder how exactly it gets to look as bad as some of them do. I remember back in 2002 or so, there was a used SW at GameStop for $16.99, but the case was horrible, so I didn't pick it up. I'm so glad I got it when I did (like a few weeks ago), because the case (along with several other Disney DVDs I got used) was in excellent condition!

Same here my Snow White was almost perfect, but the Beauty and the Beast I found this week was horrible. Light scratches on the discs, holes in the case, and even hair stuck on some glue on the case. It was horrible. I opened the case and the insert was yellowed on the edges and it smelled like a room full of smoke. I guess whoever had this let their dog chew on it and smoked a lot. I didn't buy it either.

I remember once finding a Beauty and the Beast at a Gamestop and it had no slipcover, the case artwork looked like it was taken out, chewed up, and put back in, and the actual case looked like someone put stickers on it and pulled them all off badly. I didn't buy it, and I was almost afraid to ask to see the discs, expecting them to be cracked somewhere... It was priced at $19.99, though I doubt anyone would want it in that condition.

Ugh. I went to the store to no dice. I didn't find it there. Plus the two Gamestops that said they had it, their DVD section was a mess. I looked over a few times, but it was a mess. :x

On Friday my friend flew in to visit and gave me the B&tB she picked up for me. It looked BRAND NEW. The inserts were perfect, the discs looked like they had never been played and the slipcover was even in better condition than I've seen on DVDs in stores!!!

I have however seen other dvds in horrid condition. This is why when I called I asked if the discs and cases were in good condition before I had my friend pick them up. My SW was in ok but not amazing condition. Did still contain all inserts but case was a little "buffed" looking. (hard to explain it).

that's really cool that you got Snow White. I just checked the gamestop website and the GameStop near me has Treasure Planet preowned.........but I think I'd rather have it brand new sealed.....but at least I know they have at least one copy. :)

I got BATB the day it came out. ;) And Snow white when my dad got me a new harddrive addition to my old computer. Snow White is the BEST Platinum DVD just because of the packaging, I think ;).

Think I know what you mean. Like how the TV Guide on the coffee table has been perused through and worn out, though still in good condition.

Maybe you should be careful buying a certain DVD at a number of places such as thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales, etc. I go there every weekend to find some stuff that I don't have. If you find a DVD that is scratch, don't buy it. Certain DVD's are in perfect condition as some others do have any scratches and marks. Be careful.

Well you can see the DVD before you buy it and with DVDs that would cost an arm and a leg to get brand new on ebay, I'd prefer a DVD that has scratches and works perfectly than not having one at all. Gamestop also has the guarantee that it will play so you can always return it. OR get a new one through Disney's replacement program.

Different strokes for different folks.

And Gamestop isn't considered a thrift store.

I got it!

Finally I caved and just bought a used one at Amazon.com and the copy came in today! Perfect condition, slip cover, both discs, and even the inside booklet. I'm really excited because since I missed when it was initially in stores, it was always a little thing that annoyed me.

But I got it! 8)

The case is perfect, and it came with all inserts and ads. I took it up to the counter and the guy working there got the DVDs for me. Again they were perfect, not a scratch at all. I have never gotten a used DVD in this shape, it honestly looks like someone just opened it and then traded it in.

Anyway sorry for rambling, but I'm still in shock that I found this DVD. It was only $16.99 as well.

I haven't seen this movie in at least 10 years, so tonight will be a treat to finally see this again.
Don't you love GameStop? Most of their used DVDs are always in such perfect condition! Like you, I found my copy of SW there, in the same condition you found it in, inserts and all. Also got BATB, Tarzan CE, and Peter Pan SE at GameStop when I found SW there.

You're lucky, escapay. At the two gamestops around me, they only have crap lion king 1.5 as the only disney movie. I checked on both gamestop stores to see if they had any hidden gems like tarzan CE, but they didn't. I'm only forced to buy it for 30-50 bucks on amazon marketplace.
