I always said Disney's Little Mermaid told little girls they can get their way by not listening to your parents. Think about it.
"Ariel, don't go to the surface."
She goes to the surface.
"Ariel, you can't love a human, he'll kill you, now let me destroy all your human things"
She swims away and becomes human.
"Oh, look, she does love him, here, you can be human."
Ariel is human again, marries the prince, and gets her way. And she does so by going against all her father's wishes. The entire series was like that too. "No, you can't have that whale, no you can't ride that seahorse, no you can go to Eelectric City, no, you can't have human things, no you can't let a sea monster live here."...No matter what, she NEVER listened to him, but at the end, her father was always looked wrong and she looked always right.

My favorite would have to be Jasmine. I really like her spirit and as I have said before she gets to wear sweats and look good in them!

lol, thats a reason to like anybody
I don't really have a clear favourite *between ariel belle n meg*, but i don't like snow white, she seemed a bit empty to me, not much personality, plus, her laugh annoys me lol, the best prince is Eric though, the other (born) princes all look the same

Well, the reason for that is, her father was racist. He hated humans. He thought they were heartless and "incapable of love." Obviously, since WE are the audience, he's shown as wrong. I think nearly being killed by a witch the size of a mountain with a pitchfork is lesson enough. In the end, Ariel broke the borders between two races. Humans thought of the merfolk as fairy tales and believed them fiction. The merfolk thought all humans were evil and that they were to stay away from them. If that's a bad lesson, disobeying a father who's wrong, then I don't think I would've cared to see the "good" lesson.
I certainly wouldn't follow my father's rules against another race if he were racist. Things like "Blacks are evil!" or "Mexicans are the end of the country!" just don't appeal to me. In fact, the whole movie was about telling you that your parents aren't always right. They may only mean good for you, but sometimes you just have to grow up and live life for yourself to know the truth.

I guess I'm gonna have to say my absolute favorite would be Mulan.. but that could just be becasue I really really like that movie, and I just watched it. I also really like Ariel and Aurora (though I've always called her Sleeping Beauty, haha).
But as someone said, I'm not too fond of them when they're "lumped" together.
