That is insanely awesome! I'm with you, dude...I definitely have the collector's mentalitity, even if it seems ridiculous to some...but there is some kind of psychological satisfaction in the completeness of it. So that's rad....and I still dream that some day I too will own all 5 versions of A Bug's Life!

I have the following on DVD:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Platinum Edition
Bambi: Platinum Edition
Fun and Fancy Free: Gold Classics Collection
Alice in Wonderland: Masterpiece Edition
Peter Pan: Special Edition
Sleeping Beauty: Special Edition
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: 25th Anniversary Edition
Beauty and the Beast: Platinum Edition
Aladdin: Platinum Edition
The Lion King: Platinum Edition
Pocahontas: 10th Anniversary Edition
Mulan: Special Edition
Tarzan: Collector's Edition
The Fantasia Anthology
The Emperor's New Groove: Collector's Edition
Atlantis: The Lost Empire: Collector's Edition
Lilo & Stitch
Treasure Planet
Brother Bear: Special Edition
Home on the Range

Films I need (red means I know it's coming out in a better edition, blue means it's rumored to be coming):

Pinocchio
Dumbo
Saludos Amigos
The Three Caballeros
Make Mine Music
Melody Time
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Cinderella
Lady and the Tramp
One Hundred and One Dalmatians

The Sword in the Stone
The Jungle Book
The Aristocats
Robin Hood
The Rescuers
The Fox and the Hound
The Black Cauldron
The Great Mouse Detective
Oliver & Company
The Little Mermaid
The Rescuers Down Under
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Hercules

I'm satisfied with my Fantasia Anthology, Sleeping Beauty, Tarzan, and Emperor's New Groove sets, so I won't be pick up the reissues of those (though, of course, that could always change). I would upgrade all of my single discs, though, such as Pooh and Peter Pan if/when SEs are released. That's really the only reason my Disney animated collection isn't bigger. I only purchase 2-Disc sets and new releases. Anything else (even the new releases I buy like Home on the Range) are fair game for SE treatment. Between both my DVD and VHS collections, though, the only Disney movies I'm missing are Dumbo and the anthologies listed in the 2nd list.

It felt so good to get all 5 versions of A Bug's Life ... Whenever I get a new DVD and place them on my shelf ... it feels real cool ...

It is an expensive hobby ... but one that I thoroughly enjoy doing.

I have 30 of the animated classics (I think) including all of the Platinum Editions to date. I think I am missing those from the 40's like Make Mine Music and Melody Time and quite a few from the 60's and 70's, like 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, Robin Hood, etc.

I don't own all the Animated Disney movies. I don't want to. I can just ...go on with life hoping a (so-called) better release will come soon. Yes, that's it. I'm not being rude about it, but I don't want to keep tracking every DVD on Ebay, Amazon, or search used Stores (like EB Games or similar to that).

*shrugs* I'm just weird. I mean, I do feel (sometimes) sad that I don't own all, but Patience gets rewarded. :) The only ones I really wanted to own were Beauty & the Beast and Aladdin..and I have those. <3

Okay, we own all Platinum Editions and Collector's Edition.
Sound Good for a Disney Fan? :p

Actually, ever since Ryan bought me the Fantasia Anthology, I've been contempt with the Disney DVDs we have. More is better, but I'm tight/greedy with money.

oh! Oh! I have to add this:

I have slipcovers with DVDs that should have slipcovers (I think..)
*sits back and wait for DaveWadding to post a comment. :p

Of the Walt era DVD's I have, I am missing:

Cinderella
Lady and the Tramp
101 Dalmatians
The Jungle Book (but I'll try and locate that one through the Amazon Marketplace)

With the imminent releases of Cinderella and LATT, this will bring my library closer to completion.

In my collection i have:

Dumbo
Bambi
Alice in wonderland
Sleeping Beauty
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
The lion King Trilogy
Pocahontas
The emperors new groove
Mulan
Tarzan
Brother Bear

And the pixar films.

I also have one treasure 'the silly symponies'

I'm hopefully getting L&S on Monday, and Cinderella when it comes out, which is a blind buy, as i've never seen it before, but hey, why not. I won't collect all the animated classics because i don't really like some, and i'd rather spend my money elsewhere, but i'm sure my collection will grow more and more over the coming years :D Especially with the release of some of my fave movies on platinum! :D

out of 44 animated classics, these are the ones that i don't have:

- Pinocchio
- Dumbo (there's a rumored 2-disc coming soon)
- Cinderella (coming out in Oct)
- Peter Pan
- Lady and the Tramp
- 101 Dalmatians
- The Jungle Book
- The Little Mermaid
- Emperor's New Groove (coming out in Oct)
- Lilo & Stitch (waiting for the 2-discs version)

i also have Tarzan: 2-Disc SE but its UK Version. I'll probably sell my copy ang get an R1 release just to be consistent.

are the hunchback of notre dame and hercules rumored to have a 2-discs version coming soon? i just purchased them and i can easily return it or should i just hold on to them?

i'm happy with my collection. :D

My main collection of Disney "Classics" is not on DVD but on laserdisc. It's complete up to the late 90s except Melody Time - I'm still looking for that on LD. I'm not very interested in a complete collection on DVD at this point - I've only got a good handful of titles from later years never available on LD and some of the older titles when I'm sure the DVD is a substantial improvement over the LD.

I have The Many Adventures one. You can get it from walmart.com. I just bought mine from Blockbuser (New) and when I opened it the disk was not in the little tray and it has some scratches, but plays fine. That still pisses me off though because that was 20 some odd dollars and that was the only one in the store.:(

Personally things are going great with my animated classics collection, seeing I've owned all of them for the longest time now. Most of them however are on VHS (From Snow White to Atlantis). The rest are on DVD. I also collect all the sequels and DTV's (not including the riduculus Pooh sequels) Right now I have only a few to go: Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas, The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue, Mulan II, Tarzan II, An Exteremly Goofy Movie, Piglett's Big Movie, and Pooh's Hephalump Movie.

The only movie I have not yet upgraded (from VHS to 2-disk DVD) is Bambi to Platimum Edition (which I hope to do soon). I do not plan on upgrading Lilo and Stitch at all.

I also have yet to upgrade Mary Poppins, and I have given up on collecting the treasures (even though I have 6 and really want the Reluctant Dragon)
