Excuse me while I express two radically different emotions:
1. Wow! This is excellent news! I'll definitely be picking up DuckTales, and Chip & Dale is a strong possibility, too. This makes the Little Mermaid rumor all the more reasonable since Disney really seems to be taking the plunge into TV shows on DVD.
2. WHY THE HECK ISN'T THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WINNIE THE POOH BEING RELEASED LIKE THIS?!?!
So, yeah, I'm excited for these releases, but annoyed that my favorite Disney animated show will probably be the one with the crappiest DVD treatment.

Awesome news! I will definitely be picking those two up in November.
They are my favorite shows from the Disney Afternoon.

AHA!!! See, I knew it!!! I was *just* saying it was a matter of time!
Since it's a box set, I'm thinking that the odds of them being in order is in our favor.
I hope that these will do well and that Darkwing will be among the next in line.

I remember those shows, but I don't think i'll be buying them...

...I was never a huge fan. But I am very excited that Disney is releasing them because it shows their interest in selling their older but modern TV series'. I CANT WAIT UNTIL THEY ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF "DINOSAURS"

Ditto, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this next year, perhaps. It would make perfect sense to release it alongside a Muppets release (perhaps Muppet Show S2?).

I wouldnt be suprised if Muppets S2 came out in Nov/Dec to be with the other Muppet releases.

Best news of the day. I grew up with these and will love to see both shows in all their DVD glory especially Duck Tales.
How big of a fan am I? I own the WDCC Scrooge McDuck swimming on coins statue.

Hopefully Tale Spin follows soon after.

It's weird. I was just watching my bootleg when I read that. lol I'll throw it out the day I get these two sets. It seems like Disney is matching up series with a common theme: Ducktales and Chip = Adventures. Maybe Gummi Bears and The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh will come out together as well?

Also, I hope the DVDs will not come out on a yearly basis like Gargoyles has. Each set will probably have 21 episodes (7 episodes per disk) This is seen on the Gargoyles Disks which have 7 episodes on one and then 6 on the next, but that was for the first season because there was an odd number so if there were more it would have been a complete 7.

This is amazing news, I was starting to think we'd never get any of these 80's cartoons on DVD

This is such awesome news I had to register to post here!
Awesome awesome.
One thing I want to say though, is that I hope they use the original airing versions like they did with Gargoyles, and not use the Toon Disney edit versions of all of these shows. I'm afraid they will, but not because they don't want to use them, but because they may not know of the existance of these versions anymore.
It would also be cool to see the original version of some of the edited C'n'D episodes from their original airings with extras, maybe with a disclaimer. But, we're lucky if we even get pre-DA edits.
Gargoyles is lucky because the creator is very active in the show's life and can say something about it. I dunno. I hope someone here on these forums are in the know enough to talk to someone at Disney about this issue.
The Gargoyles DVD was wonderful and I picked it up as soon as it came out. I want to do the same with these.

Welcome, Ashura, to the UltimateDisney Forums. I hope you have fun here.
I really do hope that these aren't edited. I HATE edited DVDs! I'm still happy about this though! I can't wait until cover art!

Thanks! I've totally lurked around here for about a year I guess. : ) You guys seem like great individuals and usually the info I read here is the most reliable on almost anything Disney. And also pretty professional seeing as it's all fans posting.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

Yay! ANOTHER DVD Happy Happy Birthday!
Last year I got Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas and now Disney is releasing Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers and Ducktales! Hooray! Hooray! I think I'll get Rescue Rangers because it's my more favorite of the two. Though I don't remember much of it even though I watched it all the time when it was still on broadcast tv. I think the one I remember best was the one where Fat Cat made a robot cat that functioned through video games. If a bad video game cartridge was put in, he's be a mean robot cat and a good cartridge made him good. That was a fun episode.
p.s. Thanks for the news Luke!
