I still consider my Disney laserdisc collection more important than my Disney DVD collection, so the LDs are hardly "obsolete" to me. But, admittedly, I wouldn't expect a lot of people to go get a LD player just for the Alice in Wonderland set. Although some might...

How sad that Disney missed out on some incredible opportunities with this DVD.

Yes it is sad that Disney missed a good opportunity but they may rerelease it somewhere down the road but i have the LD boxset that has all the missing material so i can wait. I dont pull them out often because they are so large and cumbersome but when i want to watch some of the other material i do.

I still want to get the ME DVD, because even with all the stuff that's missing, the stuff that's still there sounds wonderful. Plus it has a newly restored transfer.
Does anyone know if it starts with the blue Walt Disney Pictures logo and/or has the original RKO title card? This won't affect my decision to buy it, I'm just curious.

Hello. My name is Eduardo.
I didn't know about the missing content in Alice in Wonderland. But it's something I came to expect from Disney. Certainly, when Blu-ray comes along, Disney will release again all of its classics, including the Treasures. Did you know that the Silly Symphonies Treasures set doesn't contain all of the cartoon shorts that were released under that moniker ? New releases of the same title is the name of the game for many distributors, including Buena Vista. I live in Brazil. Here, the Cinderella DVD was released as a single disc edition with the price of a 2-disc one. Only now, in 2005, Buena Vista decided to release Tarzan SE, amazingly enough as a 2-disc set. We don't have in R4 Sleeping Beauty, for example. The disrespect towards the consumers and specially admirers of Disney films is something I can't understand. At the end, Disney is the only one to get tarnished by doing that.

I think we know - it's not even close. The Treasures set contains about half of the Silly Symphonies. Therefore we expect a volume two eventually.
