Why are you judging the movie as a whole or for being hyped when you're supposed to vote for the opening sequence only? Unfair.
Why are you considering everyone who votes for the thing you do not wish to win part of the "B crowd?" Like he said, some of us think the OPENING of TLK is overrated. I know I do. It may be a better movie overall, but the Hunchback's opening is more "dramatic, intense, epic or climatic."

Did you consider the "B crowd thing" as an offense. Well, I'm sorry it wasn't my intention

And that message wasn't for the Hunchback opening fans, it was for the "I'm sure Lion King will win so let me vote for the Hunchback for a change" ones. (No offense people, just trying to make a point here, please don't get mad at me.)
Hunchback's opening is more "dramatic, intense, epic or climatic." - that hurt me so much, lol.
"I'm not seeing this, I'm not seeing this" - Cogsworth, Beauty and the Beast.

That's a rather satisfying explanation, now that's a good reason, that's what I'm talking about.

That's it! PEOPLE ARE INSAINE!!!
The Lion King - The Circle of Life is better for several reasons:
1. The Hunchback scene was long, boring and the music I thought was really forgetable!
2. The Circle of Life was such a great song! I say BRAVO to Elton John and Tim Rice!
3. The animation was briliant. Some people will say, "Drawing Animals is nothing new for Disney" but it has never been as incredible as this!
4. Call me girly, but Simba was cute!
5. Overall The Circle of Life is my theory to why Lion King was a huge blockbuster. When people saw the trailer(which was just this scene) people blown away! They showed it EVERYWHERE!!! Including Superbowls! And people everywhere were talking about it!
6. COL inspired many people and is still remembered by many. And still will be 60 years later. Whose going to remember The Hunchback?
7. If Hunchback wins, I'll go insaine!

I'm sure it wasn't. That rolling eyes emoticon comforts me so.

That happens all the time. But I suppose if you can't think of a better reason, you shouldn't vote at all. I mean, didn't that happen in the Animated Movie Survivor? Everyone voted off all the "Fab Four" because they wanted a different winner from the norm., even if it wasn't really the best.
Hunchback's opening is more "dramatic, intense, epic or climatic." - that hurt me so much, lol.
Yeah, I can tell. You put it in italics.

Opinion

Opinion. I think it was awesome to, but I like Hunchback's a wee bit more.

And Hunchback's wasn't?

Random.

Now Fan, you know there was more to the movie than that!

I will.

Noooooo!
Face it, they're both great. It all comes down to which one people personally like more.

^^ Ummm, ok. This is what this is all about, our own personal opinion. Many agree and disagree. ^^
So is it a
fact that the Hunchback opening is the best or Stephen Schwartz is a great composer. I could do the same and quote somebody else's post and type
opinion, it's easy.

Opinion, see?
Something agreed

It was REALLY random, lol. Not a really convincing reason.

True true.

Yeah I know it's just opinions, but when I see the COL I see that this is what made audience see it. I'm not saying people only liked this scene, in fact many people loved the whole movie(including me) but COL is my theory why many people wanted to see it in the first place.
Now it is considered one of the most reconized scenes in cinema history.
I don't think The Hunchback did anything! In fact I didn't like the movie at all. During the whole movie I was rooting for Frollo!

Tell that to Krystal whose voting for Hunch just because she thought nobody else was going to vote for it!

I never thought it would be this tight.

I thought I was the only one who loved both almost equally!

Where's Luke and MMP when we need them! Save Lion King!

Sadly I can't vote. But: I think TLK could live without the opening scene, it did not bring the story onwards nor did the audience need to know what happened during it, it was just about pretty pictures. Hunchback's actually had something to do with the story, it was necessary to know what happened in the begining.

Umm, without the opening we wouldn't even know who Simba is! It might not progress the story, but it's called character developement, which is important just as much as progression is.

None of the characters develop during the scene, they just make their screen debut. By the Mufasa/Scar scene afterwards everything is explained.

I think there's more to CoL than "pretty pictures." It sets the whole theme of the movie, and it introduces the movie in a really dramatic way. The movie can live without it? I wonder how depressing it would be to hear:
"Life's not fair is it?" at the very beggining.
It's a majestic opening to a great film.

The only thing the opening did was show the lions as kings of the jungle (or savannah or whatever), which everyone always considers them to be anyway. The best part (to me) was when it showed Mufasa and Sarabi close to Simba. It was sweet. Otherwise, I couldn't see a bunch of animals that get eaten by lions standing in front of them and celebrating another being born.

Why are people being so negative.
Thumper- "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say nothing at all."
Cut the cr** with the movie, leave it alone. Ok sure, Hunchback is the better one, why not. HoND is so perfect, every scene is necessary, its music is the best ever done. Hail Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Why is everyone getting so mad around here? This is supposed to be a game. Everyone has their own opinions and these opening scenes are both excellent. Argueing about it won't make any difference. Don't try to make everyone think your favorite opening is the better one. And another thing, we're not rating the actual movie, just the opening sequence. Don't say The Lion King's opening was better because the movie would have been lost without it. That's basically a different argument.
