I found her character humorous though, even if it was at the detriment of the actress lol.

^ True. I spent quite a lot of time laughing during her scenes.

So, instead of introducing new fairytale characters, they're just remaking the old ones?

They have reached new levels of laziness and repetitiveness.
Dania Ramirez will, in fact, be playing Henry’s (Andrew J. West) wife, a.k.a the mother of Lucy (Alison Fernandez), as — wait for it — a new iteration of Cinderella.
Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis revealed that well see Jared Gilmore return as a young Henry when the season kicks off so viewers can see why he left home. “Henry’s the author of the first book, but he wants to go to the place where the happy ending isn’t written,” Kitsis says.
When he ventures to these new places, we’ll actually see different iterations of some of the characters we’ve come to know and love over the years. “There’s a Disney animated version of some movies and then there are live action version, and then there are some fairy tales that are told some countries and a different version in some others,” Kitsis adds. Hence Ramirez playing a different iteration of the character first played by Jessy Schram on the series.
“What’s interesting to us is that these books tell the stories, a lot of them about these classic characters, and as you know for the first six seasons we did twists and turns on them,” says Kitsis. “New books could have different versions of some stories and ways of looking at them that maybe we’ve seen before, maybe some new characters as well.”
“Dania Ramirez will be playing a different version of Cinderella,” Kitsis reveals. “If we remember Henry’s grandfather is Prince Charming [Josh Dallas], so we have the grandson of Prince Charming with a new Cinderella. We have a really fun take on the city and this new forest and we can’t wait to show everybody.”

Well, I am excited that Cinderella will now have a huge role on the show, but I don't like that she's being played by a different actress and being some different version of the character, and it's even weirder that Henry is going to marry his grandmother's old friend! Plus her dress is just ok, not as good as the one from the Once Upon a Time's original version.

Going by the ugly dress and poor actress, I can only guess this is their adaptation of Cinderella 2015.

^I liked the live action dress. But yeah this dress...dont like.
LOL! at their reasoning for reusing characters they've already done in the series.
Im convinced Disney has all the creators who work under their company attend seminars on the art of how to give BS excuses when you dont want to tell the truth. Reminds me of the kind of lame reasons WDAF gives for why they cant do a film in 2d animation.

Wow, I've lost even more interest in Season 7. I have another show during OUAT's new timeslot anyway, so definitely won't be watching it live anymore.

I just realized it would also be weird that Cinderella is no longer married to Prince Thomas? The style of dress and hair coupled with the writers saying there have been other versions of Cinderella make me wonder if they are trying to use the 2015 version of Cinderella.

This isn't the same Cinderella we've already met on the show (it's not a recasting). They're going with how often stories and fairy tales can repeat, especially Cinderella since almost every culture has had one.

According to
this,
Alice, and
Rapunzel will also be getting the rebooted character treatment.
Tiana is the only new Disney character that is being introduced this season (that we know of).
Have I mentioned how against I am of this whole idea about multiple versions of the same fairytale? There are literally hundreds and hundreds of characters from fairytales, folktales, myths, and legends and instead of introducing new ones on the show, they're just reusing the same ones. It's so unimaginative and unneeded and such a waste of an opportunity. Why should I care about a new Cinderella with a similar blue, puffy dress or a new Alice when an entire spin-off show was already dedicated to her?

I can't find it in me to care too much. I have lax interest in the reboot anyway, so I'm just passively following along. I doubt the new Cinderella or Alice will be better than the original takes, but I don't mind them re-doing Rapunzel. I'm at least excited about Tiana.

This idea of theirs confuses me so much. I guess I'll figure it out when I watch it?

Since Alice was never on the show and Rapunzel got such a shaft I kind of want to see them, but I gotta admit, it should be the way you want it.

I bet the Alice will be based off of the live-action version too. I was fine with their previous version of Alice and I didn't care for their version of Rapunzel but I have no love for the Disney one either. And I have no interest in Tiana either. So I'm starting to have even more reasons to not watch this season.

ABC released a

Scars by Boy Epic.

I'm not really a big fan of how this just sounds like an attempt to redo the first season. But I do like the idea of Lady Tremaine being the new villain. I always felt that some of the classic female Disney villains ended up not being portrayed so well because of all the focus on the Evil Queen (Ursula, Maleficent, Lady Tremaine, etc.) so it'll be nice to see her in a larger role. Is she the same actress who portrayed her last season during the Ella and Stepsisters episode?

Nope. This is a different Tremaine, like we have a different Cinderella.
JeanGreyForever wrote:But I do like the idea of Lady Tremaine being the new villain.
I'd rather they didn't rehash the same character but I'm OK with it. I think Drizella is going to be the breakout character that steals the show this season.

Oh got you. So she won't be called Lady Tremaine then. I thought there was enough resemblance from the picture so I assumed the original Cinderella's stepmother would be the villain.
I really loved Adelaide Kane from Reign so I'm glad that she will be in the show as Drizella. If I'm correct, the original Cinderella's stepsisters from Season 6 were not named Anastasia and Drizella so at least that part makes sense.

I think she will be called the same just like this new Cinderella is still called Cinderella. During the SDCC panel she was only referred to as Lady Tremaine by the creators.

Re-do with "new versions" of the old characters. Bad. Bigger roles for Cinderella and presumably all the characters from her story. I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! Perhaps the live-action version from 2015 is so beloved it sparked this!

Yes, you are correct, though what we know for sure is one stepsister was called Clorinda and we didn't know the other stepsister's name. I was dissapointed they didn't use the Anastasia from
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland as her stepsister which it looked like they originally intended.

The first
