The term generally used for the daughter of a Chief is Princess, as in Princess Tiger Lily, remember? Pocahontas is a princess, make no mistake about it.
Mulan isn't. But I like that she's included in the franchise. She just has that Disney Princess spirit, I think (well, as far as the 90's goes. I would argue that Mulan is more worthy of the title than say, Aurora).
Anyway....
I really like the little sketch of Rapunzel and Flynn back-to-back and poised to strike with frying pan and sword, respectively.

I can imagine Rapunzel saying,"Oh!This looks like a nice place."When she enters the tavern she'll think,"I wanna go home!"
Oh,I have a question for mawnck: Did Rapunzel feel uncomfortable in anyway through out the movie?I'm asking this question because I think that a child(especially a sheltered child) would feel uncomfortable in a
non-child friendly evironment.
EXCELLENT analysis there. At the risk of a bit of a spoiler (skip to the next paragraph NOW if this concerns you), did you know that you think a lot like Flynn?
Speaking of analysis, this flick definitely contains some psychodrama. Gothel is (to borrow someone else's description) a passive-aggressive b*tch, and R has been cooped up in that tower under G's care for 18 (or so) years, so R has some "issues" to work through. R's reactions are unpredictable, though, and that's part of the fun of the movie - seeing how she deals with each new challenge thrown at her and Flynn. I would think sheltered kids would especially enjoy this movie, since it's
partly about getting out of a sheltered environment and experiencing the world.
You never know what's going to freak out a kid though, and I'm sure there will be some kids very freaked out by various things in Tangled. But not the tavern scene. They'll LOVE that. I predict everybody will. Including the Best Song Oscar people.

Fine, throw in Tiger Lily and Eilonwy and everybody's cool.

I don't know about that. Tiger Lily has one line, and it's muffled by water in her mouth. We don't see enough of her to say she's make a good Disney Princess. Eilonwy, on the other hand, ought to be there, along with Kida. And since Mulan set the precedent for non-princesses in the line, then I nominate Esmeralda, Jessica, and Sally, too, just to name a few.
But I don't mind the line as it stands now. I think it works fairly well, even though Aurora is just dead weight.

There was a time not too long ago that Tinker Bell and Esmerelda were a part of the Disney Princess Franchise. They had dolls at the disney store and everything.
I feel like Meg was too.
The Disney Princess line is too big as it is, it should just stop while it's ahead.
To get back on topic...
Those new concept arts are freaking awesome!!!! I'm very happy we're getting new stuff to look at (i only wish we had more finished images).

Well, personally, I'd rather Rapunzel never go into the line and the franchise be dissolved, but I'd imagine that if Disney were smart enough, they'd wait a year or two after the movie's release to start marketing Rapunzel as a Disney Princess. I don't know if that's there plan, though.

Well, remember how last year Tiana stuff was being marketed under simply "The Princess and the Frog?" It was really only this year that I've started seeing on Disney Princess merch. She was like in a franchise of her own last year, and I'm guessing that that's what's happening with Rapunzel.
