They could easily be human-fied
That wouldn't solve the problem there is - this show is about characters from books and oral history and legends and folklore. None of it should come from video games (even video games from a movie) as the original source material.

New info on the musical episode.
EW can exclusively reveal that the upcoming hour will feature seven songs, including a big solo for Jennifer Morrison’s Emma Swan. “We’ll all so excited about it,” Morrison tells EW. “We’re all just listening to each other songs now trying to work out how the songs fit together and what the storyline is.”

Lana Parrilla will be among those belting a tune. After all, what would a musical Once episode be without a clash between the show’s original rivals — in the form of a grand (and royally entertaining) sing-off between the Evil Queen and the Charmings? Because I hear that is happening, folks.

New info on upcoming episodes.
Henry’s gig as the author kicks into overdrive, which makes some residents of Storybrooke nervous about what that means.
Source: http://ew.com/tv/2017/02/24/spoiler-roo ... blacklist/
Pinocchio (Eion Bailey) makes a triumphant return in the first episode back and plays a key part in helping Emma and Regina (Lana Parrilla) find their way back to Storybrooke. The reunion not only helps to restore Pinocchio's confidence in the wish realm, but restores Emma's faith that she can choose her own destiny once she returns to Storybrooke. The midseason premiere will build upon Emma and August's relationship and also reveal that they have had a connection for much longer than Emma (or we) ever realized. In fact, if it weren't for August, Emma may never have become the savior of Storybrooke.

When the ABC fairy tale drama returns on Sunday, the Outlaw Queen reunion will take a quick turn as the palace guards, led by a vengeful Prince Henry (Jared Gilmore), aim to make the Evil Queen pay.

“We have to find a way out, and we have several people after us because they all think Regina’s really the Evil Queen,” Morrison tells EW. “She’s sought out as being this terrible person, so now Henry is after her trying to kill her. The danger is the entire kingdom is after us, and we’re just trying to figure out how to get back out to stop this weirdness.”

Despite being hunted, Regina may not actually want to leave now that she’s seen Robin again. But this isn’t the Robin that OUAT fans remember — this version is not Robin Hood, but Robin of Locksley. “Regina’s dominated by her emotions most of the time, and seeing Robin really shook her up,” Parrilla says. “She’s in a position where she has to figure out what she’s going to do with that relationship, and even though he’s not real, she has questions and she needs them answered. One of them is, ‘Was Robin better off without her?’ That’s her quest in the winter premiere. There’s still a part of her that is really hopeful.”

But facing off against her son may prove more difficult for Regina. “Killing the Charmings, it wasn’t a real sacrifice for Regina,” Parrilla says. “She was really just trying to wake up Emma, but then when Henry comes forward, it’s a whole different ball game. No matter whether Henry’s real or not, it’s still her son, so she can’t even fathom the thought of hurting him on any level. I think the real danger for them is getting trapped there.”

It was just announced that Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner will be writing the songs for the musical episode. They cite Alan Menken as one of their influences.
Q: What artists do you find inspiring?

Alan Zachary & Michael Weiner: There are probably too many to name! In the world of theatre, we've both been inspired by artists like Howard Ashman, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, Sondheim.

"We actually started [planning] this around September," Kitsis explained to ET over the phone last Friday. "There are these two composers that we met, Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, who are big fans of the show, and ABC put us together with them because a musical is the one thing and the one request that fans have been asking for for six seasons."
Source: http://www.etonline.com/tv/211691_once_ ... _proposal/
Q: How did you pick songwriters Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner?

Adam Horowitz: They selected us. What happened is a about a year ago, Dawn Soler, who does music for ABC, called us up and said, “Are you guys thinking of doing a musical?” I said, “No. We’re not thinking of doing a musical.” She said, “You’ve got to meet these guys, they’re amazing.” We sat down with them and they were amazing and they were huge fans of the show. We hit it off immediately and it was early enough in the season, we were just starting Season 6, to think, “Oh, this episode would be the right place to do it.” We’ve been working with them since August or September and it’s been a great collaboration.

Tracks 1-6 and 8 contain music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, who also produced the songs, while the duo provide the lyrics for “Emma’s Theme,” teaming on music with OUAT composer Mark Isham.

Over the past few San Diego Comic-Cons, fans would line up and rally creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis to have their favorite Storybooke characters do what they’ve been born to do: sing in a Disney production. Songwriters Michael Weiner and Alan Zachary heard fans’ call, and lobbied their manager Richard Kraft to get them in the door at ABC, so they could pitch their concept for a musical episode. Horowitz and Kitsis had always made it known that musicals weren’t in their creative bandwidth. For some time, Weiner and Zachary had been looking for TV shows that could lend themselves to a musical episode. The duo, who have been a songwriting and screenwriting team since their high school days as drama jocks at Oakwood in North Hollywood, were lifelong fans of Disney musicals.

yes he got nose tortured  by Rumple and then later he produces the sketch of the Apprentice so they know what he looks like. He did share some nice brief moments with Emma and we got a jealousy scene with Hook so it wasnt too bad. :P

We'll be seeing a lot more of Gideon and the Black Fairy in the second part of the season.
Q: Gideon has returned as a fully grown adult. How much of his life with the Black Fairy are we going to see in the second half of the season?

Eddy Kitsis: You are going to get to see the origin story. You will see what happened from the moment that he was kidnapped from the Blue Fairy to when he arrived in Storybrooke. We are going to do a flashback episode where you can see Gideon literally grow up.

Adam Horowitz: What happened with the Black Fairy becomes really critical to the story going forward in the second half of the season.

^ Not really surprising since the Rumpel and Emma plots intersect with Gideon. I'm not sure about Gideon, but I did love the Black Fairy's actress, so I'm fine with it for now.

Too bad they couldn't have got Menken for the musical. I'm not sure what's going to happen with the show. It could end this Spring or get renewed, but if renewal means Morrison isn't on the show anymore it can go ahead and die. I can go without Rumbelle or Snowing, but Emma, Hook, and Regina are must's, imo.

It's not really a surprise because Gideon and the Black Fairy are obviously the big bad of this half of the season. Honestly, I'm not interested in any more of Rumple's relatives so I'm not looking forward to them much, but maybe we'll get a flashback to the Black Fairy's marriage with old Peter Pan. I'm assuming they were married that is.

The same characters you listed, are the only ones I care about too, along with Zelena. Although I probably won't care for Regina much while we rehash her romance with Robin Hood. Hope they keep him dead after this brief episode stint.

I liked the Robin-Regina interactions for the first time since season 3, I think. Although I couldn't help thinking Robin is Wish!Rumpel in disguise when he came to the Real World later than Emma and Regina. I'm expecting that to be a reveal in a couple of episodes.

Not excited about Gideon's actor. Bleh. For some reason, I have a hard time remembering the character's name. Might be because I picked up calling him Damian from another forum.

Our leads for the potential 7th season have been cast.

Once Upon a Time has tapped Alison Fernandez for a mysterious role in the upcoming season 6 finale, EW has learned exclusively. Details on her role are being kept under wraps, but TVLine recently reported that the ABC fairy tale drama was looking to cast two roles in the finale: a formerly hopeful-turned-cynical leading man and a mischievous 10-year-old.

Well with the skinny body, it is NOT Wreck-It Ralph and with the Latina heritage, that is not Robin either.

Some have speculated West might be playing an adult Henry. No idea about the girl though. Maybe they fast forward and we meet Emma's and Hook's daughter?

I liked Gideon. I love grown-up Pinocchio. I like Robin. He's so cute and his personality is good I think. I'm glad his real soul went into his wish self. I'm surprised he's back. I thought they eliminated him because fans wanted him gone. I'm glad he's back though.

About the possible re-boot, I think it sounds more plausible if the show is moving to Freeform as some in the fandom are speculating as a possibility. I'm not sure if I'd follow it though, since I imagine they'd drop just about everyone if that happened.
