I'll be glad to see Rumple leave. His character should have stayed dead after vanquishing Peter Pan or died from his coma after Emma became the Dark One. I wonder how they'll structure flashbacks though considering he basically pops up in almost every one and is tied to virtually every character in OUAT.
I can't see the show going past 7 seasons anyway, so Jennifer Morrison might stay till the end. Emma's one of the few characters I still care for so I would hate to see her go although I know many have been finding her stale ever since Hook came into the picture.

So, they're finally doing a musical episode. Based on how they're shoehorning it, sounds like the show might be done

It says nothing of the kind.
The way the fandom keeps looking at every little detail and screaming "It's cancelled!!" (half-cheering) right now is so annoying. If it's ending, they'll say so pretty soon.

I'm not cheering, it's just an observation with everything is going on. But now, Ginnifer is in a play in CA this summer. But, this could be before she's shooting the next season.

It sounds to me that, like Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle doesn't
really want to leave either. Could this be just a negotiating tactic? It seems that if the showrunners asked the main cast to stay, they'd all be willing to do so.
Following in the footsteps of fellow cast member Jennifer Morrison, Carlyle hasn't yet made up his mind either about season seven.
"By the end of this month, I'm going to hit a crossroads and I'm going to have to make some decisions. These decisions aren't just about my well-being anymore, it's about my family. I've been out in Vancouver, Canada for the last eight years. My children love it out there, they go to school there, they've got friends there. I really have to think about them most, more than I have to think about me. I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up still back there, but you never know."

Good. I feel Rumplestiltskin and Mr. Gold are integral to the show, just like Emma.

Unfortunately, Menken isn't involved with the musical episode. Such a waste of an opportunity.
Q: Are you and Alan writing the songs for the musical episode of Once Upon a Time?
Glenn Slater: Nope. But I'm really, really looking forward to hearing Karen David sing again!

Wow. Color me shocked. That would have been a treat. Who's doing it then?

Namely, the May finale will introduce a pair of guest stars, both of whom have the potential to join the ensemble as series regulars if the show moves forward. First up, the fantasy drama is casting a “strong yet vulnerable” leading man in his late 20s to mid-30s, a gent who was once optimistic and hopeful but now is a friendless, cynical recluse. That said, he still possesses a dormant, deep-seated spark of hope that waits for the right person to reignite it.
The other role being cast is a precocious 10-year-old with a “constant twinkle of mischief in her eye.” And though this girl comes from a broken home, those struggles have only made her stronger — something which will come in handy when darkness threatens “everything she holds dear.” And while the character breakdown notes that this lass “never lets the hard knocks of life get her down,” you would be wrong to guess that she is a certain little orphan named Annie.

WreckIt Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz?

Lolz my guess was a genderbent Emma and Henry or a grown-up Henry with a young Robin, but Ralph and Vanellope could actually work. Wouldn't be the strangest choice this show has made.

It's Storybrooke and all the lands from stories, not video-games!
What stranger choices has the show made?

So Maui and Moana?

If its introducing new characters etc, it CANNOT end with this season. I want a proper done and dusted finale. A Big Bad that is fought and beaten, and everybody gets their deserved ending.
The ABC executive lady said it wouldn't just be cancelled, it would be given time to end properly and respectfully as it has such a huge and loyal following.
I don't want it to end on a new set of character introductions, set up for another season, then it ends. That would be just devastating. Truly.

What I was literally thinking. But, I think it's Henry and Robin. But, if everyone is still on the show, including young Henry, it shouldn't be them.
Widdi wrote:So Maui and Moana?
Moana is 16. And it would say Polynesian on the cast descriptions

They could easily be human-fied

The new characters don't sound that interesting.

Here's hoping, they won't be replacing any of the existing main characters.

My guess.

Darkness that threatens everything she holds dear was the clincher.
No way is
Wreck-It Ralph going to be incorporated into this show.

It would be odd for sure, but then this show has become kind of a campy train wreck (you know you should stop watching it but you just can't help yourself - me included) that NOTHING would surprise me.
