Why now though? Even before tablets, even in the '90s kids stopped playing with toys around age 6-7 and started playing video games. There have even been PlayStations since the mid '90s.

Videos games were just one of many options for kids when 90's consoles were around. toys were still king I think.
Compare it to today when everyone has a super computer in their pocket, usually some kind of other portable gaming device, like a switch, and maybe a traditional console and/or pc. We also live in a post toys r us world. at least here in the us. Times have certainly shifted away from toys as we knew them.

I know that I`m a little late, but my impression of the teaser was that it was a good one. I liked the build-up to the tablet. But it was unfortunately too short. The part of Mr. Potato Head taking off the eyes of his wife was clever, though.

I didn't know the lilypad was supposed to be a tablet. I just assumed it was an analogue for cellphones or A.I., which would be sort of interesting to explore, I guess.

The Disneynerd wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 3:39 pm Very great points Patch ! Really defined what was slightly off with TS4 no matter how it still kinda felt like a worthy movie. Take that Hardbackyoyo for quoting something from like half a year ago

Not sure hardbackyoyo deserves the rudeness, which unfortunately has become the norm here (shocker there are less posts than ever, who wants to be harassed?). In fact, I agree with hardbackyoyo for the most part. There's nothing incredibly wrong with TS4 unless you already accepted 3 as an ending, even though it was never going to be an ending.

Yeah i also think pre 2020s, consoles, phones, electronics etc. were more of a 12+ thing, whereas now literally even 2 year olds carry them around. Over a year ago around June when i was working in this not named place there was a mother in line with her 2-4 year old toddler in his stroller and i was so shocked to see him carry his own tablet scrolling through tiktok and i was like would be a great opportunity for TS5 to discuss that social commentary and here we are.

Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 7:10 pm Not sure hardbackyoyo deserves the rudeness

So theres this thing called sarcasm

Yeah, sarcasm doesn't involve tagteaming somebody to discourage them from posting something that disagrees with you. Tbh, most of your posts come across like AI, it's hard to find anything you say genuine, everything sounds like some disturbing, veiled attack on some poster or another. Makes me wonder if Disney sicced a bunch of bots on this place to pollute the discourse.

Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 6:30 am it's hard to find anything you say genuine, everything sounds like some disturbing, veiled attack on some poster or another.

Awww Love your self reflexion! 🩷Also where tf was the "discouragement"? Unlike u i dont have to villainize anyone on this forum that disagrees with my opinion...
And the jokes truly write themselves as youre certainly the most prominent one here that countlessly attacks people whose opinion u dont like (especially newer members) and when people rightfully call u out u cant even take accountability for ONCE, especially weird and annoying whenever i express my opinion about stuff (scandalous!) that ur always the first to question it and automatically side with the opposite opinion (because people who have a different opinion than yours HAVE to be bots right? )
...like why ur so Obsessed with me?

And funny of you calling people bots when ur music taste clearly indicates youre one yourself ijbol

Im sure atleast the non bots here know the "take that" thing was just a harmless joke, but if not, then i wanna apologize to you Hardbackyoyo for coming off too agressive or rude before!

Not sure how you even know anything about this place to comment on me at all? Just another comment to add to the pile that sounds creepy and stalkery. It reminds me of lavendargold, who verged on death threats and was most likely a dusneyspirit alter. I expect disneyspirit has had 5 or 6 alters here at this point.

Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 7:28 pm Not sure how you even know anything about this place to comment on me at all?

Well its quite difficult to avoid ur presence with ur random attacks, which i already pointed out before, but i dont expect bots to process data well atp.

Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 7:28 pm Just another comment to add to the pile that sounds creepy and stalkery. It reminds me of lavendargold, who verged on death threats and was most likely a dusneyspirit alter.

So calling out your hateful behaviour = stalking and death threats?!? ijbol ur doing sooo much progress regarding accountability

I believe this digression was about acknowledging you were openly rude to hardbackyoyo, not the first member you've done it to, I guess because you think dogpiling somebody alongside PatchOfBlue will cause someone who disagrees with you to self-censor and stop posting. If you only want your opinion to be spoken, start a podcast. And I said all that without any personal attacks, which you've made several of here and in the Tangled thread. I know trying to instigate someone to insult you in return is the way you usually get out of having this kind of behavior moderated because then both posters are considered in the wrong somehow, that's exactly why I always make sure not to respond in kind. Have a nice day.

New Trailer

I feel like it's going to be much the same situation as Inside Out 2 where people are going to be so impressed that they roped something like "anxiety attacks" into a children's film that no one's going to care if it's done well--gracefully in the context of the narrative or acutely in the context of the real world issue it's trying to represent.

I personally thought Inside Out 2 was well-done. Same with Zootopia 2--neither are quite as refined as their originals, but good in a more unexceptional way.

Interesting that the poster has a similar arrangement to Lilo & Stitch's style of marketing just like Zootopia 2 did. I haven't looked at Hoppers' marketing, but I expect something similar for Hexed. Following the money, I guess. Personally, I think this one looks interesting, but I did feel the same way about 4 and it was weaker than the others. I think the idea of a new "toy" that is hostile to the others will be a different plot. On another forum, they noted that the lilypad could expose the toys to the humans potentially, although I doubt they'd ever do that. But IDK, maybe they could have a different relationship with Bonnie where they actually communicate with her, then in follow-up films, that would be a reason why she would never abandon them as she gets older and maybe also a reason for her to seek Andy out to give the toys back to him--for him to know they're sentient, too, possibly or at least for him to give them to his own children.

Randy Newman will be returning for this. Pleasantly surprised as I made a prediction that this could end up being the first in the series to go without him. The way things were looking for him health wise, I didn't really expect it, but I'm glad I'm wrong.

This looks so much better than 4. That said, the audience exhaustion and derision at that "5" in the title was palpable when the preview played while I was at the movies seeing The Devil Wears Prada 2 yesterday.

Maybe a note for future franchises they can take from this. The numbers are good early on, but once you're at 5, might be best to resort to subtitles to distract from what number the franchise has built out to. I think just calling the next two Frozen films III and IV should be alright. Just after that, move on to some kind of subtitle? IDK, maybe it might be okay because of the Roman numerals--silly as it is, "Frozen V" just looks better than "Frozen 5"--but things like Zootopia or Moana won't have that little difference to help them.
