That's a great teaser right there.

But why is the snake the only animal not wearing clothes?

Maybe he's nudist like the animals from the first movie. Or maybe reptiles don't wear clothes. I'm sure that they are goin to give us any explanation about it.

That's nice. The teaser reveals no real plot details, but I still feel like we get the basic idea of Judy and Nick having to keep this reptile safe from the authorities and that mysterious hooded figure. I have a feeling I'm really going to like this snake.

I like that the sequel is going to have a different directive than the first movie, though one that still feels like it belongs in the crime genre.

My guess is that we're going to figure out that Zootopia has some deep-rooted systemic divide that has kept non-mammals out of the city. My valid concern is that this is going to have the same problem as Inside Out 2 where they just try to repeat the same revelation that the first movie was known for and expect it to be as groundbreaking the second time. Let's hope they can add some spin that adds some depth to the conversation.

I agree with everyone else, it’s a well done teaser.

I don't know whether this is accurate, but I get the feeling the teaser was fully conceived, created and cut at WDAS, rather than at the marketing department.

For a teaser it was fun enough, i liked the new locations and Judy & Nick acting undercover. Also yay Bellweather returning, but hopefully not as permanently this time. Judy and Nicks Outfits are major Upgrades, especially Nicks. :) This being sad, tired of another plottwist villain being feautured, i thought WDAS learned to leave that phase in the past... Detective stories can also work without a secret villain (Die Hard, Beverly Hills Cop, Law & Order). :eye:

Well, it was essentially a fun and creative teaser, despite how it`s still not a great one. In some ways, it was structured and modeled after the teaser of it`s predecessor, in a modern, zingy and zappy way. The opening part with the keyboard was fun. The part where Nick and Judy are chased from left to right by the rhinos reminded me of the opening credits of Robin Hood, where the characters are being chased in the same way.
The new locations were interesting to look at, especially the snowy one. The last tagline "only in teatherssssss" (with many s-es) was hilarious. The last part where it goes through every characters was too rushed, though. But the reason for not considering the teaser to be great, is how it essentially told nothing about the plot or the story. And the melody was very bland and generic. But hey, I`m still not bashing it, either :)

It will most definitely be a retreat in the way Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 were. But people won't care. They just want a fun, new adventure in this world. Admittedly, it will difficult to keep up with the social commentary aspect the original had. I'd rather they drop it altogether rather than twist themselves like a pretzel trying to include it in every new installment.

I don't mind having surprise villains for Zootopia movies as that's part and parcel of the whodunnit subgenre. I just hope they don't have a literal hooded figure running around in the film and it's just something used only for the trailer.

Yes, when a trailer is a self-contained little story that features original animation (such as the TPatF or Frozen teaser) then it's most likely been developed by the WDAS team and not the marketing department. Update: Jared Bush confirmed that Byron Howard storyboarded the teaser.

We can see that neither Judy nor Nick wear their uniforms so I'm guessing they're gonna do something about cops being bad and corrupt and evil.

I had thought their in-universe explanation for the outfit change was them being undercover?

Anyways, Moana 2 and Inside Out 2 had warning signs for me right off the bat that I am not necessarily getting so far, which is why I'm not ready to write this off.

Then why are other cops after them as well?

My guess is the Snake was framed and they're trying to help him.

I think it's both. Like, they'll be sent on assignment undercover to bring the snake in, but they'll go rogue when they figure out that this guy didn't hurt anyone, and they'll have the ZPD after them for a time.

Anyway, I got really bored, so I compiled an image of all the character snapshots in the last five seconds of the trailer

they probably dont even know Nick and Judy, Zootopia probably has multiple individual police stations

thanks, based on height and eye placements, i was first thinking it must be one of the tiger dancers, but i doubt they will play a striking role, so i think its either the Grizzly or Panda, especially the Grizzly which looks goofy and kinda awkward which screams secretly evil plottwist Mastermind ala Bellweather.
It could also be that Police Zebra...
Final bet on Grizzly

That's a valid observation about the grizzly bear.

I'm still kind of fixed on the beaver as my number one suspect. He's just prominent enough in the marketing to have me thinking he'll serve some kind of purpose, like that of a surprise villain.

Anyways, looking back at the concept poster from way back when, it's fun to see what's changed and what's still the same. A lot of the players are still here, all the way to the Walrus fisherman. Finnick's even still in the same bunny costume. But I don't see Quinta Brunson's Dr. Fluffy anywhere on the old pic. The bear and the hippo have different costumes, which makes me wonder whether their purposes have changed at all in development.

Loved the teaser to this, looks really good. I like the addition of a snake that's a hero since it goes in line with the original having a wolf in sheep's clothing. :P I couldn't help noticing they showed Bellwether in the midst of the flash of characters. Interesting that she'll have a role or at least a cameo of some kind since I thought she wouldn't appear again.

I know this isn’t necessarily important to the film, but I feel if they out-of-nowhere make Clawhauser straight, I won’t be too happy. Mainly because he comes off as gay-coded. Some folks might argue that he’s probably metrosexual and I know the “So You Think You Can Prance” episode was mostly a dream, but I have to ask, what straight man dreams of a “buddy” of theirs suddenly forming a chiseled six pack, let alone said buddy being the only one to respond to a call for “backup”?
