Those covers are a bit bland. If they are supposed to commemorate 20th anniversary of the first film, shouldn't at least the first film be called the "20th Anniversary Edition" or something? I'm assuming it is just going to be the previous editions, repackaged, though. I wouldn't call it a 100% unnecessary release though. The non-3D editions of these movies that are circulating right now don't come with digital copies (I think the TS3 that came with the DC is now out of print), so it makes some sense to re-release them like this with a DC instead of a DVD. I'm sure there are a lot of people who feel there is more value in a digital copy over DVD, so for people who don't own the films yet, it makes sense.
As for the remaining films in the canon, I'm starting to get a little worried. I mean, the catalog films from the canon we got this year were 101 Dalmatians and Aladdin, both of which were Diamonds. I hope at the absolute minimum, they will get released through the DMC.
As for the Diamonds, it would make sense for them to release Pinocchio next, given that it is the only Platinum film to not get the Diamond treatment yet. But that Snow White book posted above is definitely a bit suspect. It would be kinda weird for the film to get re-released within the same collection though. Then again, this Diamond series has been pretty bad with continuity and such anyway.

I am absolutely disgusted over the past year's home video releases....they have been lackluster, to put it mildly. I dont get why so many films that SHOULD have been released this year have not. BTW, do the package films ever plan to have a legitimated HD releases? what about "The Goofy Movie"..isn't this the 20th anniversary?; and that film definitely seems to have a following. Still no plans for a release of "The Black Cauldron" either. Do not even get me started on the atrocious DMC blu-ray exclusives of the vintage titles; very crummy that none of the extras were ported over for any of those releases.

I'd like to own all the Diamonds but as the UK has stopped them, there isn't a way to do that over here. So I wanted to ask, are Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin worth it ? I have the UK release Sleeping Beauty on blu (I did have the 50th Anniversary, but sadly an old boyfriend took it) and Aladdin DVD from when it was launched as the UK equivalent of Platinum.
Are they worth importing ?

I'd just assume it is a re-package of the original release to tie-in with
Finding Dory and get the movie back on store shelves.

That or just the same release in the same packaging with movie cash. See those on Amazon all the time and quite frankly, I'm tired of it.

They've been re-releasing a lot of their titles with Digital Copies to now say "Digital HD" on the cover, so that very slight change is probably what that is.

It looks like there'll be different versions of
Wall-E and
The Incredibles, as well.
I guess it could just be a re-packaging.

So, I am guessing we still have no word on "Melody Time", "Saludos Amigos", "The Three Caballeros", "Make Mine Music" or "The Black Cauldron" being issued onto blu-ray..........

My guess is that they don't think they will sell enough to make a profit.
We are fortunate to live close enough to a Cinemark that offers DisneyScreen. Last week I took my daughter to see Make Mine Music and we were the only two people in the theater. Then at the last second another family shuffled in. But that's it. The Black Cauldron will arrive on Friday. It will be interesting to see if there is much of an audience for it.
We've seen other titles as part of DisneyScreen like The Little Mermaid, The Aristocats, Tangled, Pollyana, Hercules, The Princess and the Frog, etc. which were all decently attended.
I just think that other than diehard Disney fans, most people have never heard of these movies.

The cover art has just been released for those two.

Finding Nemo as well:
They're doing these new "character-zoomed" covers for all the non-3D Pixar reissues, similar to last November's
Toy Story releases. Hopefully
Ratatouille will follow on a future batch as this is the only Pixar title which never got a DC on any release. 3D would be welcome too but I'm not holding my breath...

These look like the same covers used in the UK for the Heroes / Villians collection ? Only they were slipcovers with the usual one underneath. Pretty similar anyway if not identical.

Do you think maybe it's time to do a Disney Animation on Blu-ray in 2016 thread? I make it, but I don't want to step on any toes.
