Regarding the clip-art that will be used for Merida:
Source: http://www.insidethemagic.net/2013/04/m ... on-may-11/A Disney spokesperson has reached out to emphasize that they have “many style guides from which merchandise is made from, so some images of Merida may be in 2D and some may still be 3D – it all depends on the product and what type of art is most appropriate.” She gave the examples that the 3D rendered version could be used on a backpack, while the 2D imagery seen here might be used on bedding.

Her hair doesn't really look good in that flat style.

cinderella looks great in that image. punzie just looks strange without pascal on her shoulder. merida looks quite good, but at the same time off somehow. would be more fitting if she was alone with some forest backdrop or something.

As a part of “Limited Time Magic,” all 10 Disney Princesses will come together on May 11 in honor of their newest member, Merida, the heroine from Disney•Pixar’s film, “Brave” as the 11th Disney Princess character. The celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park. At the park, you’ll also be able to commemorate the occasion with a limited edition Merida-inspired T-shirt created for toddlers and youth, available at the Emporium inside Magic Kingdom Park while supplies last.

she looks classical, like an illustration for a little golden book, or a trial piece by one of her animators or something. i wonder what the other two would look like if they made them more "old fashioned" looking.Disney Duster wrote: She does, she looks like herself!

Though the composition is awkward and the sparkles are... silly, the illustrations themselves look lovely. Cinderella looks like herself, Rapunzel looks perfect in this form and Merida works well in my opinion.
Let's hope they update all merchandise with these improved images.
