Well, I watched the Debate last night, and I recorded it on four different channels so I could hear the closing words of different people. Yes, I recorded the Fox News, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN. This morning I have watched the closing remarks again, and the big loser was Chris Mathews on MSNBC. He makes it so apparent that he is behind Obama, and he totally couldn't find anything bad about Romney.

I think Jim Lehrer, the Moderator, lost total control after the first question. Try as he may he couldn't get the runaway train back on the tracks. I was totally impressed with Obama and his ability to turn most of his answers back to something Romney had said in previous campaign publicity stops.

Of the two candidates, I think it was Romney who was most prepared, and think that he talked direct to the camera more often than not, whereas Mr. Obama couldn't look at the camera but once that I could count. Even in their closing remarks it was Romney who directed his toward the American public and Obama avoided direct camera 'eye-to-eye'.

Who do I think was the winner? I am not totally sure there was an out and out winner, because each candidate had some good answers and retorts to answers. I read all the news headlines this morning and everyone of them says that Romney won, hands down!!! I didn't see it that way, but I also didn't see or hear anything that has changed my mind about crossing party lines and voting for the Republican candidate this year.

I only hope that the next debates are as well received as this one was. I hope that Mr. Obama and Mr. Romney both come prepared and with the last debate scheduled just two weeks before election day, that will be the time I will probably make the final decision on who will get my vote.

That's tone policing. I think we can decide for ourselves how we want to communicate our beliefs. You can tell us you won't respond, but we can reply to you with any language we feel necessary (within the forum's rules) to convey our feelings using our own voice, not yours.

Comparing obama to hitler also shows a lack of education and a complete lack of respect not only to obama, but to all those who lost or had their lives ruined by hitler. Why won't you bring that up? I would like an explanation because I am still upset about that.





Anyway, the debate: It wasn't that exciting for me, because we didn't learn anything we didn't know before. I just feel like obama was a lot more mature, and Romney took a different approach.

For an idiot who uses petty insults like ObamMao and “His lowness,” you sure like sitting on a very high pedestal. You need to be diagnosed already.

To be honest, I don't think either of them were very good. It really went back and forth with each of them denying what the other the entire time. In a case like that, the person who gets to deny last always sounds like he "won," and Romney made sure to speak last nearly every time.

When are you going to understand that swearing isn't a way of dialogue with anyone, be it your friends, your family, or right ere on UD. I will say it again - Swearing or even knowing how to swear does not make you a better person.

Now to the real stuff from last night's debate. I have had a lot of time today to watch the debate over and over. I don't think that either candidate brought their "A" game to the program, but if anyone came out looking a little better than the other I think it was Romney.

Obama still tries to say that Obamacare is a good thing, and when I talked to several insurance agents who were in the audience where I watched the debates, they agree that Romney hit the nail on the head. It will be the end of the Medicare Advantage program as we now know it if Obamacare isn't repealed. It will cost me and my wife and all the other seniors out there who have a Medicare Advantage plan to lose our insurance and not have the financial ability to get into another program. It will cost all Americans (and that means you and your parents) $750 million if Obamacare is let to go as a National Health Reform Act and personally I can't afford to pay $200 or more a month for "National Health Insurance". Mitt Romney was correct when he quoted what the cost to the American public would be and how bad it would hurt the Senior Citizens of this country if Obamacare is not repealed. Also it would put most insurance agents out of work. Those agents who sell the Medicare Advantage plans (AARP, Coventry, Humana, Aetna, etc.) will no longer be able to do their jobs, and will end up on the unemployment rolls along with the other 20+ million that are already there. Where is the sanity in that?

It is so funny that Al Gore came out in defense of Obama's poor showing and said that "thin air" in Denver made him light headed and he couldn't think straight. I thought that it was funny beyond laughter that Gore came out of the woodwork to defend Obama's performance.

Chris Mathews, MSNBC, was beside himself. Did you hear what he said in defense of Obama. "He didn't have a tele-prompter, so he kinda looked out of place on that stage." And Clint Eastwood had it all right when he spoke to the empty chair, and Romney felt like he was talking to someone who's rhetoric was as empty as the promises he made in 2008, and then broke in the past four years.

When did we get to this and who said it did make us a better person(cant type a question mark it just puts in é)

people swear because it feels good and believe it or not, it`s acceptible among family and friends during casual conversation. if im at work, i can watch my tongue, but if im relaxing, i dont feel an constant need to swear but if it`s out it`s out.

People were upset because they thought mittens brought a cheat sheet to the debate. BUT, from looking at several sources, it probably is handkerchief. Either way, he looks pretty darn shady as he's doing it. Probably his smirk.

I could care less if he doesn't respond to me. He lost his position to be taken as a serious debater in politic the moment he gave faux news as legitimate "unbiased" source and using godwin's law on Obama. On second thought I bet he using that as an excused because he knows he has no back up to response to my post. He also ignored all the other posters he didn't "cursed"

Anyway I'm out of this thread for bit as I'm busy having a life and work.

First of all, swearing doesn't make a person 'feel good', your are confusing those feelings with "I just said something bad and got away with it" feelings. I would dare any of you who think the use of foul language is a 'good thing' to stand up to your Mother or Father or a mentor and use these words and see how far it gets you.

Foul language has never gotten anyone to a higher standing in their community or in their life goals. And I will stand behind my statement "Swearing does not make you a better person".

We are getting close to a day that will decide whether we are the greatest country in the world or just another country with a despot for a President. That being said, I like this quote from the files of YouTube.
"Is anyone really surprised with how the debate went? we all knew Obama would do bad, you could see the contempt on his face when he looked at Romney, you watched him look down whenever Romney spoke with a frown on his face, and you could tell he was lying through his teeth."
And no one here is talking about the 1 Trillion dollar tax that Obama wants to place on all Americans. All he does is spend, spend, and spend. Reminds of that old T-shirt that blondes used to wear that said - "I can't be out of money, I still have checks!!"

No one has given an answer to the original question. What Four (4) things has President Obama done in the past four years that have been a positive effect in your life. (I know, good luck with that one!)
