Yeah, it's definitely not something that I want to watch over and over, just because it takes such an emotional toll to experience it. I can see watching it perhaps once a year or so on my own accord and sometimes with people who have never seen it, but it's not something I'm going to watch every month.

what Aaron said sums up the answer to your question.
This film is "direct to the heart"; so of course I'd get emotional and all that. I would not
enjoy watching this every month (not that it's any disrespect to my religion). We bought this on DVD and only watched it ONCE (we also watched it ONCE in theatres) only because it was just too much to take in.
I'd probably just watch it ONCE a year (the time around Easter/Lent). But that's it. I don't hate the movie, but I can't bear to watch it again... (no disrespect or offense to the movie or story; I'm speaking more of my emotions).
P.S.: a 2-Disc? Why again do they do this? The movie should have already BEEN released on 2-Disc. But whatever they'll do to get money off us...

It's coming back to theatres. I just saw a TV ad for 'The Passion of the Christ': Recut.
This will probably be the next DVD to come out.
Here's a link:

...aka The Passion of the Christ: The Quest for More Money.

I think that the "recut" version will be a little less violent than the first one, I understand they have taken about six minutes out of the film, mostly in the scourging scenes.
I am like the rest of you, I know that the story is true, and that it has never been told so graphically, but it needed to be done.
I hope those who avoided it in the theatres the first time around will see it this time so they can see what all the talk was about.
I was very emotional when I saw the film the first time in the theater, and then when I bought the DVD, found that I couldn't watch it all in one sitting. I am proud to have it in my collection, but like others will probably only watch it around Easter time.

All I have to say is that talk is cheap. I'm not one of those people who believes hype, either.
...and don't get me started on the state of religion. Meh.

i don't think there's a need for another version. if you're religious, you'll take the scenes in. i was BAWLING my eyes out when i was in the theatres, but i took it all in. i didn't complain "that was so violent, they should depict LESS of what really happened."
when i think of recut, i'm thinking of what dvdjunkie said less violence..less less less.
well, im sorry to offend anyone on this, but that's how it was. im religious and while i was watching that movie, it was a reality check-- we live (or lived) our lives in sin while HE suffered because of us.
this movie is the only way to get the message through to people out there. so people read the bible, but that didn't affect some. they go to church, that'll affect some. you watch it on t.v., and that affects everyone.
dvdjunkie also said..."I know the story is true, but it needed to be done."
it
had to be done. so why change the scenes and the original essence of the movie?
i just think they're trying to make money off it.
...how dare they try to acquire more money by using a film based on religion that emotional touched the heart of mostly everyone out there.
*if i offended anyone, i'm truly sorry, i didn't mean to...
..enough talking about religion for me!

I really liked it. I watched it twice, and I dont think i'll ever see it again, mainly because it took too much out of me.

just one little question:
does anybody cry when saw this movie?
because when I go to the movie theater--the two times-- I saw than all the room except for me were crying or covering their eyes and I feel like "Oh gosh...I´m the only one who wasn´t moved because of the scene...or maybe all are to sentimental" so I want to know if I´m not a weird guy or something

I didn't cry but nothing wrong with crying because of a movie.

Everyone reacts to things differently. Neither me nor my grandmother cried, but my mom and sister completely lost it. It doesn't mean that me and my grandmother are cold or that Mom and my sister are too sentimental; we just express our feelings differently. The film moved me very much, but since I hardly cry at anything (I tend to look at things in a rather detached matter-of-fact sort of way), my lack of tears during The Passion didn't surprise me (though I did start to well up slightly during the scene where Mary said, "Flesh of my flesh, heart of my heart. My Son, just let me die with You" because I totally did not see that coming).

Why? Why are they releasing another version? Exactly as you said- money. Money makes the world go around...the world go around, the world go around that clinking clanking sound can make the world go-

Anyways....I wouldn't be surprised that if right after or before Easter, they release
The Passion of the Christ 2-Disc Special Edition and
The Passion Recut, for those people who don't want to see it on the big screen

, again...
