I wonder if they're going to use this tragical scene.

Man, it's like Disney meets Jerry Springer.

Thank you so very much
Escapay
I think I'll send it then if there will be no harm done.
Atlantica, the screen test was shown at the D23 convention which was a month or so ago, I believe in August. Most sites just call it a screen test, but at least one say it was the test footage that landed Lily James the role.

So the horse Cinderella's father gave her (I believe his name is Major) is also in this version. Awesome!

They have Major?!!! Wow! YES! They call her Ella? No! They call the stepmother Lady Tremaine?!!! YES!!! The costumes look great and from a fitting time with the animated version!!!
I am so, so, so excited!!!! Except for that Ella name. In the Disney animated version they made her real name be Cinderella. Oh well. Still so excited!!!!

They also kept the stepsisters' names! And I don't mind "Ella" at all. "Cinderella" is yet another way to humiliate and abuse her.
And it's clear the animals won't have the same importance in this film, but I still want the stepmother to have a cat.

I think they call her Ella in Once Upon A Time, maybe inspired from there?

Well, the stepsisters do call her 'Cinderella' because Ella would sleep in the cellar and would wake up, covered in ashes, hence the name.

This movie sounds wonderfull.

It seems to me they're taking the Disney movie and are expanding on it. The sisters and stepmother have the same name and the Grand Duke is also in this. Also, according to that press release the prince's (nick)name is Kit. And the prince has a best friend.
The plot also sounds a little like a combination between the Disney movie and Ever After. That movie was also very cute. *reminds me to rewatch Ever After*
I like this new trend Disney has going on with them basing live-action movies on their animated classics.

Hopefully animals will have an important role in this movie....I'm a huge Cinderella fan and as a child I read dozens of versions of the story...In all of them are animals that, although they don't talk, help Cinderella getting her choirs done....The Disney animated version had the wonderful scene in which the mice and birds adjust the dress of Cinderella her mother. This could be transformed into a really magical scene, in which reallife/CGI mice, spiders and birds could do the job...

I hope this doesn't go over board with special effects; would be nice to have a 'real' version of the tale, with actual sets / crowds etc, rather then making the entire thing CGI.

Hmm I do like this- seems more in tune with the original Disney film than other live action remakes (Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland). Super happy that Major's in here. I hope Bruno appears, too!

I wouldn't mind if they only used the mice in the breakfast tray and pumpkin coach scenes.

It does seem probable that the stepsisters will also have their names, I just wasn't sure it was official because they spelled Drizella's name wrong, as Drisella. Unless it really is Drisella, but from all I remember it isn't.
Also, the whole idea of her name being Cinderella because of the cinders from the fireplace came from the original source material but wasn't in the Disney animated film. In that film her name was actually Cinderella since she was born. Unless they had the idea that the storybook that opens the film didn't know that wasn't her real name and where it really came from. Which makes me feel slightly better about the whole Ella thing (and the Ella thing has been in many versions of the story, not just ABC's Once Upon a Time. Most recently it was in the current Broadway production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella).
I, too, hope that Bruno, Lucifer, Jaq, Gus, and the other mice and birds make it into the film. And I hope they help make her dress and it gets ruined by the stepisters just like the animated film.

The ripped dress scene is already in the synopsis, so you don't need to worry.
I was brushing my teeth when I remembered the locked bedroom scenes can't work without the mice... So, I'm adding those to the ones I mentioned before.
God, I'm seriously excited for this film and I blame it on the wonderful cast and crew!

Oh yea it was in the synopsis, thanks.
I think this film should be shot in France or Belgium, instead of England, because the film is a French fairy tale and Disney's artists who worked on the animated version actually went to France to draw inspiration for the film, the film is in a very French location and culture. Also, I don't like the Prince's fake name being Kit. But oh well, none of it's ruining my excitement!

I don't like the Prince being nameless though. It's just very weird, and I think modern audiences of 2013 will tolerate it less than the audiences of 1950.
