GREAT poster.

But doesn't anyone think this film could ruin the chances for Wicked coming to theatres? This film is kind of doing the same thing as that film would!

Happened in 1998's The Parent Trap...
That's not the same thing at all, they had different accents because they were raised by different parents in different places!

The slippers being silver would stick out as way too much of a change to the iconography after they kept the iconagraphy of the green and black witch.

Umm, there are different places in Oz, which means that there could definitely be different accents depending on where you are in Oz. It's not like it's a complete impossibility that they're sisters and have different accents.

Not really. Wicked barely focuses on the Wizard at all.

Not to mention it has become so popular that in a few years it will probably get a theatrical movie. If anything, Oz TGAP is the one that has big shoes to fill, and people are gonna compare the two, and most likely in favor of Wicked. cuz that's how things seem to go in entertainment: new is bad; old is good, with some exception.

On the contrary. If this film is successful, the chances of a Wicked film adaptation would increase as more studios would be willing to jump on the Oz bandwagon.

So who is playing the wicked witch? To me it looks like Helena Bonham Carter.

Well, the dolls practically confirm Mila Kunis' character, Theodora, will eventually become the Wicked Witch of the West.

It obviously won't be Glinda, and they call Evanora 'the Wicked Witch of The East'. Since Mila Kunis is playing her sister and there is also a green doll for the Wicked Witch of the West but no doll for Theodora, I'm almost 100% sure Mila Kunis is the Wicked Witch of the West.

Spoiler is pretty much out of the bag now. Maybe there should be a spoiler warning in the title of the thread.

Though it's been all over articles, forums and IMDB so it's difficult to keep this under wraps. But yeah, it's Mila Kunis. The trailer is intentionally misleading. It's not Rachel Weisz.

I wouldnt consider it a spoiler, as some of us knew it in our guts through all the marketing. No clear statements but the feeling was there.

Also, I remember a couple years ago a vague mentioning of michigan being where some location shoots were planned?

It'd be cool if Disney threw in a sly reference to 'Return to Oz' but that is probably 100% unlikely.

Well I heard they had a reference to it in the sequel to Epic Mickey Game, so it might though I'd give an 90 percent chance unlikely

Maybe Disney isn't interested in throwing in Return to Oz, but considering Sam Raimi's past filmography, I can see him throwing a Wheeler in there.

I thought Disney pretty much ignored 'Return To Oz' .... but just discovered they have a reference to it in Disneyland Paris !

All of the promo for this movie looks awsome; very excited.

But I would have thought they would have done a doll of Mila in her 'human' form as well to be less obvious.
