I still see a lot of the individual copies of the Apple Dumpling Gang movies in some stores (Hastings at least), despite the double feature being out. It's annoying that that's never the case when I am after the original releases, like with the Witch Mountain movies. The double feature was out, so the individual releases immediately disappeared. And even though the rereleases are out, I still want the older ones because of the galleries...

I got Lilo & Stitch today at Target. I entered in the code and claimed my "free" Bolt plush.

Yea the documentary was def. worth the wait alone! to bad I had the old single disc edition...what I didnt like: disc art, no promotions, no real inserts just seems weird. anyways disney should def. do documentaries like that for all their films. and is chris sanders gay?

MIne should be arriving via UPS today. I can't wait. I would've thought that it would be here by now, but the weather was kinda crummy, anyway.

Yay for early birthday presents!

I'm checking out the second disc right now... I'm so glad I have this. I would have liked disc art, and I really don't care for the cover art (the original DVD art was better) but whatevs, the content is good.

I've actually been wondering if Chris was gay for some time now... there was always something about him that set my (admittedly lousy) gaydar off.

So I just got my copy a little while ago. The cover is even uglier in person. It looks like someone just enlarged a screen cap and slapped it on there the night before the cover was due.

They could have at least given us disc art to make up for the hideous cover.

Chris, are you referring to the fact that the bottom pic of Lilo and Stitch on the hanging bed looks almost low-res? If so, then I have the UK DVD, and it looks the same on that. :(

However, rather than being a low-res image, I suspect it was an attempt to process the art to make it look all watercoloury. Still, I'd rather it looked crisper.

On the whole, though, I think it looks decent and not as bad as you make it out to be, you plinkster you. :P

Actually, the image used at the bottom is a screen cap from the film! I think it makes the whole thing look fan made. Here is the exact clip from the film that they used. You can see that they altered elements of the background, such as moving the tiki torches. If they were consistent and only used clips from the film, it might be ok, but they mixed it with clip art (the surfboard at the top and image of stitch are both from the original cover, but David was put on the board in place of Lilo and Nani).

The song "Your 'Ohana" is that on any soundtrack? I couldn't find it. :?

So, I was watching the documentary on disc 2, and it gets to a point where they talk about the work schedule and what they did as distractions and, in a voice over, Chris Sanders is talking about how he took up skate-boarding while we see a shot of him shirtless in his bathroom smoking...

What the hell does that have to do with the narrative?! :o :?

I'd like to ask the editor what exactly they had in mind with that.

Anyone else find that weird?

^I think sanders himself was the editor. To me I think it's just him reaffirming himself that he's gay (that's what I got out of the doco)

when I got the dvd last year (for $1.50 USD) I was worried that it was a bootleg because of the apparent low quality cover (but i confirmed it wasn't). I thought they fixed it for you people but i guess not.

There wasn't any disc art for the R1 release? The R4 release received exceptionally higher quality disc art.

I may be alone, but I like the way they did the cover, because frankly, I am usually displeased with the quality of original cover art... (Especially going back to the VHS stuff... some of that was lousy).

Screen cap? More like screen CRAP.
