....OK. It's not really a big deal. Sure, it's cool....but still.
Atleast the cover is cool.

Well, my saga has finally come to an end. After a first mixup where they sent me the actual paper cover, I finally worked up the guts to request it again. After a little discussion with Francois, the phone attendant, I was able to convince him that I had indeed requested the slipcover before but I was sent the wrong thing. I got the actual slipcover in the mail today! Yay.

That store could get into some BIG trouble if they sold copies of Mulan BEFORE the street date. I don't know if it's true or not but I heard that Disney could sue the store if they want to.

Sort of related to this slipcover topic...Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas has a slipcover. But it does not open like a book. It is holographic and embossed though. for Slipcovers!

My copy of Mulan arrived yesterday..... I must say the slip case "appears" to be very flimsy... It just seems to be not of the same quality as the regular covers that open like a book. I don't have Finding Nemo, so I don't know how it compares to that DVD cover, that also didn't open like a book.

I'd just email them and ask:

Doesn't hurt and doesn't cost anything.

thanks to this post, i also requested a Beauty and the Beast Slipcover aswell, i bought my Beauty and the Beast dvd from ebay, and though the DVD was new and unopened, the slipcover was not so new, since i bought it i have been un-happy because it was bent alittle, and has a few scratches and a small tear and Disney said that they would send me the slipcover for this and The Lion King and The Lion King 2.

like the person posted, it doesn't hurt to ask and it cost nothing, just takes 7-10 days

Yeah, saving107 is right. I called for a new Brother Bear case because I bought a used copy at Blockbuster and they decided to throw away the chapter guide and put the disc in their won case. I called BVHE and they happily sent me not one, but two black swinging door amaray cases! And it really took exactly 7 days!

Lion King Trilogy.. with slipcovers?

This set is coming out on Dec 7. Will these come with individual slipcover just like buying them separately?

I think it's just the DVDs sans slipcovers in one box. Slipcovers are usually made just for the first few months of the DVD's release.

Yeah sadly no slipcovers. I have the set. I was hoping it would have slipcovers since I bought the CE of Aladdin and it had a slipcover.

Honestly The Lion King movie collection seems liek a quick repackage to collect all three movies but it's worth it if you haven't bought the movies yet, as I had not done until last week.

If you don't care about the box, better to buy them separate w/silip covers. Check half.com..

I saw a few at Target and other stores, and they're slipcover-less. I never really saw the point to slipcovers, though. But if a movie I want to buy has a slipcover, I'd rather buy it with than without.

The box is such a joke too. If you can, get someone to buy you the set in the UK, and just get them to send you the box and let them keep the DVDs, because the UK box is much better.

I have no complaints about the box itself. It's a nice little box that could have been better but it's not so bad. It's pretty average.

Sorry to bump this thread, but do copies of AIW: ME still have slipcovers? I'm importing one and I'd like to know. I'm not going to have a nervous breakdown if it doesn't but I would like to know.

I got mine from amazon.com like, a month ago and it did not have a slipcover. And like you, it didn't cause me a nervous breakdown.

I've seen a bunch still around with slipcovers but more and more are starting to pop up without them.

On a slipcover related note I saw a Sleeping Beauty with a slipcover and I haven't seen one in a store with a slipcover in ages. It was badly damaged though. My copy has no slipcover. :(

Are the Aladdin sequels going to have slipcovers? Mulan II?

None of those DVDs look as though they will have slipcovers.

And none of them are 2-disc DVD sets so I think the chances of them popping up on release date with slipcovers are... slim at best.

I have a question about Lion King II and other slipcovers

First of all stores are running out of copies of any of the Lion King movies. I finally got my copy of Lion King II. But there was just one problem that I found, it's missing it's cardboard cover. It just came with the case. I was just wondering if there were only a certain amount of them made with the cardboard cover. Or had Disney just ran out. I thought of the idea that someone might of ripped it off too. I am just wondering if someone had the same problem as me or with another Disney dvd. I also seen this with Alice in Wonderland.

Thanks

Yeah, this has been asked on the forum before; I'm not sure if there's an official answer, but it's now become a predictable trend that the Disney DVDs initially released with a slipcover lose them after that. It would seem that only a certain amount of slipcovers are made when the DVDs are first released, an incentive to get people to pick them up early, I guess. But yeah, it's a bit hard to find new DVDs with slipcovers about 2-3 months after they've been in stores, so all I can say is good luck in trying to find them! ;)
