I'm sure someone will bash me for putting both Toy Storys at the bottom of my list but I dont love them as much as I do Pixar's other films.

So after watching A Bug's Life twice in the last day (I fell asleep during the first viewing ) I am forced to re-rank the movies. I like ABL a hell of a lot more then I remember liking it.

I do remember always thinking that was cool. I was approximately 3 years old when Toy Story was released and 5 when A Bug's Life was released. I did go see A Bug's Life with my family, I do remember that. Then in 2001 I went and saw Monsters, Inc. and absolutely loved it. But yeah the Toy Storys just never stuck to me like the other films did.

1. Monsters Inc. (9.5/10) - Simply because I find this the most watchable. Personally I can watch it over and over again.

2. Toy Story 2 (9/10) - Love the characters - and the story line was an improvement.

3. Toy Story (8/10) - It's a classic and I love the characters but the story was a bit simple.

4. A Bug's Life (7/10) - Lots of fun.

5. Finding Nemo (6.5) - Ehhh...

6. Cars (3.5/10) - this film did nothing for me. I really loved some of the old shorts that centered around "car families" and whatnot - but as a full length film - it was too much. Cars make great shorts, but there's not enough to make a decent film out of.

*Have yet to see Up.

After finally seeing Up! today, here's how I rank them:

1. WALL-E
2. Tied: Ratatouille and Up! (Up! does have a slight edge over Ratatouille)
3. Cars
4. Finding Nemo
5. Monsters Inc.
6. Tied: Toy Story and Toy Story 2
7. A Bug's Life
8. The Incredibles
9. Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (ok it's 2D animated, but it's still Pixar)

Hard to rank, they're all good.

I swear I've done this before several times on several different threads maybe...

But I honestly dont know how to order these because I've seen some films only once and others a billion times. I'll give this a whirl though.

Here are my different opinions on each of the movies.

Toy Story: Great film and a great start for the company.

A Bug's Life: Has the best Pixar villain and some of the best CGI Animation in the 90's.

Toy Story 2: I assume that I'm one of the few that actually thinks that the sequel was better then the original. Much more adventure and great new characters. My only complaint was that there was not enough Zurg.

Monsters, Inc: One of my personal favourite Pixar movies. This one made me laugh the most. ''WELCOME TO THE HIMALAYAAAAS!'' Oh, and there was also my second favourite Pixar villain, Randal. Finally, I think this movie had the best music.

Finding Nemo: I enjoyed this movie a lot as well. There were a lot of sad scenes though. Not that this ruins the actual movie however. It also got me a bit more interested in fishes for some reason.

The Incredibles: Another one of my favourite Pixar movies. Had the best and most epic storyline in my opinion. Syndrome was yet another great villain, and I hope to see a sequel that will hopefully be decent.

Cars: Well, to be honest, I didn't really like this movie too much sadly. But I did think it had a great moral to it. But I wasn't really hoping for a sequel to this film.

Ratatouille: I liked this movie better then Cars. And it's good to see that something animated finally focuses on rats and not mice. I also thought it had some great humour along with great animation similar to A Bug's life

Wall-E: Again, a great concept and some great humour. I also like the music.

Up was kind of mediocre again. However, I have only seen this once and when/if I get it on Blu-ray I think I'll have to reevaluate the film. At this time, though, I see it as being around the middle of the pack.

I'm looking forward to posting in this thread again soon. I've revisited 9 of the Pixar films over the past 5½ weeks. I must say that's been a tremendously enjoyable thing to do, even if it's been more spread-out than I had hoped. My rankings have changed. I shall post them after watching the final one. I do recommend collective viewing of the canon. You see certain things in a new light (the improvements in animation are quite significant!) and also realize you may have been more or less enthusiastic than deserved.

Yeah, I've noticed that Pixar films tend to improve on multiple viewings. It took me a number of watches to fully appreciate The Incredibles, Ratatouille and Toy Story 2.

I actually love all 10 of these films. It's very difficult to rank them when you love them all (Cars was the easiest to rank, and even so, I did actually like it, despite not liking it as much as any other Pixar film). In my opinion, my oddest looking ranking is Finding Nemo in second-to-last place. In my defense, when my brother was very young, he forced me to watch this movie about four times a day for a few months. This was before I was into Disney. So, I'll admit, I'm still a little Finding Nemo-d out. But still! I enjoy it when I do watch it, but I like it more if I can leave some time in between viewings.

Crazy, my revised rankings are almost a perfect reflection of the previous poster's. Here it goes, as of November 28, 2009...

1. Toy Story - Visually the simplest, emotionally perhaps the richest... an extremely fun time. Its historical significance hardly factors into this ranking.
2. A Bug's Life - Grossly underrated. Awesome villain, epic feel, and rather unlike all the rest.
3. The Incredibles - Probably the most mature film in the canon... this feels as definitive a superhero film as will be made in our lifetimes.
4. Toy Story 2 - I'm not crazy about everything that occurs here, but it's a polished and highly entertaining sequel.
5. Up - Poignant, fun, exciting... and with a feel all its own.
6. WALL-E - With a few minutes shaved off, this might have been perfect. Still darn close to it, though it requires a some patience.
7. Cars - Definitely not as highbrow as its Pixar contemporaries, but still an utterly enjoyable and visually wonderful film bolstered by a fun cast of characters.
8. Monsters, Inc. - It's a little broad for my tastes, but that's about the only reason I can cite for this not ranking higher.
9. Finding Nemo - Though it's another fine rescue comedy, there just aren't many characters to warm to.
10. Ratatouille - A distant tenth, it's the only Pixar film I hesitate to declare liking. The concept never really works for me, the characters keep a distance, and the flavor is less appealing than anything else the studio's done. That said, I still recognize there is substance and there are a few good moments.

1. The Incredibles- Excellent story and pace, lovable characters, awesome visuals.
2. Up- I didn't think I'd like the story's premise, but this film just blew me away. Touching, funny, action-packed, what more could you ask for?
3. Finding Nemo- I have a special place for this one...
4. Toy Story- Awesome film that lives up to its potential.
5. WALL-E- Didn't have a very good first act, but made up for it in the end. Cutest robot in cinema history.
6. Ratatouille- Funny and endearing, but slightly corny with the marionette concept.
7. Monsters Inc.- Great humor, friendship, and songs.
8. A Bug's life- Great adventure, but P.T. Flea ruins the act. Best Pixar Villain.
9. Cars- HORRIBLE beginning, I hated Lightning SO much , but he made up for it in the end. Great last acts. Sally also ruins this film.
10. Toy Story 2- I am sorry, but I just couldn't find much in this film that lives up to the original. Jessie annoyed me (except for the Emily flashback), the villains were cheesy, in fact, I liked the scenes of the toys' adventure than Woody's predicament. Those scenes, When She Loved Me, Woody's Roundup Episodes, and the appearance of Geri were some good scenes.

This was hard, because I love all of these films except for TS2 and a little bit of Cars.
