Grand, but crazy!

All you planning for the next format here? Why combine the Pluto and Goofy shorts in the WDT line? We've got them separately already (or rather will have soon). As for Donald, incidentally, there's reason to believe that there WILL be eight discs in the WDT line eventually - divided into four volumes.

Well, I'm just putting these sets together. Idea just popped into my head and I put it all down.

Sure, it's fun to play around with ideas and lists - I think it's typical for people who have what it takes to be great collectors.

And besides this thread is called "The Ultimate Disney DVD", is it not? I don't think it should apply only to features; it should be for everything.

Friday, November 24, 2006:
I still have to finish the Volume One boxset (longform specs are done for Fantasia, Peter Pan, and Beauty and the Beast, shortform specs are done for The Fox and the Hound and The Emperor's New Groove, but I still have to work on longform specs.), but figured I'd post one set that took me a long time to work on.

Now, you guys already know what's in Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast (though the Legacy Series versions are modified slightly). So, after several weeks working on this one, I now present the Eight-Disc Legacy Series for Fantasia, which finally got done thanks to getting Fantasia Anthology today and being able to work on the segment galleries. Runtimes aren't made, however, for the Segment Galleries, mainly because I'm sure I left enough disc space to cover any short video features they may have (like introductions and lost footage) and because sometimes it's just not necessary.

Anyways, I now present...

"Doctor Gulley and the Dalmatians of Doom" has become "Happy the Dancing Elf of Phrooflington" and I don't care anymore.

Wednesday, March 21, 2007: I hope I will not regret returning to this thread later on and that some people have learned their lesson. I hope that any future posts after mine will not contain anything remotely similar to descriptions and names for bonus features, packaging, banner names, etc. From now on, if any of my new descriptions or featurettes are copied and slightly modified for someone else's set, I will pull out once again, and simply ignore that user's messages on the boards. It's not my thread, but I'll ask Sequel to once again ask for it to be closed, to further prevent more acts of plagiarism.

I think it's grander, but nowhere near crazy. Disney most definitely has the source material in their vaults, the only thing they really need to do is shoot new interviews for documentaries, record the new commentaries, and dig deep in their vaults for any other vintage interview footage. They can hire Ken Burns or Charles de Lauzirika to work on it, and given the fact that both are known for their truly well-done longform documentaries, I'm more than certain they could get the job done. Would've included Jeff Kurtti or Laurent Bouzereau, but they like using the 50-minute-runtime-limit talking-heads approach, while I prefer some narration here and there to help with the flow from one topic to another.

What would be crazy, though, would be to try and squeeze it all only only two discs. ;) The compression issues would be *crazy*!!!
