What do you mean 'Best of'? Wouldn't you rather have a season set of it, if you missed the 6th season? Then you could watch it in its entirety.
Oh, and another great review Luke! :)

Thanks for the review Luke!
I'm excited for this to come out. I was one of my favorite shows when I was younger. They could have done alot better with it, but since it will be for under $10, I'll be fine with it for now.

Well yes, getting a full season would be better but I just figured getting more 'Best Ofs' would be more likely then getting a full season since they have to get the rights to all the songs used in each show. I'd be estatic is they came out with full seasons.

I just read the Vintage Mickey review and I still can't believe I'm going to get it. I definately do not want the treasure tins because I'd only watch the shorts like twice, but I really want to see them, so I have no other choice. Man, an ugly, extremely busy menu, absolutely no bonus features, those annoying previews that play at the beginning, Disney really made this as cheaply as they possibly could. I can't believe I'm saying this, but they didn't even bother to slap a slipcover on the little thing. Nonetheless, I guess it's the feature that counts even if the rest of the DVD is crap, so I'll be getting this.

Benefits:

1) The shorts, which I really want to see.

2) The coverart, which has to be the best coverart Disney has made in years.

All things considered, for anyone who is not a young girl fond of formulas, Ice Princess is a rental at best.
I was going to try rental. :p

Luke, did you write that review? I must say that was an interesting read.
I really did try to attempt to like the movie (just by reading reviews on it, that is. ;)) and I was considering borrowing it to see if I would like to own it, but now, I think I'll save my time and money.

Thanks for the review! :D

Good review! I wasn't even considering this movie as a buy or a rental, but I just always love a good review.

Hey Luke, I've got a suggestion. Maybe in the reviews, you could put a numbering system for all the let's-get-to-the-bottom-line kind of people. I'm not one of those people; I like reading the reviews and learning all the DVD terms, but I just thought it would just be a nice inclusion.

For example:
Movie: 8/10
Video: 10/10
Audio: 1/10
Extras: 13.5/10

I noticed IGN does that with their reviews, and it seemed like a nice touch.

If you don't like it, then by all means don't use it. I was just putting the idea out there.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion. Pasta, I've considered adding scores in the past, but I always feel that the words would then become subservient and words can say a whole lot more than a number can. Then there's the fact that Vintage Mickey can't be judged on audio/video quality the same way Ice Princess can. For now, the most I can bring myself to do is give a general score out of 5 stars as I and other reviewers do in the first post. That alone is pretty difficult when you're considering the feature presentation, its technical standards, and bonus material. But all those stars kind of look nice in the first post, don't ya think? :)

Yeah, that makes sense. Also, I hadn't considered the fact that the old Mickey Mouse shorts can't be judged the same ways as modern films. And yes, the stars do look awesome.

I just bought Vintage Mickey, Best of MMC and Best of Britney, Christina and Justin for 9.99 on ebay. They are brand new unopened region 1 dvds. And the shipping is only $2! But, thank you for the review because now I know that I don't want to open the New Mickey Mouse Club dvd. Although I am interested in what they have to say about homosexuality in it. Thanks again for the reviews!

More a sort of wondering than anything else, but is there any reason why "The Best of the Mickey Mouse Club" has not been graced with a review?

Namely because I was hoping to have it done before I left for Disneyland, but wasn't able to get it done and had trouble finding anytime to do it while on "vacation." But that has passed, and I'll now put my best efforts to getting the written part done in the near future.

Luke - Do you have any idea when we could expect a review for Muppets -Season 1 ?

Not sure exactly, but I'd hope to be done with it by early this weekend. I've been writing about the episodes as I go along, but I've still got seven episodes left and then all of the other sections to fill in. It will be thorough, as I'm researching every show I watch to make sure nothing is missing.

The Muppets holds a special place in my heart and I look forward to introducing my Daughter to the show.... It is shown here on the Disney Channel, but they put it on at 12:00 Midnight !!...
