Did anyone else notice they cut out the trailer scene where Buck Cluck says "Son, I need to you to know something." Chicken Little says, "What Dad?!" And Buck replies, "In a few seconds I'm gonna scream like a little girl!" I was waiting for that moment, and it was cut!!!

Maybe it's a trailer exclusive , like most of Pixar's teaser trailers.

this question is probably off-topic for this discussion (but where else can I ask?) - I am confused and someone alluded to this earlier and forgive me if it sounds like a dumb question as I am not that forum savvy as many are... but someone said do not discuss such and such about chicken little here (in this thread) and go to this other thread.... Then I stumbled into an area called "off topic" and I notice that there is a whole other thread discussing Chicken little there! Why do we have segregated threads for chicken little? Seems it all basically about CL so why do we have separate threads and one being in the "off topic" section? You guys are splitting threads (hairs, ha, ha...)

Now this is totally off subject: While I am on a roll of questions, how can talking about a Disney film be "off topic" ? I noticed there is plenty of stuff in that section that all seem to be about Disney, so I would think that they'd all be under the general discussion. To me, something that is off topic would be something like discussing the release of Batman or the new Harold Lloyd DVD set. I don't get it.....

don't worry, Chicken Little made 11.4 million on its second friday, wich means an increase over its opening day last week. amazing. Although that was probaply due to Veteran's Day, expect a big second weekend and some pretty strong legs for this film. Looks like it's a hit with audiences.

Whoa, awesome! Good for Disney. ^_^ I'm happy for them. Maybe all this online hate for them will slowly start to die down now. All the naysayers are probably biting their tongues (especially the critics who didn't like it).

I absolutley loved Chicken Little! My brother, my friend, and I saw it today and I thought it was spectacular. I especially liked 'Fish Out Of Water', and the Alien Baby.

I saw it yesterday afternoon in 3-D in Glendale; there was a packed audience and I almost didn't make it so when I got inside, I didn't have much of a pick of seats. Being a 3-D enthusiast (I have a 1960s TDC Stereo Colorist II camera, with projector, 3-D glasses and all the mounting equipment to come to your house and do a 3-D slide show) I was totally enthralled by the 3-D experience. During the 1st tracking scenes where he was running down the sidewalk with things/animals flying by I was so overly engrossed in watching the 3-D effects, that I wasn't even paying attention to the storyline. It was just INCREDIBLE!!!! I kept checking for things that I know to look for when you mount 3-D photos - Disney didn't break any of the 3-D rules that I could see. Not all of the film is actually 3-D.... if you notice you will see some scenes that basically look the same as a regular movie. And I kept taking the glasses down to see how it looks when it isn't in 3-D. But in 3-D the characters, especially Chicken Little, look like real people! I was asking myself is Chicken Little a real character/animal (whatever!). Wow! So I think this was really the coolest thing I have gone to see in a long time.

As for the story itself, I thought it was fast-paced and never boring. Obviously it is this fast paced and comes in at just under 1.5 hours so the kids don't get bored. I thought the movie was VERY funny. I thought the story was really good and I want to go see it again since I was so pre-occupied by the 3-D aspects of it, I am sure I missed alot of stuff. Mainly I want to try to see it from different seats in the audience. As a 3-D person, I can tell you that where you sit can make a difference in how it looks to you in 3-D. Some stuff I thought didn't work too well and it may be due to where I sat, I don't know. I guess it doesn't really matter because everyone who sees it can't sit in the ultimate seats... everyone will get a little cheated. I hope I can find time to see it this week (when it is less crowded and my moving about in a dark theater won't bother people too much)

OK enough with that - I think it is a GREAT movie and especially in 3-D! The critics who just raked this movie over the coals almost seem now to me that they maybe had a vendetta against Disney. Of course, maybe they are just too jaded. I don't get out to see too many movies (or even rent them) but in my opinion this is a GREAT movie. --- Just don't watch Finding Nemo and then go see this because some things will seem awfully familiar....

Two things:
Does anyone else notice that Abby Duck seems an awful lot like the fish character in Finding Nemo? (I forget the fishes' name, sorry but it is the one that helps the dad find his son). The voice and the personality of the duck and the fish appear to be one and the same. Same character actress portraying both?

Chicken Little's mom is dead as is the case in Finding Nemo. Disney working on emphasizing father/son relationships? Why do moms always have to be dead in these movies?

Disney does seem to have a thing for motherless protagonists:

- Bambi
- Herbie: Fully Loaded
- The Goofy movies
- Pinocchio (when you think about it)

but also fatherless ones too!
- Toy Story
- Dumbo
- Lion King (in a way)

and sometimes both!
- Lilo and Stitch
- Oliver & Company

Anyhoo, I really hope they screen Chicken Little in 3D out here as well. Or do a dual DVD release of both formats. We very rarely get the 3D versions of films out here, and when they do (Spy Kids 3; Shark Boy and Lava Girl) they tend to be in limited release.

I came back from a veiwing not to long ago, and I have to say, THE CRITICS ARE ON POT!

Well okay maybe they aren't THAT blind , but I thought this movie was wonderful! There are so many things to complement about this film:

1. 'Fish Out Of Water' is one of the most brilliant characters in history!

2. There are some HILARIOUS references! I mean don't worry they aren't lame like "Tower of Londen Records" or "Burger Prince"! There are some great references to Star Wars, Star Trek, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., War of the Worlds, King Kong and so much more! I was laughing hard!

3. Disney actually makes fun OF THEMSELVES which I LOVED! I mean there was that Lion King reference at the beginning! I also loved the line, "Maybe the movie will go straight to video" which was an obvious reference on themselves! They also had lemmings pretending to kill themselves which was a gag to that True Life Adventures episode! And finally the alien is wearing a Mickey Mouse watch which was funny!

4. A terrific voice cast! Zach Braff, Garry Marshall, Don Knotts, Steve Zahn and Joan Cusack were casted perfectly!

5. The animation was very creative! They created such an imaginative world!

6. Here's one I have to disagree with Pasta67 with, I thought the soundtrack was amazing! I thought the songs they played during the emotional scenes were truely emotional and brought real feeling to the movie! And I also thought the score was quite good! I also loved the "It's the End of the World As We Know It", I mean it was fun and brought up alot of fun feeling to the movie! And it only lasted for like 1 minute! So the music wasn't a waste IMO!

7. I thought it had alot of heart! I thought the whole father and son relationship was much more believeable and much more watchable than the one in Finding Nemo!

8. All the characters are likeable and we root for them during the whole movie!

This is another example why I don't listen to those so-called critics! They have no tastes in movies, and this just proves it!

I see many people compared this to Pixar which I found so unfair, since I really don't think that's what Disney was to trying to accomplish! They were trying to make a fun enjoyable film, and it succeeded IMO!

In fact, aside from Toy Story, I thought this blew the other 5 Pixar films out of the water!

And I won't stop there, I thought it was better than Snow White, Fantasia, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and the majority of the animated classics!

Seriously, we must all hail Chicken Little!

I'm glad it's doing well, BUT IT NEEDS TO DO BETTER! I say we Disney fans must boycott Harry Potter in theaters so this can get higher box office scores! WHOSE WITH ME!

Overall my grading for Chicken Little: 9/10

See because I never seen half those movies (Raiders, ET, etc I never got those references so thanks for pointing them out... I know, how can I have never seen any of those movies- pretty amazing - I amaze myself sometimes!). I got the Lion King joke (even though I've never seen the Lion King, I know the name!) and funny about the alien wearing the MM watch! I thought the music was really good and I was sitting next to a really elderly couple who were there by themselves (they did not bring a kid with them to see it) It was nesesary that EVERYONE get the music jokes - they got most of them - she had to explain one set of lyrics that the pig was reciting that her husband had never heard the song, but other than that, they "got it." I thought the sound track was great. yeah "end of the world as we know it" has been done to death, but it was completely appropriate and after all, this is a kid's movie. I loved it. Yeah the film really has alot of heart. I love the pig - he is so funny!

Well boycotting Harry Potter will be no problem for me, as I never saw the first ones either. I just don't get to see anything in theaters what with work/school and running other stuff.

I don't know about saying it is better than Snow White, etc... I think it is in a different class of film; I think comparing CL to those animation classics is like comparing apples and oranges. For one thing, it is not like a regular cartoon, it is more like claymation in texture, it is like 3-D. A fair comparison to me would be like Mulan or Tarzan vs. older Disney animation. I guess everyone calls this (Chicken Little) animation, but to me it is totally different.

Well the Chicken ruled the roost for a second week.

It's estimated domestic total now stands at $80,774,000.

While still a bit behind Pixar, i think that has a lot to do with the fact that the audiences are nervous at eth prospect of Disney being in a different medium, and i think that the Chicken will stick around until the new year.

Also I bet that when it comes to a DVD release the critics will all of a sudden get stricken with amnesia, and they'll all be crying about how good it is!

I don't quite understand what the total reported here is.... it appears they are saying $60 million thus far - but they don't have any stats for this weekend so perhaps that would account for your source saying $80M.

EITHER WAY WE LOOK AT THIS, THIS IS A HIT!!!!!

(ok I am calming down now). But this website is worth visiting because it is giving the daily totals and interesting to see how the weekdays it drops really low and then shoots up on the weekend. You can see that at that website. It also indicates that CL has been #1 for MOST of the days it has been out, except for maybe ONE day when it was #2 in box office earnings. (Ha, ha... the critics can all like the dirt off my boots now...)


So you think the movie will stay in the theaters through Xmas? I don't know - I would think Narnia (another Disney much-anticipated release) will knock it off the thrown, that is if something else doesn't do it first. Movies don't seem to last that long in popularity....

I'm not saying that it will stay at number 1 over Xmas (let's face it when Harry Potter comes out next week that will claim the top spot), but i'm pretty sure that it will stay in the top 10 at least until January kicks in.

THis year, only two movies have been at number one for more than one week, Revenge of the Sith and Batman Begins, and they only managed two weeks at the top spot. So Chicken Little is doing well. However, its bound to suffer after this week, with Harry Potter and then Nania and King Kong almost certain to be taking the crown.

Good for Disney! Wow, it's been years since any of their animated films held up this well, much less in the top spot.

I especially like it that all the Disney bashers at places like IMDB are getting dirt in the face. In fact, in the Chicken Little board they're still complaining about it.

Someone was wondering if it will be in 3-D in their state, here is a list (from Disney as of 11/4/05) of the places that will show it in 3-D; our new forum member from Italy should even get to see it in 3-D. I hope they can expand the 3-D showings, but it is understandable because I believe they have to use Leticular screens (I don't think that technology has changed any from the way I had to use a leticular screen at home to show my 3-D slides). If you can, be sure to see it in 3-D; you will not be disappointed! You will think Chicken little is a real person! Check out the feathers on this head - it is just so real! It is awesome, the tracking scenes are awesome!

It's one of the internet's biggest movie sites, if not the biggest site!

While the information is quite interesting, be warned that the members are often one step below rude!

As for the theaters in 3-D, that stinks because I live in Colorado and I don't live anywhere near Lakewood! And it's the only theater in the whole state showing it so I'd have to drive over 100 miles just to get to a theater and see a movie in 3-D!
