Wow, I can't believe I totally forgot about that! I just chose to just ignore it since I was happy with the Blu-ray.
To clarify that error, the DVD included turned out to be the first disc of the 2003 2-disc Vista Series version: the Full-screen open-matte version. (not entirely cropped- more info on top and bottom) What should've been in the new Blu-ray combo was a widescreen transfer (not sure if it's the 2nd disc of the Vista set or a newly-authored disc which would contain a downscale version of the Blu-ray presentation) It's not a deal breaker to me though.

Anyway, I'm trying out the TLM replacement program with the weblink... it's been since yesterday since I've responded... guess they mean it when they say "up to 2 business days". Sure I could've called, but I'm actually doing the same procedure as when I had to deal with the POTC:CBP Blu-ray error back then.

So I just called for the replacement discs - they took my personal info and the stock number, but didn't ask for the numbers of the discs themselves. Anybody else have this happen? I also didn't get to do the survey at the end, it just hung up.

My pre-paid postage label came in the mail yesterday, and I sent the discs. Hopefully the replacements will get here soon

I just got finished calling about the replacement discs; I had waited for the 3D edition to arrive so I could do everything together (Of course, if I do end up getting the DVD-only version at some point, I'll have to do this again, so... ). I wanted to give the lady I did a good rating, but the phone went dead after the call and I didn't get a customer service survey. :( She was very nice, so I wanted to give her a good rating.

I'm surprised they don't seem to care about the condition of the discs you send to them. I asked her if they would send me the envelope they want me to send the discs to them with, but she said the condition of the discs doesn't matter because they would be destroyed anyway. :? I'm surprised, actually, since I figured they'd put the discs we send to them into new cases instead of throwing them away, considering they're not going to print correct versions for stores to sell at any point (I'm guessing, anyway).

I'm thinking about getting the poster shown in the slide-in advertisement (with DMR code). It's not a great poster, by any means, but it's only $12. And they have the Palace Pets lithograph for free...

The same process happened for Pinocchio a few years ago.

I can confirm this. Disney sent the More Silly Symphonies replacement discs all the way to my place too. However, last time I did it via email, and I didn't have to send them the faulty discs. This time I'll have to order TLM off Amazon, wait three weeks till it comes to Malta, call Disney, send the discs back out (another three weeks to the U.S.) and then wait for the corrected discs to come back again (another three weeks :biting: )

And, um are those Disney numbers freephone?
Really? You didn't have to send the faulty discs? I'm going to get my copy from Germany, and I was also thinking of using this replacement disc program, but I was kinda afraid to send the discs themselves.

I know they are fixing two errors, the Part Of Your World scene switch, and what was the other? :? :? :?

The fading to the "Scuttle" scene.

Which part was that? Lol

And did anyone notice Ariel's tail on the 2D Blu-ray was a neon blue in the very beginning where she is in the ship with Flounder? Then it changes back to green when she see's Scuttle. That really annoyed me lol.

 It must be your TV video settings, her tail certainly isn't neon blue on my set. The lighting is different, of course it's a little lighter when she's on the surface in the sunlight vs. being inside a sunken ship.

BUT, if you're seeing a neon blue tail, you might want to adjust your TV settings or get it calibrated?

New to the forum. Been a long time lurker. Bear with me as I haven't really used a forum before so my quoting may be wrong.

Just got Little Mermaid Diamond today with slipcover from Amazon (Just as I had decided that I didn't care for slipcovers anymore). Wasn't the combo pack which isn't the end of the world as I'm keeping my platinum. My plan is to upgrade my favourites to bluray for now and the rest when I have more money. I only went blu because of the Snow White 2 disc DVD in 2009 which seriously lacked. Tracked down the bluray a few weeks ago new for £12. Anyway I digress,

Yes I have the same thing. Blue tail at the beginning. Not happy.

To be honest I'm not overly enamoured with the whole transfer. The part of your world mistake is really distracting, and it just doesn't look as good as the Beauty and the Beast bluray which I thought looked incredible (I know colour purists will disagree). I also hate how the diamond editions have become one bluray disc when they used to be two. I have noticed no combo pack for the UK too. Disney being cheap I suppose.

Does anyone know about a replacement disc program for the UK? I know a few people have asked.

I finally called about the replacement discs, and I should be getting the form to fill out and the return envelope sometime next week.

The Little Mermaid wouldn't look as good as Beauty and the Beast. Beauty and the Beast was a CAPS film whereas the Little Mermaid was the last Disney film to use the traditional hand-painted cel method of animation.

Oh and welcome to the forum! :)

I'm kinda thankful Mermaid was not a caps film. They would be tempted to tamper with too many things they shouldn't, like beauty and the beast and the lion king. obvious errors aside, mermaid looks to be the most faithful transfer I've seen in years.

Thank you.
I rewatched it and it looked better. Think my TV was at a strange angle first time around. Howard's lecture and the live action documentary (if you can call it that) were really interesting.
I forget this film isn't caps but it does explain why it lacks the oomph BatB had.

I contacted Disney UK about a replacement disc. I'm not expecting a reply. I suppose I could live with the change(s) but I don't want too and feel I shouldn't have too. I upgraded for a reason and that's not so I could continue to watch the film on the Platinum DVD because its a better representation.

Found this: http://talkbacker.com/talkbackers/disne ... id/id=7996
Apparently Amazon are withdrawing the wrong discs for the correct replacements. Guess this is US only

I've thought the same thing for a well; a blessing in disguise, I think.
