Complete and uniformly excellent? The most since Sleeping Beauty? What about 101 Dalmatians? And I found The Princess and the Frog to be very messy, just like jpanimation.

Not complete and uniformly excellent...that doesn't even apply to Sleeping Beauty. I said the MOST complete and uniformly excellent since Sleeping Beauty. 101 Dalmatians has recycled animation, and a rushed, third act resolution not befitting the great writing of the 1st and even 2nd acts.

A couple commenters dont have that view. They see the Disney logo and the CGI and think it's Pixar, no matter how Dreamworks-ish the trailer is.

Interestingly, people on the Dutch Disney forum I advertise in my signature, also thought the trailer for Tangled looked like a DreamWorks-production. They said it looks like a clone of Shrek. Could this backfire for Disney? People thinking this is just a lame copycat and decide to not go see it?

I don't think "racial issues" had anything to do with the movie's "failure". The movie was pitted against other big moneymakers, both good and terrible.

Has anyone else noticed when Rapunzel leaves her tower she takes the frying pan with her

Wouldnt surprised me if Tangled got delayed. Judging by the trailer, it doesnt even look like this film even has a story yet.

If Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)," gets delayed till next year, then Disney will have a chance to work on the story more, and best of all, feel free to say, "I don't think so Polizzi, but we'll see," change the name back...maybe. I know that Disney would probably refuse to do it, but if Disney's, "Winnie the Pooh," becomes successful, maybe they could, but not quite, reconsider...maybe. Just a thought.

I'm not going to get my hopes up. This almost seems like a rumor started just to get fans excited. I mean, we all know how much fans want to see Glene Keane's traditional fairy tale take on the Rapunzel story (with painterly look?) and how much fans want it to be called Rapunzel again (changed to "Tangled" due to it's departure from the Rapunzel story, even though we know it was actually just marketing's attempt to get boys to see it).

On the other hand, I've heard Pooh production has been going smoothly. They finished their story with little problems and started the animation with no hitches. I wouldn't be surprised if Winnie the Pooh wrapped up earlier then anticipated.

Still, this doesn't mean anything. Can you imagine just how much this would increase Rapunzel's production costs (making changes this late in the game)? Early screenings have had positive reactions, so unless they think these changes are really THAT good, why bother? Glen Keane and John Lasseter are the executive producers, so I think they have this power, but they'd certainly need a good explanation to exercise it.

I don't know if this means anything but Apple Trailers just posted the Rapunzel trailer yesterday with the November 5th release date. If they were planning on delaying it, I think they would've told marketing to cool it down.
