Poor capitalization, names of movies not properly capitalized, failure to express thoughts in a more coherent manner, failure to explain her thoughts with examples and further analysis, only two/three paragraphs long... Seriously, I feel sorry for anyone that truly takes this review seriously.

Thinking that they may have been a little too subtle, it's really hard to spot.

I need to ask a question to those who saw Frozen in 3D. Basically, what did it look like? Did your cinema project the film properly with enough brightness for the film to remain at least watchable with the 3D glasses on?

For those who missed my earlier post, I went to see Frozen in 3D yesterday, but the image quality was so poor that I walked out after 15 minutes and got a refund. I figured that when one has been anticipating a film for years, watching it in horrid conditions is no way to enjoy it. I could barely make out what was happening in Get A Horse, the image was so murky and ... grey.

I frequent Malta cinemas, which have pretty much all converted to 3D, unfortunately. What are cinemas in the rest of Europe and the US like? Are there any that actually provide a good movie-going experience?

PS. Yesterday I watched Saving Mr Banks too, at the same multiplex that was showing Frozen, only SMB was exhibited in one of the screens that have not yet been converted to digital equipment. It was projected from a beautiful-looking 35mm print. I wish I could experience Frozen that way.

I don't know if this will help, but this is what I thought of the 3D:

Get a horse was the main 3D event. everything came popping out and it was really well done. Especially since the first black and white part was not in 3D at all.

As for Frozen, personally, I was very disappointed. There was only once scene that actually impressed me in 3D (The scene where the roof of Elsa's ice palace is closing up. You can see the depth), and everything else was pretty much normal. Nothing groundbreaking like Brave. It might have been because of the movie theater, but I mean, I watched it at 2 different theaters and I wasn't impressed. Def. not worth the extra price.

I really wanted Let it go to be full of pop-ups, but instead, we didn't.

Haven't been following the thread recently so I don't know if this had been posted.

Has anyone else mentioned the Wicked similarities yet?

The Disney and musical fan in me really enjoyed the movie, especially after a second viewing and repeat soundtrack listenings. The Wicked element is very hard for me to get past, though, and I'm not a big fan in of Idina Menzel as Elsa. Her voice doesn't fit the character design. I also sort-kinda wanted Elsa to remain the Snow Queen. The ending was too neat and tidy.

My thinking is this: Disney decided, "Let's make an okay animated musical that we can really polish up to turn into a Broadway show." The feeling I get from Frozen is that it is almost like a first draft of a super awesome play. Add some more dimension, darken it up a bit, make the characters a little more complex, and I'll see it when it opens on stage.

Disney's 3D releases don't have that pop out of the screen thing as much compared to Dreamworks films or anything like that. I heard someone say they like it because it isn't gimmicky 3D.

To be honest, Frozen was probably an improvement in 3D effect compared to other films. Mainly the snowy wind. The only reason I saw it in 3D is because I had 3 free ticket's from Kellogg's Cereal.

When I take my girlfriend to see it again on Sunday I'll be seeing it in 2D

Also kids at the theater got Frozen 3D glasses. Here's an auction on Ebay that has a good picture of them

Regarding 3D - sorry to hear about your experience. Ive certainly never had any negative experiences in terms of actually being able to see the movie. It tends to be darker, yes, but the brightness is pumped up to compensate. I'm curious, have you ever seen a 3D movie that DOES work for you? I know some people's eyes simply don't work well with 3D - maybe that's the case here? Especially since it's happened at more than one theater, and especially if others in the theaters didn't seem to have a problem.

As far as the actual use of the 3D, I don't think we should be wishing for more "pop-outs". That's when it becomes a gimmick instead of a tool. 3D should be used to create depth, not to make the audience go "oooo" and reach for the screen. I do think Frozen could have utilized it a little more, but where it does it does it very well, like in the icy wind. Get a Horse, on the other hand, uses the gimmicky 3D to full effect, because the whole point of the short is that it's one big gimmick. It almost feels like a theme park attraction, so having the characters pop out makes sense here.

Most of the people who are agreed with this are funny enough, future artist whom most likely see Disney as a future potential rival.

I've been continuously watching the Let It Go scene and I cannot get the song out of my head; it really feels like a classic Disney moment. Some of the orchestra seems a bit odd, and some of Elsa's facial expressions, and her running, aren't the best, but, overall, this is a fantastic scene. I do really love the subtlety that was achieved in the performance, though; it's some of the best CGI Disney animation, I think. I think my favorite parts of the scene are "Here I stand, and here I'll stay" and when Elsa let's down her hair. They're certainly powerful moments in my eyes.

Considering that this is the only portion of the film that I've actually seen (sadly, I'll probably have to wait for the Blu-ray release to see the full film), I think Disney is heading in a great direction. It's certainly on par (if not slightly above) Wreck-It Ralph, and leaps and bounds over the monotony that is Tangled. I feel like Disney might actually be back now. Frozen really has me excited for what's to come from Disney animation (and I've only seen one scene! Hopefully the rest of the film is just as good).

you know Im happy to see Frozen is successful but I was hoping it wouldnt be this successful cuz now were gonna end up getting a repeat of what happened with Lion King... Disney is gonna expect every animated film after it has to gross as much as Frozen or if not it will be considered a bomb.

Hope to see Frozen tomorrow...

I can understand your point, but sadly Frozen will not do the same business as a Pixar movie anyway. (At least not the more successfull of them.) Walt Disney Animation Studios deserves to get all the success they can. Hopefully the success of Frozen will ensure that Disney animation will continue to make fairytales and movies about fantasy and legends, as opposed to only movies about computer games, dogs with super powers and movies inspired by Marvel source material.

I think I see it... Kristoff's thumb goes through Anna's rib, and Elsa's braid goes through her shoulder. Or am I just seeing the low quality of the GIFs?

I can't see anything wrong with Elsa...

i can see the Kristoff thing. But the thing that bugged me the most, cause I noticed it... Is the un-rendered Olaf.... >__>
