I haven't been to the mall in a while, but we recently went to the Florida Mall during our vacation last week. I went to the Disney Store and was ecstatic to find that one can now pre-order the Platinum Cinderella DVD. But my happy feeling quickly went down when I saw...

NO LITHOGRAPHS! :cry:

I was ready to order my DVD and get my 4 free lithographs to add to my collection that I started with Snow White's release. Then I got scared when you couldn't preorder Bambi (still have to search for the lithograph set). Now I'm sad since you don't get a lithograph but something called a Lenticular or something like that. Though I have to admit it does seem cool since it is one of those things where the picture changes if you angle it (it is Cinderella in rags and she changes to her ballgown), I am still sad I will not have more lithographs to add to my collection.
Thats crazy if you go to DisneyDirect and preoder Cinderella there you can get 4 lithos just like in the past.Maybe you should try there Kram. :)

I think that Loomis would have agreed with the Department of Censorship if it had vanished. :P

I'm not sure if The Disney Store will be able to have the lithographs anymore. I know that my manager was pretty sure that our store wouldn't anymore since we changed hands to The Children's Place.

We're being renovated at the moment, which means I'm not at work now, so I really don't know if that's been changed. But she was almost positive that we wouldn't get them anymore. Which makes me sad, since I only managed to snag two different sets since I started working there.

This had better have commentary, or I may have to hurt someone. =P

I also forgot to ask this: Will there be a widescreen option?

No because Cinderella was made before widescreen films became common. The way you've seen it on VHS and on TV throughout the years is the way it was made.

Ah, excellent, thank you. Normally, I'd be irritated, but if the movie itself was never in Widescreen, I can't really complain about it, can I? :)

I figured I'd bump this thread up to repost the entire specs list, this time with all of the BBFC running times Netty found, as well as some others that I ran into. One thing I noticed is that Cinderella apparently has a feature that wasn't on the press release: a "1950: The Year of Cinderella" which I would presume is similar to the "1942: The Year of Bambi" feature on Bambi's DVD. The only oddity, though, was Bambi's was about 5 minutes long, whereas Cinderella's is 22 seconds long (?). It could be an easter egg, but I find that rather odd, all the same.

Deleted Scenes:
• Introduction (2 minutes)
• The Cinderella Work Song (??)
• Dancing On a Cloud (4 minutes)

From Rags To Riches: The Making of Cinderella (38 minutes)
• “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” (7 minutes)
• “Of Mice And Nine Old Men” (13 minutes)
• “A Perfect Fit: The Voices of Cinderella” (7 minutes)
• “Musically Ever After” (11 minutes)

From Walt’s Table: A Tribute To Disney’s Nine Old Men (22 minutes)
The Cinderella That Almost Was (14 minutes)
The Art of Mary Blair (15 minutes)
Storyboard To Film Comparison – Opening Sequence (7 minutes)
1922 Cinderella Laugh-O-grams: Cinderella (7 minutes)
Excerpt From “The Mickey Mouse Club” With Helene Stanley (4 minutes)
1950: The Year of Cinderella (22 seconds??)

Theatrical Trailers (10 minutes)
* 1950 Original Release Trailer (2 minutes)
* 1965 Re-Issue Trailer (1 minute)
* 1973 Re-Issue Trailer (1 minute)
* 1981 Re-Issue Trailer (2 minutes)
* 1987 Re-Issue Trailer #1 (1 minute)
* 1987 Re-Issue Trailer #2 (3 minutes)

Unused Songs (Demo Recordings) (21 minutes)
* Cinderella Title Song (2 minutes)
* Sing A Little, Dream A Little (3 minutes)
* I’m In The Middle Of A Muddle (2 minutes)
* The Mouse Song (2 minutes)
* The Dress My Mother Wore”(3 minutes)
* Dancing On A Cloud (4 minutes)
* I Lost My Heart At The Ball (2 minutes)
* The Face That I See In The Night (3 minutes)

Radio Programs (12 minutes)
• Village Store Excerpt (3 minutes)
• Gulf Oil Presents Excerpt (5 minutes)
• Scouting The Stars (4 minutes)

That's 166 minutes' worth of meaty features (if you include the fluff that I didn't post here, there's over 200 minutes' worth of total features). That's around the same as Snow White and Aladdin, and more than Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and Bambi. Now where's our commentary track...

Cinderella Features

First, Wonderlicious, that is an awesome new avatar!

Disneykid, I'm really glad you bumped this because I was getting worried this thread might get pushed back too far. We're getting closer and closer to October!

I'm glad that there will be a feature called "The Year of Cinderella", but I hope it's longer than 22 seconds! Actually I also hope there's some easter eggs but I wouldn't want that feature as one!

Image
We still don't know what that feature entitled "Dreams Come True" is. That was the mysterious feature on the Disc 1 Bonus Features Menu screen capture. Hopefuly that is a commentory or a "Walt Story Meetings" type of feature.

Also, I just wanted to add that I predict that a new trailer for Cinderella Special Edition will be on the DVD for Lilo and Stitch 2. I will rent it to see if my prediction comes true. I hope hit does! I'll let everyone know if a new Cinderella trailer is on the DVD or not. Maybe I can get screen caps, if I can get my video recorder to record from the DVD.

It's not. Same old one.

Oh...that really sucks. Now I feel kind of embarassed that I made the prediction. But thank you, Luke, for saving me the trouble of checking! I might rent Lilo and Stitch 2 just to watch it, though... Once again thanks for letting us know.

I guess that means Cinderella will be the first Platinum since Snow White to not have two DVD trailers. Perhaps Disney will do something similar like they did with Snow White and air an extended commercial that showcases the bonus materials on the Wonderful World of Disney (and hopefully more of the restoration, too).

There's a couple more releases coming up that could have a new trailer on it. Either the Toy Story 10th Anniversary DVD or the two Disney princess DVDs. They all come out September 6th so that's our last hope in my mind for another Cinderella trailer.

:) Yeah, I know. I was so happy when the Disney Direct catalog came in the mail and I saw the offer on the back! Thanks for telling me though. Had I not recieved the catalog, I would do this:

:D REALLY?? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THE INFO DREAMERQ18! :D

Though does anyone know if I could still get lithos for Bambi? I missed that train when the real Disney Store didn't have them.

Yeah, ours will be soon. It's trying to get rid of the cornocopia of Disney Princess dolls before starting the renovation.

With the Children's Place takeover, are they just selling Disney clothes now?

Bwah! Damn dolls. We also had like, eight million of them.

Nope, we'll still have toys and plush. But the clothes will hopefully be much more stylish and current. WOO HOO! *crosses fingers for baby-T's*

I'm going to skip the lithos and just go for the special gift set. I chose lithos over the gift set for Aladdin, and I was disapointed. Live and learn!

Cinderella Cinderella on DVD its Cinderella!

When I was a little kid I used to watch this movie all the time particularly, I loved watching it at my grandparents home! This is a wonderful movie with wonderful characters, bacground art and animation, and(like many of the disney cartoons and movies as well as other non disney cartoons and movies) Wonderful Wonderful Music and songs. My personal favorites are "So this is Love" and "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes". Overall, I recomend this Disney Classic to Disney Fans or animation fans in general!

Cinderella's Animation Cels

I have a feeling the frame (you mean animation cel?) that comes in the box set will be of Cinderella as her rags are transformed into her ball gown. But Suncoast is giving out a free animation cel when you preorder either the DVD or the Collector's box set, so that one may be different from the box set's cel. At my Suncoast store they said they would have a picture of what the animation cel looks like only in about two weeks before the DVD comes out, so you may have to wait a bit. Also, you can only get Suncoast's free cel if you preorder Cinderella there.
