Just wondering, I'm thinking about giving it a purchase, but I'm worried I'll be wasting my money. Is it worth a buy?

ABSITIVELY POSILUTELY!
Ichabod & Mr. Toad is by far the most under-rated and over-looked animated classic. It features some of the best animation that ever came from the Disney studio, and the characters and stories are on par with the highest caliber of the animated films in Walt's era. By all means, its worth a blind buy.
Luke did an excellent review of this flick, and goes more into what makes it such a great little film. Be sure to check it out:

I know Kram loves Mr. Toad. He was so upset when Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was taken over by Winnie the Pooh and Friends.
Personally, I like Ichabod. I think its funny. I first saw it in English class because we were learning about stereotypes. And boy is it filled with stereotypes. Anyways...its good.

I think it's a very entertaining film - both stories have great music, too - especially Ichabod, that has a couple of GREAT songs. And Ichabod, IMO anyway, is more chilling than a lot of modern horror movies. Put it this way, you'll spend a lot less on this video than if you went to a movie by yourself and bought a couple of snacks, and this video will be yours forever. How can you go wrong??

Well, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is a great treat to watch on Halloween other than that I don't think it's worth it.
But the DVD is better then the VHS because both short segments are together.

Yes they did. You have to play "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" storybook game. The prize for completing the game is watching Susie the Little Blue Coupe. It's not mentioned anywhere on the DVD, but it's there.

I know that it's on the R1 release but I am talking about the R2 UK release. It's not included I've played that game but there is no short!

Seems that the UK people get ripped off on these Easter Eggs, sorry about that. I discovered Susy the Little Blue Coupe by accident playing that game with my grandson.
"Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" is well worth the purchase price. I really like it, and with Bing Crosby and Basil Rathbone doing the narration you can't go too far wrong.
One of my favorites.

I really like that movie and actually, just reading this topic has inspired me to go watch it again. Now I've got a question that maybe someone here can answer. During the part where Toad and the gang are trying to get the deed from Winkie there is a part where the weasles are chasing mole. one of them throws a knife and mole turns around while running and checks the point to see how sharp it is. I've always loved that gag and I've seen it used in other cartoons before. Does anyone know if this was the first time that gag had ever been used in a cartoon. or was this already a common gag. Thanks for the help!

Absolutely Mr. Toad is fantastic and stands up to repeated viewing and Ichabob is OK.

What I remember they took out both films and made them into Walt Disney Classic Mini like Mickey and the Beanstock, Bongo and Mickey Christmas Carol.
Both are on seperate VHS look at Mr Toad and Ichabod

Hey Mickeymousepal, you need to update your signature. The election is over and your candidate lost.......we don't need to know your preference anymore because the right man won..................

That's a hidden feature or easter egg as they call it. For me it is a must have. The Mr. Toad feature is hilarous.

I agree with the fact that the election is over. As of the "right man" I prefer to say the "lesser bad won"

The adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad are two great disney classics! Not to long ago I finally purchased the dvd, personally I love both story's. I think the transfer could have been given better treatment, but nevertheless totally worth adding to your collection! Plus there are two additional cartoon shorts. (Can't Go Wrong With This One).
Highly Recomended
