I whole-heartedly agree! Well done, Aaron, and PlutoRegion1 you took the words right out of my mouth...er...fingers...er...brain? Lol, but the big that did worry me was the transfer. I'm thankful there's not grain, but the colors looked faded in the screen capture. How could that happen if it is being restored? Isn't the colors improved in other restorations like the Sleeping Beauty SE?

I think I will pick up the Big Top Edition since I don't have the 60th. It doesn't sound as bad as I first thought now that I read the review. Yay for UD reviews!

Also, an important note from Escapay all the way from Walt Disney World via AT&T/Cingular:

"I got the disc today [he means 11:40 PM because he was working all day selling nuts at Adventureland] and I watched two episodes and I will finish it on Tuesday and hopefully e-mail the review. Popping in to say I'm about 65% done with the review, but have to stop and get off the computer. Got too much to do today, so I'll finish it up Thursday and e-mail it then head for the mall for a much deserved REAL day off (today seems more like an "errands" day).

Can't wait, even though i have read a review of it on Rangerboard the most popular PR board that even Bruce Kalish, Doug Sloan, Johnny Young Bosch, and others have posted at. All i know is the earliest i can get Volume 1 will be Saturday or Sunday.

Well since this is still review related, I have often wondered about the screen captures Luke and others put up in the reviews. You know, my laptop computer screen looks a heck of a lot different than my husband's desk-top computer screen. My computer shows color nuances way better than his. for example, text that looks peach colored on my monitor looks screaming yellow on his. He seems to think that there is nothing wrong with the adjustments on his computer screen.... whereas I think the colors on his screen are garrish and show less nuances between shades. So I'm wondering if

1) all of us can be seeing these screen captures differently because of quality of monitors and color settings (and this is probably the case, because unlike you Kram, the colors just looked dark to me on the Big Top screen capture)

and

2) if in general nuances are just lost when they the jpegs get resized for display here at UD. In some side-by-side screen shot comparisons in various reviews on this site, I can't see the differences the reviewer is trying to point out.

I must admit i did go to Walmart to buy Both Mystic Force Volume 1 and High School Musical, I'll get The Dumbo Big Top Edition at a later date hopefully in June if not July. Looking over Aaron's High School Musical Review i think i agreed with it all, even though i personally prefer the Sing-Along Version, also as to the Wide/Full Screen, my TV is Full so i was happy the DVD was Full Screen and would probably not buy a Wide Screen release later on. Also Luke i loved the Home Improvement DVD, it was one of my favorite Shows growing up.

Nice Home Improvement Season 4 review, Luke. Since I'm saving up, and I don't have the other 3 seasons, I think I'll be passing on this release. Great review, though!

Luke, I read your review of "Home Improvement - The Complete Fourth Season". I previously read Sitcoms Online's review (I was actually waiting for yours, and thought I might see what they had to say about this release), and they brought up the fact that the recent season set of "The Golden Girls" (which I don't own) had edited episodes. It looks from your review that Disney has kept "Home Improvement" (so far) unedited (as well as the music being intact). I became a regular viewer for "Home Improvement's" fifth season, as well as being one of my favorites, so I hope Buena Vista continues to release these completely unedited. I agree with your review that they need to do more with their extras on these. I really do appreciate these reviews you do.

Thanks for the kind feedback, guys. Much appreciated, especially when a review takes as many hours as that did.

Pluto Region1, the differences in caps are definitely be easier to perceive in some systems than others. Right now, my laptop has enough detail and consistency to please me as my modest "best possible settings" control. But even if something looks a bit off, the others would have to, as well. If all of UD's screencaps look too dark (as they did, on my computer) for someone, then it's safe to say, it's an issue with their monitor that should be adjusted all around. Many images on the Internet are processed to be as bright as possible, whereas DVD screencaps tend to operate on a different plane. But there is some kind of uniformity in the fact that all of the caps are taken in the exact same fashion and not digitally tweaked in any manner except to resave in a new format.

That's probably more than enough incoherent babbling I can add to the discussion!

I know it's not a review, but I just have to thank whoever helped with the Cars merchandise reviews (I understand that these sort of articles are reviews done by assorted people, right?). I actually started reading The Art of Cars in Borders yesterday...awesome stuff.

Yes, I second that; great review on the Cars merchandise! I was at Target on Saturday oogling the Cars toys and saw that "Fast Talkin' Lightning McQueen" and could not figure out exactly what that did, so I appreciate the detailed explanation. They still had 3 or 4 left at the Target I was at. But since I couldn't figure out what it did, I bought the boombox for my nephew, who's birthday is next month. Still awaiting my sister's okay on the boombox. If she says to take it back, I'm keeping it for myself!

Great review on the Cars merchandise, glad to see I'm not the only one having trouble finding all the cereal cars. I did come across the "Fast Talkin' Lightning McQueen" today at Walmart, and it is just as cool as the review said it was. I might go back and buy it tomorrow.

Nope, they are just small plastic cars that you can pull back, let go, and watch them go forward.

Excellent review to the Casual Fan/non Power Ranger fan Albert, but there is One MAJOR Nitpicking It's Udonna clearly shown in the Opening Credits. I didn't check throughlly but All Main 5 Rangers Are New Zealander's except Xander who is an Australian(Luke made that mistake last year but I corrected it). Clare is a good character/the actress who played her has been in SPD as the Nova Ranger and Krysta in Dino Thunder who we find out more about her past on what should be the Third MF DVD.
Also concerning History, it's at least far better then Wormhole(The other Teamup) in terms of continuity and episode order(Wormhole is infamous for being aired first on The Candadian Family Channel).
Another thing yes being a WF fan myself i do agree PRIS had easily the greatest Finale in C2D and in terms of Dino Thunder Tommy was back full time after a long span which seemed to be a relief to Most Fans.
The Only PR Season DVD to have 5 Episodes from one season was S.P.D, since Dino Thunder had 3 DT Episodes and the 2 part finale of Ninja Storm and Ninja Storm volume 1 had 3 episodes also.

Okay, enough lurking. It's time for me to do something I should've done a LONG time ago.

Funny story about why I haven't been feedbacking lately. I decided to hold my feedback until a bunch of new reviews had been posted, so that I could put all of it in one, big post instead of several tiny ones. Y'know, to save bandwidth. I was going to wait until the L&tT2 review had been uploaded to post my thoughts, but I just figured out that starting tomorrow, I will be gone until the 25th, so I'm going to post it now before it gets too late.

Great review on Bionicle 3 , Aaron! The DVD doesn't look bad, but it sure doesn't look good, either. I'm hardly a Bionicle fan, but I would've probably been interested in this because of the voice cast, which contains a lot of accomplished anime-dub voice actors that an Japanimation-geek like me would recognize. I'm glad you found a few things to like about the movie (animation, musical score), but it must be a bummer to review something that you didn't entirely enjoy. But whether you liked the movie or not, that doesn't change the fact that it was a nicely written review.

I also must compliment Aaron on his beautifully-written Dumbo review. Having never seen Dumbo, your review really got me excited about the movie, and even gave me a little background information on it that I didn't know. For example, I had no idea Sterling Holloway was in the film, nor did I know that it was released to theaters on my birthday (well, I wasn't born in 1941, but I was born on Oct. 23). Of course, I've had the DVD since it came out, and I've really enjoyed everything about it, especially the movie, which is now one of my favorite films from the Walt-era. I think you can judge the excellence of a review by how excited it makes the person reading it, and since it made me really anxious to see the movie, I can honestly say the review was awesome.

Luke, I really enjoy your sitcom reviews particularly because of how much information you give about the history of the show. I'm not sure why, but when I read about how the show's rating were, how people were responding to the show, and what the cast was doing during the season, it really makes me appreciate the show more. Although this time, I'm afraid I learned a little too much more than I wanted to. I had no idea Earl Hindman was dead! I'm not sure what rock I've been living under to not know that, but it's still such a huge disappointment. But I'm getting off-topic. The review was informative, funny, and it really made me want the set, which I'm going to get sometime, along with the other seasons of Home Improvement. I can tell a lot of research, (tool) time, and effort went into the review, and it was a great read. The only downside is that I now blame you for me being $40 poorer.

I'm not sure if this is where it goes, but I also enjoyed the Cars merchandise review/report. My hat is off to whoever wrote it.

And last but not least, I've got to comment of Escapay's first UD review! Whooo! I enjoyed reading it, Albert, and I was amused when you were addressing the many cliché points about the Power Rangers franchise (why do they focus on the red ranger so much?), and I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the series as much as you hoped you would. Nonetheless, I enjoyed reading it, and if I do say so myself, I think you'd be a very good UD critic, should you decide to do more reviews.

I feel like a review reviewer. Oh well, keep up the great work, guys!
