Well, I called and they told me they don't have slipcovers for either one. I told them mine were damaged (which is true) and they said most of the slipcovers are limited offers for the first 100,000 prints.

Thank you very much to the people who abused this service that forced these limitations (the 100,000 thing is bogus, because I know Bambi and Aladdin sold more than that and I still see them with slipcovers) before those of us who had a legitimate reason to replace could get them. (Hint: a certain young boy getting a Finding Nemo replacement who didn't even have a DVD. Finding Nemo was one of my titles I needed!)

On a side note, I got a guy named Francois with an accent who was very nice. :)

Does Disney Customer Service have an email address ? I'd much rather get slipcovers this way as I don't like dealing with real live people face to face (or voice to voice, as the case may be)

I think it was said on this thread that it doesn't, but I'm not sure. I know what you mean since I was nervous about having to talk to somebody I didn't know also. But they are really nice and they'll provide great help, so don't be nervous. :)

You don't have to be afraid of Disney Customer Service.

I usually support people that try to cheat corporations but that guy makes me sick.

They do have an email but not to order slipcovers. You have to talk with them directly. I tried it with e-mail and the reply I got was the phone number for customer service.

That's a shame, Prince Eric. Oh, but kharma has its ways and when that 'young boy' really needs a slipcover (when he buys the DVD of course), hopefully Disney won't give him one.

It's sucks how this programs was abused. :(
Now, the people who really do have damaged slipcovers and who actually bought the DVD won't be able to replace it. (and that may affect me because I own and buy Disney DVDs...)

Hey, in order to get a DVD replacement or slip cover do we have to send them out the old? For example I have Beauty & the Beast and the slip cover is kinda' damaged. Do I have to send them the old cover? Same with the disks.

I don't know about the discs, but when one of my slipcovers got damaged (courtesy of my lovely dogs), I didn't have to send them my old slipcover. I'm pretty sure you don't. Why would they want it? Although it would be a good way to catch people trying to abuse the system.

What if an actual case is damaged as well?

Just called Disney and they will send me a new Beauty & the Beast slip cover. A very nice lady named Bonnie answered. Also I am going to get a disk exchange for Snow White Platinum Edition, but I need to send them my old one. The old one was a Block Buster rental, but I bought it for the MSRP. Do you think if I show them my recipt for it they will give me the DVDs because if I didn't they would think I stole them or something.

You know, the replacement program is a really good thing. I have had to get my Beauty and the Beast slip cover replaced as well (thanks to my dog) (and to me for leaving it on the coffee table) They did not ask any questions about it, they just took down my information and I had a new one within 14 days. The people that I talked to were very helpful and curteous. The only reason that I am typing this is to say, please don't ruin it for the rest of us how actually need to get a slip cover replaced for a legitimate reason rather than see what you all can scam.

What is the purpose for needing all new slip covers for al of your DVDs? Are all of you that rough with all of your DVDs.

Do any of the other studios do that?

OK, all I want is Mulan and Finding Nemo and I can't even get those! :( Do I have to say that I ordered them from disneydirect.com or can I say I get them anywhere?

Speaking of other studios, I need a replacement for my case of Sense and Sensibility. I payed full price at Target only to get something that cracked the first time I open it!

Yeah I'd say that and that you did have it and it was damaged.

Also I have the Lion King triology and the slip covers were damaged when we moved, do you think they still have left over slip covers? They must if they still have B&tB..

Please get back to my on my Snow White question. It had a Block Buster "Shield" on the front which many of you probably know what they are, but if I include the recipt I think Disney should still give it to me. In the future I may get a replacement for Beauty & the Beast because mine is from Block Buster so has a few scratches, but I may ask them to clean it so it will look nice and I'll go from there..

No need to worry, cuz I bought Finding Nemo at costco for 12 bucks and now it has the slip cover to go with it! Good thing I planned ahead before this stupid 100,000 thing came along. Is it wrong to plan ahead, lol?!

Let's praise our friends at Disney! I just got my slip cover for Beauty & the Beast and it only took 4 mailing days!

slipcover slipcase?

by so it goes
Hello, I called customer service to get a replacement for my Lion King 1 1/2 slipcover. They were really nice and the shipping was quick, but I got the wrong thing. They sent the cover, the one that goes under the plastic on the case.

On the invoice it says slipcase not slipcover. Should I have called it something else, o-card maybe, I've seen them called that.

I'm going to call back and try to get it cleared up, but I'm not sure if the mistake was mine, in asking for the wrong item, or theirs in sending the wrong thing.

Also, since they probably won't have me send this back I now have an extra Lion King 1 1/2 cover which is free to whoever wants it.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Today I asked for one for The Lion King 2. I was somehow worried that I wouldn't have got it because off all these stories. But the lady was very nice and said they did have 1 ( :? ) and that they'll send it right away; without the need of sending them the damged one.... but, she did asked me for the number on the spine on the DVD.

What I don't get people, is you that ask for just the ones that don't open like a book. Because for me those are a complete waste. I got my Mulan DVD w/o and I didn't complain. Then later at Walmart when I was going to buy Pocahontas... I took it off and left it there.

The rest of all my Disney DVDs all have the slipcover; except the one for A Bug's Life and I didn't ask for it because it really didn't need it since the DVD already has that shiny effect.

Just a couple of questions:

1. If Disney just makes a limited quantity of those, how can we still get them from OOP ones?

2. Why did she told me they only had 1? Is that actually possible?

... and a suggestion to all people here that don't want to call or couldn't get yours.

Why don't you ask for the ones you want at a Blockbuster (or other videoclub?)

I've seen that usually they have plenty, most of them are at a very good condition or above avarage... and I'm sure since it is just a slipcover they won't mind.

PS

Believe me, if the idea had come to mind sooner, I'd have try my luck that way first. 8)

Many disney fanatics like me, are extremely anal.
