The first movie has 52% on Rotten Tomatoes. So. Not surprised.

I'm not surprised either. I think so far it's only EW that has some positive things to say (but The Wrap says it is a slight improvement over the first) but it will be mixed all around just like the first film and Maleficent.

Strange that both Helena and Anne didn't go to the European premiere ? And no TV stuff either, usually they go on the Graham Norton Show.

This review from Digital Spy is actually VERY POSITIVE, calling it: "How Alice 2 rights the wrongs of Alice 1".

It's still too early to tell, but I think it might end up like Maleficent did garnering really mixed reviews.

Check out this NY Times article, there's an interesting bit where Linda Woolverton's first draft didn't have the character of Time who was added when James Bobin became director and they both collaborated on his character.

Interesting article. I thought the character of Time was Linda Woolverton's idea. I wonder how the characters travelled through time in her first draft of the story.

Here's more promotional stuff that has been released lately. Three new clips and an extended version of a previously released one:

I know this is only theory but maybe in Linda Woolverton's first draft was that Alice traveled through time by going inside these grandfather clocks that operated as powerful time machines (the grandfather clocks are in the final film but seem to be transport to Time's castle). Time as a character and the Chronosphere were added when James Bobin was hired. I seem to think that Time himself was a character that both Bobin and Woolverton worked on together.

Awesome new clips are a bonus, the one with Time and the tea party was actually kinda funny.

Yes, that sounds likely. Maybe in her first draft they travelled through time thanks to that clock. But I’m glad they came up with the idea of making time a character. It’s more original and there seems to be a bigger excuse for having time travel in the film that way. Without that, it might’ve seemed they were doing a time travel film just for the sake of it.

I also found that clip funny. I think the Mad Hatter and Time will probably be the best characters in the film.

Currently on Rotten Tomatoes the rating has improved to nearly 48% so reviews are coming due to this weeks premiere on Friday.

Disney Store will be releasing limited edtion dolls of Alice, the Red Queen and a platinum set featuring Alice and the Mad Hatter. (In the US at the end of May and in Europe in the middle of June.) Disney Store have already released classic movie collection dolls for Alice, Red and White Queens, Mad Hatter and Time. They look really great, the live action dolls seems to be a given for all the live action fairytale movies (Oz the Great and Powerful, Maleficent, Cinderella, Alice and probably Beauty and the Beast next year.) Disney Store also have a bunch of other neat Alice Through The Looking Glass merchandise items as well.

WOAH! It's at 28 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. These critics are almost vicious with this movie (even though the majority of them are only meh with it anyway). This ought to be interesting for the next few days on this forum when we see it.
