The images are being uploaded (took a couple shots around the same time). I gonna say, the more I take notice of the little details, the more hideous it looks. And it has lots of different type of problems...
The last one is the one you want.
He appears to be active on his account, like SWillie has already said. He posts personal photos, his own artwork, non-Disney related photos, etc. (I've been "friends" with him for several months now).
And thanks. I feel that one particular shot is the most representative of the transfer's issues, and that it's probably best to just stick with one comparison for the sake of keeping the message clear and concise.
I'm not expecting anything (PR might be the biggest issue), but we'll see what happens.

It is 100% Dons personal account. He's very active on it.

Ugh, you guys are always freaking out over nothing as always. Thanks to a great friend of mine, I was able to obtain an actual screenshot of the Cinderella Blu Ray that shows the REAL restoration work done on the movie!
Here it is!
Of course, some changes had to be made. Since the Disney Princess line now has princesses with long, messy hair, they animated Cinderella with new bangs of hair to better reflect the new, modern Cinderella. Her dress has been painted even further blue, her makeup REALLY stands out now, and her dresses sparkles more than ever before! I say this is an amazing restoration job!
...
Oh and just in case, I am not making fun of the people against the new restoration, I am making fun of Disney and how they seem to be restoring this movie for the sake of the Disney Princess line rather than actually restoring the movie.

Can anyone make some comparisons between the Platinum DVD trailer and the new Blu-ray? I'm to busy today to do it myself.

How come you wish to compare the trailer ? Was a different restoration shown on it ?

Enigmawing, you are really amazing if you contact Don Hahn about this problem dearest to my heart! Can I ask, though, if you would send him the link to this very thread, so he can see more of the problems and so he knows it's not just one scene?

I think it was the 1995 one they used for the trailer, since the new (at the time) version wasn't done yet. But unlike the laserdisc, it would be in a better resolution and with (I assume) more accurate colours.
Edit: found it on youtube and it's clearly the 1995 version. Notice the missing line art and sparkles all present here:

That can't be real...the outlines are still visible

It is really depressing how Disney is managing to butcher their own classic movies. A company with that much money and talented people. Shocking and sad. May we see a "restoration" of Cinderella (and Beauty and the Beast etc) someday that is done to preserve the original artwork.

Hey everyone,
I was just watching The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr.Toad on my computer, from I a file that was no doubt made from the DVD version of the film.
As I watched the second half, and noticing the "striking resemblance" of Katerina Van Tassell and Cinderella, I thought that this film looked pretty damn good, and I am sure it did not "suffer" a thorough restoration like the Diamond Line films did. THis means Cinderella could have looked as good as Ichabod, without being butchered...
Dammit.

The DVD transfer for Ichabod is decent. It's colourful and appropriately sharp, but very spotty, if I remember rightly.

Maybe so, but it still looks better than the butchered Cinderella!

So not that the Blu Ray is actually out, what are the biggest restoration flaws? Has her maids dresses color been corrected? Does it have the darker top?
Sorry, i'm late so i've missed a few things. Hopefully someone can catch me up?

the restoration is the same as the one on the Platinum DVD (see first page). Nothing has been changed/corrected

What was wrong with the Platinum version? I've never owned Cinderella on dvd so i'm pretty clueless.
Has her maid top been fixed ?

Hey everyine,
First off: Jade, if you go to the first part of this thread, the first entry goes into a good amount of detail about what is wrong with the Platinum transfer.
Now that the blu ray is out (which I have no intention of buying), I am curious. Can anyone do screen grabs of the shots we have been "studying" on this thread so we can compare?
Also, looking at the screencaps on the review on this site, the colors seem to be a bit better... less blue tinted. Am I nuts?
So does it looks just like the Platinum dvd, but in HD???
