So here's something I found out today (though I'm sure it was already posted); Chick Hicks will be in the film too, except this time he'll be voiced by Bob Peterson rather than Michael Keaton, which is kind of a deal breaker.

I didn't think it was possible for me to care less about this movie, but after watching the new trailer I surprised myself.

I, for one, think it looks really, really good. I like that Lightning went from a big-headed rookie in the first movie to the underdog now. While I don't hate
Cars 2 like (it seems) most people, it's my least-revisited Pixar film. And I think people wanted (if there was going to be a 3rd
Cars film) a more serious film, because obviously Mater-as-a-spy didn't fly with most people (I think it was funny).

No worries-- I edited my previous post with the links/ we posted at the same time (9:03), and then after I posted it, I saw you did, so I put the edit note in (I wasn't side-eyeing you in the "And D82 posted what I did at the same time..."...it was more of a, Oopsy, I posted what you just did.

The Japanese poster makes it look like a Fast and Furious movie instead of a Cars one.

Whatever makes money. Asia adores those moronic Fast & Furious movies.
I'm skipping this one altigether.

Don’t worry, I understood you didn’t write it with that intention. You’re always nice and kind with everybody, so I would't have thought that about you. I thought that maybe your post was already updated before I wrote mine and I hadn’t seen it, that’s why I apologized.

To be honest, I've liked all the posters for the movie so far, but what you said is true. I think it's clear they're targeting an older audience with this movie. The trailer also focused on the dramatic aspects of the film and only had a couple of jokes. I guess they realized children will go to see it anyway, so they have to convince teens and adults.

Maybe it's because I don't watch the
Fast & Furious movies, but I don't see the connection...to me, it just looks like 2 cars looking on the next (literal) path they'll take... *shrug*

I'm not a fan of those movies either, but I saw the poster for the latest
Fast & Furious movie the other day and it's quite similar to the
Cars 3 one:
Anyway, I think that more than the posters of this movie franchise, the
Cars 3 posters resemble car racing video game covers.
