Btw, maybe i'm the only one, but in the reaction shot of Rapunzel reacting to Mother Gothel going "Blah blah blah", did anyone catch one of the Fantasia brooms?

Same here!PatrickvD wrote:oh, now THAT'S more like it. Donna Murphy nails it. She looks both genuinely funny and.. genuinely scary.
As a villain, I think I'm gonna like her better than Dr. Facilier.

'i see a confident, beautiful lady... oh look, you're here too!
I know right? So mean... especially because Rapunzel is so kind and mom gothel is the only person she knows.phan258 wrote:Fairytales wrote:Wow, that was pretty mean...

Oooh they put that in there?! (I actually can't watch the video until later)
Everybody hissed when she said that! I remember getting this horrible flushed feeling...you feel Rapunzel's pain when she says these things.
Yeah! God, it just made me so upset to see Rapunzel's face fall like that while Gothel just laughed it out. She's too adorable to be treated so meanly!Fairytales wrote:I know right? So mean... especially because Rapunzel is so kind and mom gothel is the only person she knows.phan258 wrote:

bytheway, would you like to answer my question that i answered before? it was: does rapunzels hair stay short and brown? and do flynn and rapunzel marry?
I love how the psychological effects of positive and negative reinforcement are portrayed, especially with Mother Gothel. The dark tones of Gothel's relationship and situations with Rapunzel make the film really interesting, which also makes me more eager to watch it as soon as it comes out.Fairytales wrote:Wow, that was pretty mean...

but still they made her mother gothel a pretty cool character. (i think she looks a bit like madonna)

Her with the hair is so scary
Maybe it's because they haven't actually advertised her as a princess, but rather as a girl stuck in a tower?pap64 wrote:I know we are enjoying Mother Gothel, but I have a question...
Isn't Rapunzel part of the Disney Princesses? If so, does anyone find it weird that the Disney Princess website hasn't included her already? I mean, last year Tiana was added months in advance to the film's premiere, and was extremely hyped.
Now Rapunzel has been ignored, and the movie is set to come out next month.
Again, weird...
The thing is that if I am not mistaken, the Tangled merchandise already has the Disney Princess mark...and in the words of the Nostalgia Chick... IT'S PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK!storktimus wrote:Maybe it's because they haven't actually advertised her as a princess, but rather as a girl stuck in a tower?pap64 wrote:I know we are enjoying Mother Gothel, but I have a question...

Again, weird...The only video I've heard of her being a princess in was the Rapunzel Featurette. I mean, in the original fairytale she wasn't a princess, and it does seem like they are trying to hide the fact that it's a princess movie in the mainstream advertising.
Or maybe they just forgot? :/ It is pretty weird...
Thanks. I was starting to feel confident. Now I'm worried again.nickatina wrote:i saw a commercial on tv for this movie and im afraid we got another lack luster marketing campaign. the movie is being advertised as a comedy, i got a shrek vibe from it. I think its going to hurt disney in the long run because good word of mouth didn't save princess and the frog and this one looks like its going to have the same failure.
They've been doing that a lot lately haven't they? Leaving the actual story out of their advertisements (as in the Trailers, the other stuff is actually really nice), yet putting out all the merchandise that is available for the usual Disney Princess hype. They just keep contradicting themselves... I'm guessing that leaving Rapunzel off the list is just another one of those contradictions.pap64 wrote:The thing is that if I am not mistaken, the Tangled merchandise already has the Disney Princess mark...and in the words of the Nostalgia Chick... Although yeah, I can see the marketing department trying to hide the fact that this is a princess movie.
