IT DOES LOOK PAINTERLY!!!! Thanks lighthousemike!!!
Finally, we have seen CGI in motion that, though no exactly, looks very much like the hand-painted Disney fairy tales.
I think they made this trailer so classic Disney...because it is on a Disney home video, they can sell it to Disney fans, you know? And you see, Tangled doesn't fit this trailer. Rapunzel as the title can definately fit this film, especially when that's what the creators were calling it as they, you know, made it with that title in mind.
robster16, in addition to everything else we've said, don't forget them, do you think the fact that Tangled is another name for an"adult film" (don't call it a porn film) should be included? Or would that be bad? And, I'm am just saying it again just because, the main thing is the creators wanted Rapunzel, marketing changed it to Tangled.

OK, now I am delightfully confused. Last week's deplorable rough-version trailer made me loose so much confidence in this film, but this new "Tower" trailer has restored much of that lost faith.
Even though no characters are shown, the mood is nice, mysterious, Disney-sh, fairy tale-ish, and everything the rough-version trailer was not.
The animation is so gorgeous, and reminds me much of the Deep Canvas used in Tarzan (though the 3-d movement of the background cliffs reminds me it's CG, but it's not blaringly obvious like Shrek or Pixar films.) I especialily love the trees in the foreground. Remember what Glen Keane said back in 2005 about a paintlery Renaissance Art to the style of Fragonard's "The Swing"? Well, they nailed it. The flowers by the window also are painterly and as soft as traditional animation. (In other words, not like the plastic-looking plants in A Bug's Life).
The lack of a title also has me thinkin' that maybe Disney's going back on their original "Rapunzel" title, and rightfully trashing this "Tangled" thing. Oh, my week would be SO complete if this is so! Nice.. Nice... Nice..

Wow, it looks great. I would like to have seen a more "complete" trailer by now, but I can wait. Mandy Moore sounds great as Rapunzel.

No, dear! They also used that in the teaser trailer for 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'!

okay, the music is not Menken. It's from the trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1, which is ironic because that will be Rapunzel's biggest competition at the box office...

Nice trailer. I also spot in the Disneylicious site that a Black Cauldron Special Edition DVD will come out. HOLY SHIT i'm getting that. Never thought I'd see the day for that.

What, really? How disappointing. It's probably just stock music of some kind.

It is, because that trailer was made before Alexander Desplat was brought on to compose the music.
Anyway, I'm happy for this trailer. I liked the other one, but this one will draw them in!
And there's no doubt in my mind that Tangled will be one of next years most stunning blu-rays!

The Village

Sorry about that, could not resist.

That trailer was a very nice surprise though.

You mean Alan Menken right? Cause Alexandre Desplat did Harry Potter which the music for this particular trailer is from

No, I dont. Desplat wasnt confirmed until early this month, and since they're still shooting and have almost a year until release, I dont think that piece is actually his.

Rapunzel isn't exactly an original title either.
Virtually nothing is original anymore. God forbid you type in Beauty and the Beast - that should mentally scar kids for life. Especially looking at the R-rated catalog offered... *shivers*

It doesn't surprise me, really, that there's porn called "Tangled." But hey, there's porn called "Alice in Wonderland," too. And, according to Wikipedia, there's a porn movie called "Up." Really, the odds that multiple movies will share the same name (even a G/PG and X rated movie) is pretty good. It doesn't bother me in the least that the newest Disney movie will share its name with porn, as I am positive that that wasn't the inspiration behind the title.

The teaser trailer is boring and way to short in my opinion, it did not get me any more excited about the project. But even though I hate the new title and even though I am sceptical to a Disney fairytale classic made in CGI, this could turn out to be a great movie. At least Alan Menken won't dissapoint. I just have to wait for a new trailer and the movie itself I guess.

Up and Alice in Wonderland...

I'm sorry, I had to laugh at the thought. So many thoughts go through one's head when hearing these titles and thinking of porn titles at the same time. Sleeping Beauty is also a good one, though I'm pretty sure that's illegal in at least 46 states - Jerry Springer would have you on his show though. Chicken Little would also work, though a little unfortunate.
...
I think I'm gonna stop now before it gets really PG-13 in here. Not a very Disney-like discussion. Though watching VHS-editions of The Rescuers, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin... I'll stop... I'll stop.
