Interesting, however, that Naveen is in the middle and on the spine. I wonder if he was particularly popular in Brazil, or is it because Bruno Campos is Brazilian himself (I think...)?
Yes, he was born in Brasil.
If you look at the US covers though, Naveen is on the spine of the single disc Blu-ray as well, with Tiana on the spine of the 3-Disc.
As far as Brasil's new coverart... I usually hate the large characters growing out of the title card, but the fact that Facilier and Louis are no longer just randomly floating in space makes for slightly more pleasing art over all. I wish they could figure out a way to incorporate the Tiana and Naveen on the balcony scene from the first cover with the Louis and Facilier of the second cover. They would of course have to do some tweaking, but I'm sure it could be done.

Tiana on the Brazilian cover looks like one of those cut-out puppet heads you attach to a popsicle stick and use in a puppet show with other popsicle puppets. I'm glad to see the pose of Facilier holding his arm aloft finally makes sense somewhere. Everything else that uses him in that particuliar pose should have had him holding the talisman over Tiana and Naveen. The pose looks awkward if his hand isn't doing magic or holding something.

His hand was sprinkling magic over Tiana and Naveen in the orginal theatrical poster with him in that pose. It represents what he does to them.

I got the movie soundtrack with the same artwork. Now that I look at it, there are sparkles falling from his hand. They're teeny no wonder they didn't catch my attention.

Well, with Dumbo being delayed and no Diamond/Platinum release, this is gonna be my "big" Disney purchase for this part of the year.
Almost leaves me with a kind of empty feeling

I know exactly what you mean, i really wish they would tell us what the heck is going on with Dumbo and the other releases.
I really dont understand why after years of being at the top of there game in terms of releases BV is now dropping the ball so much.

Are the bonus clips shown on Amazon's TP&tF DVD page even going to be on the DVD?
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
Or does this mean that I need to watch them all now? I mean, they're all very short, but just wondering...
And there are deleted scenes included on the DVD, right? I wonder if those will include a commentary about each...

Yeah a clear indication of their direction would be nice.
For the past few years whenever March and October would roll around, I would be filled with an almost childlike excitement as I awaited the newest Platinum release. The anticipation of a new commentary (hopefully) and an in-depth making-of (*ahem* Peter Pan) was great, as I am a sucker for quality bonus features. In some ways, watching the actual film itself was secondary.

I don't think there will be. There were no announcements so far.

Target will have an exlusive purse (not really seeing that one being bought for an 8 year old boy but okay....

)
http://www.target.com/s/190-7898202-537 ... rget104545
and it looks like bestbuy is going to have some sorta Guide book for free or $5.99
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Princess+%2 ... t=princess and the frog&lp=4&cp=1
walmart.com didn't have anything posted about an exclusive though they might because wal-mart will probably have something....either a cd or probably they should have a book about alternate gender neutral names they thought of before going with TPATF title

Well, the essential guidebook is just those little books found in the kids section at a bookstore like B&N or Borders that basically spoils the plot for you (somewhat). I haven't seen the film yet, so I'm avoiding as many spoilers as possible.

holding out hope though that they will have a steelbook on release day though, but not holding my breath.

BestBuy has steelbooks for all the Disney releases, don't they? The coverart for Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio are beautiful. I'm hoping they release one for TPatF, too.

I remember reading somewhere that a steelbook for The Princess and the Frog was expected (maybe even confirmed ?) (I will post the link if I can find it again,) but that it was expected to get a holiday 2010 release.
I expect they will probably do something similar to what they did this year, 12 weeks of steelbooks.
Maybe...
1. The Princess and the Frog
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Fantasia
4. Fantasia/2000
5. Dumbo
6. Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland
7. Toy Story
8. Toy Story 2
9. Toy Story 3
10. Meet the Robinsons
11. Bolt
12. Finding Nemo
Maybe Chicken Little & Dinosaur ?
Just speculation, but there are definitely 12 titles they could release.
I was never a fan of steelbooks until I picked up Sleeping Beauty. It's an expensive habit though, so I've decided only to get my absolute faves.

Thanks for posting that (and the screencaps in the
Tangled thread), Old Fish Tale!

:pink::pink:
I'm a little saddened, but a little happy, that the trailer for
The Black Cauldron is included, since it was supposed to come out last year, and didn't, so I'm sad about that, BUT as long as it comes out soon, I'll be happy. Oh Disney, you make no sense.

I should not have looked at that.
I was trying to decide whether to but The African Queen or TPATF, and I had decided on TAQ, but now.... ugh...
Oh, and LightHouseMike, if you're listening, I am eternally jealous of you...

Okay, so that pretty much confirms that the Tangled trailer will be on the Princess and the Frog DVD. Still hoping to see it before Alice, but this will do.
