The new point and click game from Telltale Games is essentially BTTF4... it's set a few months after the third film.

Even more amazing is that MNM even copied Jimmy Neutron in how much it sucks factors. You know a movie sucks when you even copy it's suckness level.

So let me get this straight, Zemeckis was pretty much owned by Disney since Roger Rabbit, then pop ups in late 2000 with Polar Express/X-Mas Carol
There's no need for a fourth movie other than $$$ / nostalgic purposes, and there's no way he could make a part four with the main actor being presently affected by a neurological disease as he currently is.

...unless, of course, he opts to recast and use motion-capture.

That is just the kind of awful idea I can see someone in Hollywood pitching.

Shows it's not necessarily how much money you spend, it's making your film the more visually appealing and getting the story and jokes to work just right that captures the audience's attention. Despicable Me, which was also very cheap to make, used the same logic.

FYI, I found Jimmy Neutron to be charming and quite decent. Wasn't fond of the television series, though.
I agree. I also liked the movie, but not the TV series.

Motion-captured Marty McFly? Sadness. :(

Regrettably, it's also the kind of idea I can see a talented director drunk on mo-cap pitching.

I have different expectations between video games and what would supposed to be a live-action film.

So you say you have expectations between those two. Okay. Proceed.

Well . . . if I played more games . . . ;)

I'd just hate to see a creepy uncanny valley version of Marty McFly running around in a sequel since the BttF films are among my all time favorites. Image

Who doesn't like B2tF trilogy?

2nd one my fav. love sci-fi stuff.

Actually the 80's and early nineties had best sci-fi stuff out. Hence why I love that era.

According to BoxOfficeMojo this weekend MNM had the smallest decline of movies in the top 10 (23.1%). Guess that means they sold 77 tickets instead of last weeks 100. :)

I just got back from seeing this film with my boyfriend, and I find that I absolutely must say something. Now, I haven't been active on this site for a long time (and barely even lurking, really) due to how intensely busy I've been my freshmen year at college. However, I really, really, REALLY have to defend "Mars Needs Moms."

For one thing, it is incredibly emotional. I cried a little, and so did my boyfriend (who managed to maintain dry eyes throughout TS3). Seriously, who would have expected such capablilities from this film?

Secondly, it is actually a very interesting work from the standpoint of gender portrayal. Despite what those at Rotten Tomatoes would say, it seems that this film embraces the true meaning of feminism (ie, Gender Equality) while using the Supervisor to denounce the misconception of feminism as male-bashing and subordination. It's an interesting dialogue, and we should be discussing deeper themes within this film, I feel, rather than simply shouting "MO-CAP IZ BAAAD" over and over again. We get it, it isn't well liked.

And that's another thing. It actually looked pretty good. Perfect? Of course not! But it wasn't that hideous. The Martians actually look decent, Ki having the most interesting character design in the whole film. In addition, check out the digigrade legs. They are the last word iin cool, and I wonder how they did that with mo-cap.

Really, the characters are well written, the story is engaging, and the central conflicts get really emotional. I'd just like to say that, before we write a film off because we don't like the style in which it was made, maybe we should actually think about what the film is, rather than how it was "animated."

And one more thing. Anyone remember "Tangled?" Didn't come out that long ago? Beautiful, funny film? How was that advertised? Poorly. The same thing applies here. That movie in the trailers is NOT the movie that I just saw.

Yeah, that's pretty much what the reviewer in my newspaper said about it, too. He said that it's not the best, but it's not bad, and it has very emotional moments and a touching mother-son relationship. So, maybe the movie is all right. I still don't want to go see it, though. It just looks SO unappealing. The plot, the characters, the gags, the animation, etc. At least Tangled's plot seemed a little more engaging from the trailers. Even though it wasn't original, the plot had the nostalgia factor going for it. Mars Needs Moms plot from the trailers reminded me of something. TheValentineBros kindly reminded me what it was that the trailers reminded me of. Jimmy Neutron is not a good kind of nostalgia.
