So wait ... the rest of the word are getting BATB in the cinema before the US ?! Oh dear .....

Even the gossip websites are picking up on Disney's bizarre treatment of this movie; perezhilton.com posted something on it, asking what the hell Disney is playing at. And I have to admit, I agree; what the hell are Disney doing at the moment ?

Well, yeah ! For once, living in the UK pays off ! We always usually get things last, this would be kind of a first to get something this big, first !

Where does it say that they're gonna release the 3D BATB during Autumn in the UK though ? That would be awesome, for me at least.

Nowhere. But with the colonies getting it, this sovereign state can't be far behind :P

http://www.hoyts.co.nz/Movies/details/B ... st_3D.aspx

Hoyts Cinemas have exclusive rights to this movie in NZ unfortunately, just like Event Cinemas have exclusive rights to the Tinker Bell movies (so far).

I want to go and see this, but I have to find a way of getting to Auckland, I've been meaning to ask a few friends if the want to see this, but I keep forgetting. It will probably be finished by the time I ask them.

I live in Hamilton. I don't have a car, so I'm a little limited. I asked my Mum if she wanted to go and she said no, then she said I'm sure it will come out next year again (could happen). And I work during the weekend (3 days), so that makes it harder too. I'm hoping that my mate at work wants to see it, then we can go during the week sometime. Otherwise, as my Mum would probably say, I've already got the DVD and I have found that 3D doesn't do that much for me, though one review I read said that the 3D was really nicely done (Show West or some convention).

We'll see. Though I missed Beauty and the Beast on IMax and on Stage for the same reasons. Though hopefully next time the stage production comes to NZ they visit more cities than just Auckland.

If its any consolation to US dwellers, we tend to get just about everything else first. it took six months for UP to go overseas, UK still doesnt have Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories, and hell, they wait until after the US before getting any of the other games.

The other funny thing I was going to post, is that a Hoyts is scheduled to open in The Base, Te Rapa Mall by mid year 2011. This mall was meant to be finished last year, but has had delays for some reason. The mall construction has been going for the last two years. It may be one of the largest malls in NZ when it's finished, but I didn't think it would take this long. Edit: So, I'll blame the mall development for not being able to see this in Hamilton.

*Edit: Beauty and the Beast opened on the 12 August and has a two or three week run (according to a Hoyts representative), if anyone from NZ is interested in seeing this before it disappears.

bugger that you dont have a car. i cant drive either, but have a motorbike. was going to suggest a road trip and split the costs. i work 6 days a week, but can get a weekday off if needed. i could go alone, but auckland scares me to death and its a long way on a motorbike.

when i emailed the palmy cinema, the reply was it was scheduled for next year, so maybe when the US 3d release comes out, we will get it again? [sounds very unlikely, but its all i can think of]

It makes me cry
But we do have Dumbo and we got Tales from Earthsea 4 years before you.

Sorry about that, not a bad idea though. It is a bit of a way on motorcycle, especially since it's been raining off and on (in the Waikato at least). Auckland is a bit of a concrete jungle, haven't really gone there much myself and I'm not too keen on Auckland either. I don't think I'll end up going anyway. Thanks for the suggestion.
