Ever since Chris R.'s puppy dog eyes last week, I can't stand him...he thinks he's all great, and he's not.
Strange. Him and Jordin are probably my favorites on the show. Blake's behind them, but above Lakisha and Melinda for me.

I think last night was kind of dull. Nothing really stood out to me at all. Besides Sanjaya's hair. :?

I pretty much agree with what everyone else is saying. You all know that I loathe Sanjaya and his hair last night was... wtf? However, even though he was deffinatley the weakest performance of the night, it was his best performance vocally. There were a few times where he sounded good, but other than that, it was bad again. Hopefully his weird hair will get him less votes and we can kiss him goodbye (actually, can I slap him goodbye?).

Haley looked stunning. I am a Haley fan. I'm not really sure why. I agree that she isn't the best vocalist in the competition, but she has a really nice quality to her voice and when she holds high notes, there is kind of a rock chick edge that works well with the kind of music she sings. I think that's what I like so much. Last night when she held the word "stand" I got chills. I voted for her last night because I want her to stick around some more, but I know that probably won't happen.

Chris S was deffinatley the second worst compared to Sanjaya. The boy needs to stop picking songs that have an "S" in the title. What is he thinking? lol. And he was so off on the beat.

Gina was fantastic.

I kind of liked Chris R's performance. It was different.

Tonight, I really hope the bottom two are Sanjaya and Chris S and in a perfect world, Sanjaya would go home. However, I do fear that the actual bottom two will be Chris S and Haley and hopefully if it comes to that, Chris will go.

Howard Stern already rules the world!! We don't need American Idol to know that. 8)

Anywho, I pretty much agree with almost everyone else. Chris S. was horrible last night and should be heading home tonight.

The best of the night was Melinda (no surprise there).

The most entertaining was of course Sanjaya! (he should win alone for his hair. Plus he sang surprisingly well)

The most overrated was Blake (what are the judges thinking, saying that he's the male front runner? Hardly - that belongs to Chris R.)

The most boring was Haley

Well, Chris Sligh has gone. Sad day. I don't think he would have won, but Haley should've gone before him.
Sanjaya was again safe. Surprise, surprise. Looks like Junkie won't be watching the rest of the season. :P

To be completely honest, Chris didn't -look- like an idol. I think looks should play some part in this competition.

What he lacked in looks, he made up for in a great personality. His stage presence and witty ways were highly enjoyable.

Sanjaya's safe again! :D I was happy with the results tonight. Chris Sligh has been consistently bad the last several weeks. He and Haley are the worst and made for a fitting Bottom Two. Next week is Haley's turn.

If Sanjaya wasn't going, I was hoping it would be Chris S. He was funny, but I hate singers with lisps, his performance of "Everything She Does Is Magic" was pretty bad, and I never felt he had good stage presence. I always found myself visually bored watching him. I think it might have been his weight, but he looked ackward up there to me. However Meat Loaf, who is a big guy, doesn't look ackward on stage to me. So I don't know. Maybe it was the hair? It deffinatley made his face look bigger. I've seen pictures of him with short hair and he looked better like that, if looks had anything to do with his downfall.

I didn't think Phil belonged in the bottom 3. I'm not a huge fan of him, but he gave a great performance on Tuesday. Probably my second favorite from him so far.

As much as I love Haley, I agree with everyone that she should probably be the next to go. American Idol has always been about huge voices and I really love Haley's voice, but she isn't a power house like many of the other contestants.

Don't get me started on Sanjaya. It just makes me... outraged! lol. But props to Ryan Seacrest for making fun of the hair. Where can I get a wig like that?

All the Sanjaya haters should at least check out some of his studio recordings -- they have pop star written all over them. If only he sounded as good on stage as he does in the studio: http://downloads.americanidol.com/genre ... =17&page=c

Alright, okay, I am ready to give up here. Just checking and saw that Sanjaya was in the top vote getters again, because of those silly little 'tween and teenyboppers, whose parents let them have cell phones with unlimited text messaging.

Chris Sligh deserved to get cut, if it wasn't Sanjaya. Was surprised that Phil was in the bottom three again. He needs to get a better choice of song and with next week being the week that everyone gets to sing a Tony Bennett song, it should be pretty interesting.

Read an interview with Mr. Malakar and his dream is to sing a Tony Bennett song on national television, so maybe he will get his wish and then get cut. As long as he doesn't try to sing "I Left My Heart in San Francisco".

Chris Richardson and Sanjaya, along with Haley are the three weak links right now. Gina and Jordin proved they have what it takes, and LaKisha and Melinda are the cream of the crop. I think that people are overlooking the talent that Blake Lewis has. He has taken older songs and updated them to sound like new music, and I think that is why the judges like him so much.

My final four still stands as Blake, Jordin, LaKisha, and Melinda.

As stated before it is Tony Bennett week next week, and I hope that everyone is in good voice, and make the right choices for their numbers.

That's only because they fix the voices for studio recordings. Whether you have talent or not, the majority of today's artists are majorly tweaked when it comes to their studio recordings. Plus, his recordings still don't even compare when it comes to all the other contestants.

But in the end, it's all a matter of opinion. :D

Yes, that happens, but I'm not convinced that AI is doing it for their's -- or at least not heavily. Plenty of them still sound off in their recordings and sometimes even worse (just listen to Chris Richardson's from this week). There's a difference between studio singing and live singing. Besides, this competition is set up to look for the best pop voices, a big part of which is studio recording.

My internet is running extremely slow for some reason, but I was able to listen to the snippet of Sanjaya singing "Bathwater." I dissagree with Prince Ali because even though all studio recordings have been rendered and tweaked so that they sound as good as possible, Sanjaya still sings like Sanjaya. It's not like Jenifer Lopez doing "Jenny From The Block" where there are so many effects on her voice that if her name wasn't in the song, I would have no clue it was her. Maybe if I could hear the other clips, I might hear what Aaron is hearing, but I don't. He still sounds the same. "Bathwater" was his best vocal performance in my opinion, but the recording was still below my expectations for Idol contestants this far along. I wouldn't buy any music from him or someone who sings like him. His voice is too soft and, dare I say, bland for my tastes. I like people with a special quality to their voice. Sanjaya doesn't have anything that appeals to me and I have a hard time seeing what appeals to other people. I think he is creepy looking with his big eyes and smile, he talks more like a girl than a guy (not necessarily a bad thing, but just kind of weird and offputting), he reminds me of Michael Jackson, he appears to have little personality, and there isn't anything special about his voice. I think you could walk into any high school choir and find a freshman boy who can sing just like Sanjaya. I'm a pretty modest person and I don't like to toot my own horn, but I could sing better than Sanjaya. And I watched so many good performers get turned away, but for whatever reason he was let through. No offense intended to the two forum members actively rooting for Sanjaya, but I don't see what you see. If I could call to vote against Sanjaya, you can bet that my finger would be on redial all night.

No offense taken. I can definitely understand why a lot of people wouldn't like Sanjaya. He's clearly not the best singer in the competition. I also think that he's clearly not the worst, though, so what I can't understand is the intensity of people's dislike for him (people in the general sense, not referring to the people here per se). I don't think Sanjaya should win, but I do think he should go a lot further. As has already been said, it's all a matter of preference, but it is frustrating to see so much criticism leveled at him, at least some of which I consider to be unfair.

And yes, I'm way too invested in this TV show. :P
