The first bonus feature on the Pirates II bonus disc, followed by the "According to Plan" documentary and the Disneyland Premiere. All three features were surprisingly indepth, and didn't sugercoat any part of the production. We see the creators stressed out, panicing and at times pretty much losing it. I give these bonus features 10/10.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest: Audio Commentary with Writers Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio.

Well, as a follow up to the greatest most informative commentary ever recorded, I'm glad to say it doesn't disappoint. They give us even more info of the story, and loved how they explained some of the stuff they wrote and what was improvised by the actors or changed by the director and/or the company. And if I ever decided to write a screenplay of a sequel some point in time, I'll use many of the great tips they fave. Just as good if not better than the original.

Also saw the bloopers, theme park featurettes, and trailers.

• The Plimsouls - "A Million Miles Away," Music Video - A-quality music video, an absolute 80's classic

Buy this DVD - these featurettes are some of the best Video bonus features I've ever watched! Lions Gate sure knows how to make a retrospective featurette! These interviews are beyond fascinating. Then, I watched both American Psycho trailers, all 3 TV Spots, and the bonus trailers for Undead, The Rules of Attraction, High Tension, and the Swimming with Sharks: 10th Anniversary Special Edition DVD promo

Watched the gallery on my Chronological Donald dvd. It was quite interesting to see what comics looked like back in the 30's-40's. The commentary by Leonard Maltin was nice as well.

I watched the FilmMaker's Journal from Volume 2 of the True-Life Adventures. It's pretty fascinating how the makers of these films accomplished the tasks of filming the wild animals.

Like Escapay, I (re)watched the bonus features for Doctor Who: City of Death last night.

It's a good documentary, written with a lot of wit and style covering almost everything about the making of this story, from the original draft to the final studio shooting. It was cool how we heard the initial plot (I don't know why but the brief summaries in this retelling really crack me up. "They escape" being used lots of times, with ever amusing effect)

This was bumped to a 2 disc release bacause all of the bonus material was produced and bitrate budgeted for, and then they found unwipe tapes of the studio recording sessions. It was considered such an important find, they had to be included on the DVD. So those extra minutes gave us a 2 disc set.

And I've never watched those studio recording tapes... until last night. And it was one of the most interesting things I've seen on DVD for a long time. Shame about the picture (check out the unrestored version on the closing credits to see what they had to work with) but it really is facinating. Especially watching Tom Baker, who's both charming and amusing (such as the scenes in the art gallery where he apologises for accidently hitting a supporting actor with his elbow) and grumpy and agitated (he looses he rag a few times). The production notes subtitles help put what you are watching into context.

I wish I'd seen this sooner.

Last DVD I watched with complete bonus materials was the Criterion Collection's La Bete Humaine (1938). But I've also just had a "sniff" at the materials of More Silly Symphonies and one of the True-Life Adventures volumes.
