Ratings were bad, unfortunately. 1.3 in the demo, 4.00 million viewers overall. Wasn't expecting that, but hopefully they'll improve next week, now everyone knows the show's returned. I thought maybe it was the norm for the first show back to be a little down, but I checked and it was pretty high when returning last season. Then again, the combo of Ursula/Cruella/Maleficent advertisements were probably more exciting than, well, Hell. Shame, too, since it was the 100th episode.

Wow those are super low. I know the Dark Swan storyline was not well received so that may have lost a lot of viewers. And honestly, while I liked the episode, it wasn't really 100th episode material, which honesty I didn't even remember until you mentioned it. There was nothing about it that screamed 100th episode. The episode was mostly Regina-centric and while she's one of the more popular characters of the show, the 100th episode shouldn't focus on just her. Also the cameos weren't really anything too special. Neal is no one's favorite character, the Blind Witch is a minor character, Pan wasn't well received, and Cora's return isn't that big of a deal because she shows up all the time.

I wasn't overly impressed by the episode. I thought it was fine, but there really wasn't anything too interesting going on. Let's hope the next episode is better.

He wasn't? I thought Pan was pretty popular. The Pan arc has a lot of naysayers though, mostly for being stuck with boring backgrounds and the love triangle between Emma-Hook-Neal most of that half-season.

You're right, Robbie Kay's portrayal of him was liked. It was the Neverland arc that wasn't popular, because the cast was basically stuck in the jungle for 3A and no one really cared for the subplots on Neal, and Charming being poisoned. Nor was the predictable revelation that Pan was Rumple's father particularly well-received, because it started the whole trend of villains being related to the characters (Zelena as Regina's sister and Ingrid as Emma's "sister" and foster mother).

Hades ended up being much better than I thought he'd be. The promo pic made him look like a dweeby comic relief. But seems like he's gonna be really menacing. Though its a shame they arent going for a more neutral depiction like in the original myths.

Yea I like how the Underworld is more like Limbo/Purgatory.
I thought the number of characters being in this episode, and what story it began, was 100th episode-worthy.
I didn't predict Peter Pan would be Rumpelstiltskin's character. You really predicted that, JeanGreyForever? At what point in the show did you?

I honestly don't remember, but my views were probably influenced from reading recaps and comments online. Most of the time I never have time to come up with theories, because other viewers have already figured out the plot for the current storyline. Like the Zelena-Marion swap was predicted way before the actual episode was released, to name an example.

Ok. Wow, it's amazing you predicted that and it's really amazing people predicted the Zelena and Marian switch when that switch felt like the writers put it in at the last minute without planning for it to be that way for long at all.

Yeah, it was predicted way back at the end of season 3. I personally thought that was the case, and it didn't feel sudden to me at all.

This was an okay episode.
I was mostly surprised, because I thought Hercules and Megara would be recurring characters throughout this arc, but I'm okay with them being one episode only. I have a feeling Megara might appear again in flashback, maybe to explain why she was there when Hercules fought Cerberus the first time. I didn't care for Megara, tbh; the actress and character were too weak for me, and I wish they had had her be connected to Hercules already, rather than just meeting. I was happy with the way they veered more closely to the myth with Hercules while still having touches of the Disney movie. It makes sense Hades losing Hercules from his realm would be the turning point in dealing with Emma and co.
I was thinking about Cruella and what her unfinished business might be. I mean, Pan and Cora's u.b. most likely has to do with abandoning Rumpel and Zelena, respectively, but Cruella? All I can think of is that she didn't get to kill the Author? I think Cora could have a small chance at not ending up in 'the bad place,' but Pan and Cruella definitely would. Even though I'd like to have seen the Huntsman in this arc, it makes sense for him (and Ingrid) not to be here because they had epiphanies right at the end of their lives.
Loved seeing young Snow again and that we had a flashback in that inbetween area of her life with Regina. Please let Rumpel be left in the Underworld, writers! Please!

People really saw the Zelena/Marian switch way ahead of the episode? Huh.
Well I thought this latest episode was good!
Hercules is not as hot as I think he should be but he was pretty darn cute.

Yes, yes, and yes. Megara was completely changed from her character from the Disney movie! And in turned out bad!
I don't know if the writers actually put thought into Cruella having unfinished business, but maybe. I think the whole "Emma needs to be redemmed after killing someone" is bull. She feels sorry for what she did, and she doesn't need to be saved, unless there's some magic that can't go right unless she's purified but her being purified that way really makes no sense. It just sounds like b.s.

LOL! I like Rumpel, he just needs to become good like Regina and you'll like him, too, right? Well anyway, I couldn't tell if this younger Snow White was the same child actress they chose for her in all previous flashbacks of her as a child. She just looks so different and grown up now if that's really her! She did a great job of acting like Ginnifer's Snow though, just like the first child Snow actress, or the same one, whoever.

I think it was the same actress and yeah she's the closest match Ive seen of child actor with their adult counterpart(the worse being August lol.)
Meg's my favorite Disney female character so yeah she was kinda meh. I didnt think she was terrible but its obvious the writers just werent interested in her as a character. They just stuck her in there so they could have their Hercules episode. I thought Herc was really cute though.
Also this shows concept of the afterlife... I guess everyone's happy afterlife is different. It was Olympus for Herc. Ingrid's was being with her sisters...
Hades actor is starting to overdo the evil... dial it back down a bit buddy...I was hoping theyd go more subtle with this version of Hades but I guess not.

It really bothers me when David calls Snow, Mary Margaret. And I really can't stand how they have to use her full name. They never call her Snow White, just Snow, but when it comes to her Storybrooke name, they always have to say Mary Margaret.
It's funny you were discussing that two weeks ago. It seems like the writers heard you! From now on, Mary Margaret wants to be Snow White again!
And yes, Bailee Madison has always been Young Snow White.

Honestly, I love he's like his Disney counterpart because it's being done very well. I mean this guy is sarcastic, threatening and man he kinda embodies Hades from the movie. Not an easy thing to do and all.

I liked how Hercules played into the story, but the inclusion of Meg seemed rather pointless and I didn't like how she was portrayed. Where was feisty, sarcastic Meg? This Meg was sadly devoid of any real personality.

Oh my gosh the whole of the last episode was just yes yes yes YES ! Proper old school Once ! To me, that was more the 100th episode rather than the prior one.
And finally finally the writers have listened RE Mary Margaret / Snow. I loved her in this episode, and it was great to have Ginny actually featured again. I wonder if she had a hand in the episode at all ? She's been quite vocal about her dislike of her recent storyline, and as far back as the show has been on she's voiced her dislike of Mary Margaret as a person. Wonder what made the writers finally listen ?
Hope they get Young Snow back for a few more episodes; did she only shoot just one ?

*Spoiler-heavy*
Plot-heavy episode. I did like the little they did with Cruella, and Regina visiting Daniel's grave. I'm not defending post-Milah Rumpel at all (and his murder of his wife was disgusting and not justified in any way), but Milah was and always will be a huge bitch. I cannot stand her. Still, I felt sorry for her being pushed into the pool of souls. Rumpel continues to be irredeemable. It seemed unspoken that Rumpel was telling Milah to give his love to Bae because Rumpel will never end up there if he does die. Come to think of it, Bae was a real pill, too. They really were a perfect family of suck.
My favorite scene was Rumpel explaining Emma and Milah's connection to one another.

Oh, and Hook hanging on a hook...

Not surprised that Belle is pregnant. Anyway, does this episode in a way explain why Rumpel would want Cinderella's child (although at the time that info. was revealed, it seemed like he wanted just to have the Savior owe him a favor in the future--since he had prophecy)? I liked that the writers remembered he almost had a child with Cora.
I don't get how Hades can just put living people's names on graves and force them to be dead though...
