OMG! I'm just super-excited! Gothel actually looks just as I pictured her.... I remember seeing storyboard drawings of her, and she goes to a window and says "Go outside? Why, Rapunzel...." I don't remember if that was in the rough-cut leaked trailer or what, I think so, but it wasn't in the final trailer.... Anyway, she still looks a bit like that from the look of that toy and her descriptions.... Only a bit more sinister (since it was just a quick storyboard drawing and all).

The trailer would be a lot better if it is called, "Rapunzel," besides, "Tangled." Maybe then, it will be pleased by both boys and girls alike, and they would be looking forward on seeing it. At least that there IS a, "Rapunzel," trailer, besides the, "Tangled," trailer, online instead of in theaters before the feature presentation of, "Toy Story 3." For the record, I give the trailer a grade, "C+." However, if they change the name back to, "Rapunzel," and brought the name, "Rapunzel," for the teaser trailer against, "Tangled," then I give the trailer a grade, "Infinite A+."
When the trailer ended, I could hear a boy a couple of rows behind me ask his mom "Who's Tangled?"

To tell you the truth, after the trailer of Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)," was played at the movie theater, which I went to last Tuesday night, my sister-in-law's cousin says Marco, the others down a few rows replied Polo, and I whispered loudly, "I miss Rapunzel." My brother Chris laughed after what I have said. Oh, and after the movie, "Toy Story 3," I asked my brother Nick about the trailer of Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)," he said that did not like it one bit.

I don't believe it does ... although I don't recall for sure. That was a month ago now, and I wasn't taking notes at the time. It does begin with a fairly long expository narration by Flynn.
OK. Thanks for the info.

Today was hat building day, and about all I can tell you is that everyone is turning and burning on Tangled, that the new shots I saw of the movie look real good, and I keep being reminded of the settings and color saturation of the 3-strip Technicolor Adventures of Robin Hood every time that I see it ...

***

In my dream last night/this morning, I dreamt that we had a bootleg DVD of Tangled!!! It was edited; like, it had some scenes missing... haha. And I think Rapunzel went to visit Kristin Chenowith... :p lol. But in my dream, I thought that the music was amazing... :)

I think I've mentioned this here before, but I've actually had people ask me why they named the character Tangled; couldn't they get the rights to the name Rapunzel?

My roommate's daughter got really upset when she first heard that they changed the title, because she thought they weren't going to do Rapunzel anymore. She calmed down once her mother explained that Tangled was Rapunzel. Of course, she hasn't seen the trailer yet...

Well on the upside they didnt use the Miley Cyrus "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" song as they did in the incomplete trailer. I have no idea what song it was that they replaced it with but it didnt sound any better.

What, there's no room anymore for Snow White and Jasmine??? :( And the dolls...Cinderella doesn't really look like herself (could be the hair), and Aurora looks a little off. Love Rapunzel's freckles!

I was thinking about that the other day...

Canada is a bilingual country... in my province it's mostly French and I was wondering what the French title would be if English Canada keeps the ''Tangled'' title.... will it still be Raiponce ?

Dear mawnck,

could you tell me if Tangled will be an epic movie or not?
I read that it's like Emperor's New Groove...
I hope Tangled/Rapunzel will be more epic than Emperor's New Groove...

Thank you very much by advance.

I love too much Rapunzel dolls!

I think that comparison was being used to describe the humor found in the movie, not the movie itself, which is more of a traditional fairy tale.

As far as epic, I think they've described some big set pieces. I'm not really sure what you mean by "epic" though, but I don't think this movie would fit the traditional definition.

I would say he's talking epic as in, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King type epic. Not like, The Odyssey type epic. In which case, I really hope Tangled is.

I agree with jpanimation. It's not "epic" by my definition either.

When I think "epic" I think of sweeping visuals, cast of thousands, overwhelming villain, world hangs in the balance ... and that ain't Tangled. Tangled is primarily about a young girl with an agenda and the roguish but kindhearted guy who helps her with it.

Very exciting fighting and pursuing scenes, breathtaking scenery (or it looked like it will be once it's finished), some heavy psychological undertones that may sail right by the little ones, a powerful ending that will leave viewers bawling all over their 3D glasses ... but no, not exactly epic.

If it makes you feel better, I would compare Tangled's "epic factor" to Cinderella rather than ENG.
