It's a shame they had to cut that scene. It added a nice sense of mystery and it revealed more about their mom's efforts to figure out why Elsa was born with powers. It also explained where that scarf came from and why they hadn't been wearing it until now.

I agree. I think it should've stayed in the film.

If the film takes place in ~1820-1830 since photography was a new technology then why did the guards in the first film used crossbows instead of guns?

Color photography wasn’t invented until way later, so I always took it as a painting even if they didn’t stylize it enough to make it seem like one.

The gun situation I’m sure was intentional just so they didn’t have to show guns as most wouldn’t know they existed during that time.

I don't understand that reasoning. Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas and Tarzan didn't have a problem showing guns.

^ I think if those movies were made today, they wouldn't include guns, what with all the gun violence these days.

its part of Disney's woke policy. No guns, lots of PC representation, lots of empowered female leads.

Which is fine, but its a bit annoying when it screws with historical accuracy.

Zootopia had guns and not to mention MCU and SW films.

Why did they cut that? One of the most common criticisms of the original was that their parents were very callous and reckless in how they handled the situation with the two sisters. This little scene undoes all that. They should have kept it.

I love this song! It has such a lovely, breezy folk sound to it. It's so much better than "Some Things Never Change". I think it works better narrative-wise too; it highlights how much Anna cares about her kingdom which makes her decision to flood it later on much more difficult and devastating. It also parallels nicely to Elsa's "Into the Unknown" with Anna expressing in her song how she feels at home whereas Elsa in hers how she feel out of place. It also centers Anna as the protagonist like the original did. Not to mention, the sequence feels more traditional and grand in scale whereas "Some Things Never Change" feels too comedic and restrained.

Oh yes, that showing Anna a memory by Elsa was the best thing created for this film! It should have stayed in!

"Home" is really nice with the folk sound, but it doesn't include any of the other characters, so I'm ok with the change, I just wish it was changed to a better song than "Some Things Never Change".

Yes, "Home" is a really nice song. I also like that "Some Things Never Change" includes other characters, like "For the First Time in Forever" did in the first film, but after watching "Home" with the visuals that would accompany it, I almost wish it would've replaced it.

I agree, this scene could've helped us have a much better concept of them.

Both of these scenes were rightfully cut, in my opinion. "I Wanna Get This Right" was too silly and "Elsa's Dream" was too small in scale for what it needed to accomplish. Replacing it with "Into the Unknown" was the right call.

This was said earlier, but the theme park expansions are definitely the reason why Disney wouldn't go through with destroying Arendelle. I almost can't blame Disney for this decision.

I blame them for not thinking about a storyline that the question of destroying Arendelle isn't brought up and then nothing really happens. I saw the film again today and I think I'm gonna enjoy it less and less with each viewing, everything just felt weird, the pacing, the songs... and the most frustrating thing is that I see a tremendous amount of potential that just doesn't go anywhere, like it's a lot of good ideas that eventually don't fit as a whole and just create a huge mess.

It's kind of interesting in regards to how I viewed the other Revival films, to a lesser extent the same thing happened to me with the original Frozen and Zootopia or even with Pixar's Inside Out and Incredibles 2, and the opposite happened to me with Tangled and Moana.
