Yeah, I'm surprised they accept it as a live-action movie just because that's how Disney presents the film when it's clear it's animated.

We are at Hollywood Studios right now, and the hubby canceled our Frozen Sing-Along Fast passes because we don't think they added Frozen 2 songs, so I guess pretty soon, huh?

I gasped at the lack of Best Animated Feature nomination. I guess this year they wanted to spread the love around a little bit? I haven’t seen Frozen II yet, but I didn’t like Toy Story 4 very much.

Considering that this thread is still going, I wanted to discuss The Next Right Thing. From a structural standpoint, it's pretty much the riskiest song in the movie. Not only because of it's sheer poignancy, but also because of it's placement. We all know that typically there's not many songs that late in Disney movies, aside from villain songs. So it pretty much faces the same hurdle that If I Never Knew You from Pocahontas did: A grave, poignant song late in the Movie (despite that both songs are not particularly comparable, they still serve a similar function).
As for me, aside for these aforementioned reasons, the song still worked in the movie. It never felt too sappy nor superfluous. It's not my favorite song, but I thought it worked within the story and never felt that it was too sentimental or too grave.

Not everyone thinks that song is poignant. I guess you do.
You know, when I first saw this I thought it was worthy sequel to the original. After seeing it again and some time passing, and some thinking, I don't feel that way anymore. Sorry guys, I actually think this film sucks. It's just rather dismal and kind of anti the fun and the points of the original. That's just my opinion.

The official social media accounts for Disney Japan are erroneously claiming that Frozen 2 was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars. Someone must have sent them the wrong publicity materials. How embarrassing.

Lol you're so right. Although Frozen II not getting a nomination is still pretty shocking. I'm not sure how Disney thought for even a second that WIR2 had a chance of winning the Oscar...still surprised it even got a nomination when Frozen II didn't.

Yeah the song did not work for me at all. I can see people fast forwarding through it.

I also agree with you. For me the song works in the movie too, and I love the lyrics and its message. It was one of the things I did like about the movie.
