Personally, when I've already seen an extra on a previous release, it almost counts as nothing to me when it's carried over. So, technically speaking, not a barebones release, but it's obviously a barebones effort.

I'm not getting how this particular conversation deserves exclamation points. :P

What with Google Glass and rumoured iWatches, I'm looking forward to Disney's Third Screen!

We a creating a society of monsters.

Oh.. how this will back fire..
Second Screen Live - ruining the art of the theatrical film-viewing experience for a whole new generation.

Wow. Second screen was only ever good for behind the scenes material for blu-ray. Now we're intentionally breeding ADHD here.

For me, it counts only if it gets and HD/Widescreen upgrade. If they're gonna have the old documentary, no sense in it being windowboxed like on the old release.

When I go to a movie theater and someone turns on there cell phone, people usually riot. This is by far one of the dumbest ideas Disney has done in a theater experience type thing.

EDIT

I wonder if it's BYOI (Bring Your Own Ipad :P )

It seems the 2-Movie Collection of Return to the Sea and Ariel's Beginning will be out on November 19th. The DVD collection is listed on Amazon, though the Blu ray isn't listed for some reason.

That is sloppy cover art

It actually reminds me of the Mulan 2 movie DVD Pack that was released to tie into the Beijing Olympics.

Really, no Blu-ray so far? ... yet the Europeans get lucky (no hate). But as far as I'm concerned, I have no plans in getting these films (in HD, no less) anyway. ... sorry, I just don't like them as much as years ago. Problem with growing up is finding many flaws.

Sometimes Amazon is just weird like that. Take Twilight Forever Box Set, the DVD showed up and the Blu ray didn't show up until a week later.

Umm I'm not quite sure how my comment pissed off you guys, was obviously a misunderstanding as stated. The initial extras on the original Platinum release weren't that great...they were good, but not half as fulfilling as say, the Aladdin release. So having those and a couple of new bits and bobs aren't great for such a lauded film. Felt totally underwhelmed by the release.

But thank you Duster and disneyboy for your kind words.

So, what you really meant was "so empty of good extras"... I wasn't pissed, dear, I just felt you were being unfair.

The only thing I can find so far is that Best Buy will have a Lunch Box. I imagine Wal-Mart will have some exclusive though it is odd Wal-Mart's website didn't post anything about it yet

Here's the link to the Lunch Box, but sadly there is no picture

I found a picture of the Lunchbox, however it's very very tiny

I had a feeling that Disney wouldn't drop that release. ... in order to be consistent with Lion King and Cinderella sequels (outside of putting in 2 films in one disc, separate discs, etc).

The US covers for the sequels are the same we got for TLM/TLMII on DVD, minus Melody...

So does the US version of The Little Mermaid Blu ray without a doubt has the timing issue with Flounder during the Part of Your World scene.

In Romania, the cover artwork used for the box-set is the same. However, the only difference is that they included the first TLM film and Ariel's Beginning. For some reason, they didn't produce a Romanian dub for Return to the Sea.

rotfl I read those comic pages a week or two ago. I didn't know till now a slideshow video of it with voices existed and it makes the comic pages even more hilarious.
