You're right - I had never heard Deems Taylor's actual voice before this video. I have to say I prefer Burton's narration, but that's only because it's what I've become used to. I definitely see what you mean about them not sounding the same, but I think Burton did a fine job nonetheless.

Well, I never owned the DVD and have only ever had a VHS copy. Renting the Blu-ray was the first time I had ever heard Corey Burton's narration and suffice to say, it was a major shock. I don't think I can ever get used to it.

Could someone please tell me if the U.S. Fantasia / Fantasia 2000 2 movie collection is region free or not as the outer packaging and disc state that it is "A" but on this website http://regionfreemovies.com/bluray/Fant ... Dvds%29/US it's region free...?

I don't really want to take a chance and buy it unless it definitely works. Same with the U.S. Dumbo http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Dumbo-Blu ... gionCoding. Will that work on a UK PS3 too as the outer packaging says region free "ABC" but the disc says "A"? Thanks.

Dumbo is region free because it says ABC, But Fantasia works only in the US since it says just A

Actually I imported the 'Region A' 2 movie collection from the US to Australia (which is region B) and it is indeed region free.

A lot of studios used to show just the region for wherever the product was released (in this case Region A), even if the title was region free - luckily this is something Disney has smartened up to the last couple of years (though apparently after Fantasia was released), and now correctly show if their titles are region free or not.[/b]

Hey, you think it would have been cool if the Blu-ray had the 1982 Irwin Kostal composition as an optional audio track? Because I do.

I just found this at FYE and bought it, Ive been searching for it forever!!!! BUT. the shrink wrap doesn't have the 'made in Mexico' stamp on the back and there's no white sticker on the top of the case. Is it fake? everything else looks perfect, the stickers are on the slip-cover and everything. I haven't opened it yet because I'm thinking about possibly returning it if I find out its a bootleg. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
BTW, this is the American blu-ray version I'm talking about.

First, congrats on managing to spot a copy of a release that should have lasted longer than the Diamond Edition titles (less than 6 months?! What the-)
Second, I wouldn't (fully) worry about the sticker situation. I tend to get more than one Blu-ray that has no top sticker (I do hate those stickers.) and as for Made to Mexico... Huh. Didn't recall seeing that on my copy.
Now if you bought it from the internet, now that's a different story, as that is a 50/50 situation. But if it's from an FYE store (and knowing FYE, you might had paid it at a full retail price and was purely a new copy, not used as that store tends to carry those... most of the time, they wouldn't be carrying bootlegs.)
After you feel confident, definitely enjoy this Blu-ray, as it's the best that I've ever seen (having a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound would be a better (though not mandatory) recommendation, 'cause wow, both of these films' soundtracks sound terrific!)

I decided to just open it and try to enter the DMR code to see if it was recognized, and it was! I doubt a bootleg would have a legit code in it. yay
And yeah, I paid full retail price for it-almost $50. For me it was worth it, I've seen it sell for way higher on Ebay. They actually had 2 copies, which really surprised me. Anyways, I'm watching it now and it looks and sounds amazing. I'm very happy to have finally got my hands on it . And I agree with you about the 6 month release thing-what the hell? and why? lol

Ok.... I own a few blu ray discs (pretty much combo packs where bonus features were exclusive to blu rays, leaving dvds bare), but up until now, I didn't own a player.

I recently bought an external blu ray player that hooks up onto my computer. I have the Fantasia movies on blu ray, and had read the review on this very site for this set. AND INDEED: the Fantasia 2000 disc DOES have A LOT of bonus features not accessible from the discs menu. Pretty much, its like the entire Fantasia Anthology third disc is there... and the two making-of documentaries, one for each film.

WHAT????? I sure am glad I can access these features. Disney: what were you thinking???

For us technologically challenged, how can these features be accessed? Can they be accessed on a Blu-ray player, or do I need a computer that plays Blu-ray discs? Is that a common feature of new computers anyway (my computer is a few years old, so I'm not even aware if Blu-ray compatibility is becoming standard)? Whether the features are viewable on a Blu-ray player or computer, are they easy to access or do I need to be computer savvy to unlock them? Thanks for any help.

You need to crack the disc's protection in order to play back the files. It's not hard, there are programs which do it automatically, some of them even free.

You can't access them from a BD player.

BD drives are not very common on cheap computers, you can find them in more expensive machines but maybe not even then.

It was. I got it from eBay 2-3 years ago

It was. I got it at a thrift store this past summer for $.95. I thought it was the original soundtrack but after I bought it I saw it was the re-record.

It doesn't credit Irwin on the outside case. The clue that it is his is that it says "digitally recorded" on the cover. The original soundtrack was not digitally recorded.
