Glad that featurette had a quick shot of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, as I am convinced his song inspired “This Is The Thanks I Get.”

This section of the Real3D poster would have made a nice poster in itself. I like the scenery and Asha's pose there. I think Asha looks better there than in the Japanese or American posters where she reaches out to Star.

Why does every other trailer beside the American one sell the movie better? Disney's marketing team need to learn from Japan and China.

Listened to "This Is the Thanks I Get?!" a few times in order to be familiar and get used to the tune of the song since like many other people, I was expecting it to sound more villainous and dark, but you know what, it's growing on me. I like this new take on a "Villain Song", more upbeat but clearly shows how narcissistic he is in the lyrics. If you compare this song with "This Wish" in it's tune, they're very different with Asha's song being sincere and slow while King Magnifico's is a bit cynical and fast-paced. It's cool that it complements their personalities and shows their true character which is what I like in musicals. Just from the footage released for this song, I'm really going to like the visuals and expressions King Magnifico will be making, even outside of the song, so deliciously evil! Also, during his 3rd verse of the song, it reminds me of the Onceler's song in the movie The Lorax, "How Bad Can I Be?", with how his tone shifts and the semi-rapping in it.

Actually, now that you say that; the idea of Asha and King Magnifico having different sounds to their songs is actually pretty smart. Asha is slower, sincere and grand in its orchestrations while King Magnifico is more cynical and modern sounding, only with his "I swore I'd never do this" section being the more classical, haunting exception. The stark contrast between the two characters and songs, was possibly the idea that Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice had in mind when they were writing those two songs.

Plus, in my opinion "This Is The Thanks I Get?!" is a much better villain song than "Mine, Mine, Mine", "Yodel-Adle-Eedle-Idle-Oo" and "Mother Knows Best".

I was gonna say the same thing! :D But instead of Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice, I was thinking of Jennifer Lee since she really likes the theme of duality in the movies she writes, most notably in Frozen with Anna and Elsa's different personalities and their relationship with each other.

Also, when I checked the credits of "This Wish" on Spotify, it gave credit to another singer and songwriter alongside Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice which is JP Saxe, the ex-boyfriend of Julia Michaels. Just wanted to share that because it sounds interesting. :milkbuds:

I like that poster and the shots of Magnifico in that trailer. And yes, it`s easy to see the resemblance between Pine and Magnifico (and yes, I admit, I like Pine for obvious reasons ;))

Agreed. It`s a pity that it`s not clear. But perhaps it will become a poster?

Buck's observation about loving Disney villains whose villainy is apparent from the start has me thinking that Magnifico's transformation won't feel so jarring in the context of the film itself.

Seeing the upbeat song play against some of the animation, where we see Magnifico actually looking and behaving like a baddie, also has me thinking that the song will feel more classically villainish situated in the film.

750 movie theaters will have an early access screening of Wish on Saturday, November 18th at 4PM ET only: https://whatsondisneyplus.com/disneys-w ... ated-film/.

Looks like Disney is showing they have confidence in Wish as they're doing the same thing they did with Frozen when they preview screened it the weekend before release 10 years ago.

Disney seems very confident in this. Judging by trailer view it will definitely not be another Strange World. So crisis averted I guess.

According to Box Office Pro, Wish's opening weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) will make around 45-65 million dollar.

Some additional pics from the Art of Wish book here and here. Some may be spoilery.

Also, it appears that at one point during the development of the movie the Star was able to shapeshift into a human. I haven't read the book myself yet so I don't know how true it is or not, but people speculate the Star may have been intended as a love interest for Asha. There are concept art pics of human Star and Asha. I think it would have been an interesting idea to explore, but maybe a bit too similar to Raya.

Asha father name is Tomás.

I like those concept art at lot, sad that the final movie looks bland visually.

I don't get why they say Asha mom clothes are amazigh inspired, they don't look amazigh, looks more romani as I said in a previous post.

Anyways I send positive energy that the movie will end up being good and looking visually good in the big screen.

Also why they keep mentioning that the mom is north african as something weird when this is based in the Al Andalus, it's pretty normal in that time

The pre-release ticket sales have been really good where insiders are speculating that Wish may end up being a Moana or Big Hero 6 size success. It may go up or stay the same in the coming weeks, so we'll see.

Count me in on that one. Movie trailers/other promo footage on YouTube are stuck in compressed 1080p while the films themselves are always 4k in theaters. So, I have no doubts that Wish will look stunning on the big screen and not "ugly" or "unfinished" as some people online has claimed.

This is the most hyped I've been for a WDAS film since Moana which is a really good sign in my book.
