I don't have a problem with that as long as Mulan is not portrayed as a one-dimensional caricature (which she hasn't been so far). The fact is masculine or gender non-conforming lesbians exist, they are not inferior to feminine lesbians and they deserve representation too.

Hm. I was so sure Mulan was in love with Phillip, not Aurora. We shall see who the gay characters are.

I didn't like how the writers said they were doing this because they "want the show to reflect the world as it is now". Uh, gay relationships have existed way before the way the world is now. Since GREECE for crying out loud.

And if there's any Disney character that could be gay on the show, it's Merida and Elsa. They each don't have a guy/girl, like Aurora & Mulan.

I wonder if maybe the writers know season 5 could be the final season (depending). That may be why they're willing to lose viewers because of anti-LGBT outrage, and why older characters they haven't touched in a while are appearing... Either way, I'm glad. I enjoyed Mulan/Aurora's chemistry in season 2.

If Disney Channel shows like Good Luck Charlie and I Didn't Do It have LGBT characters, I don't know why people are acting so surprised about this...

I think some people view this as being an unnecessary and forced inclusion of a LGBT storyline. I honestly think we need to see the show first before we make any judgement. I think we last saw Mulan in season two (I may be wrong), but there was an obvious depiction of her affection for Aurora. I don't think this comes out of the blue in any way. Still, let's watch the show first before writing anything off.

And, I know, I'm preaching to the choir here.

Another clip with Merida! So happy they added the wisps and so happy that it looks like that this is DURING Brave, despite reports. But, is it me or is Amy a little too old for Merida?

have any of you head the rumor/speculation that Emma will kill a character? and that they may have brought Ruby back just to kill her off. Or that she might kill August ? I hope they are just rumors and not true.

I've heard about that speculation, but somehow I really doubt it. It's possible though. They've basically ignored Granny, Grumpy, Red, and the other townspeople for a long time, so I guess they couldn't brought her back to the forefront for a specific story reason.

If Emma killed one of her friends, there would be NO redemption for her. She would never, ever, forgive herself for something like that. ESPECIALLY with August. But Ruby too -- her mom's best friend! I'm sure Emma WILL squish some hearts, and that WILL take a toll on her, but someone from Storybrooke.... I don't know. That would change everything for her forever.

Sorry, my power went off last night around 8:08 and only just came back 30 minutes ago, so.... No OUAT for me.

it was a nice season opener. Merida was perfect!
Two things I didnt catch though:
1- why didnt the wand work for Zelina?
2-why is she envisioning Rumple? what exactly is he supposed to represent?

I liked Merida better here than in her original film.

1. The wand did work for Zelena. However as Regina correctly guessed, Zelena was greatly drained of energy from using the wand and that allowed Regina to put that magical hand-cuffy device back on her.
2. It really isn't Rumple but the Dark One. He has taken on Rumple's form since Rumple was the last host of the Dark One, plus the one Emma is most comfortable with so he can use this to exploit her further. He briefly takes on the form of a Gorgon to show that as the Dark One, has he had many hosts though.

I really enjoyed this episode, even though I'm annoyed by the lost of the memories...again.

the dark one taking Rumples form... ok I get it, though obviously its just an excuse to still use Robert Carlyle since Gold is in a coma...

I saw the second episode last night. It was a bit hard to piece together what all must've happened in the premiere--the only thing I couldn't figure out was where Zelena is right now and what happened between her and Hook?? The episode was a bit average for me. Not sure how I feel about Dark Emma right now; not sure Morrison is hitting the mark for me. I do love how Rumpel is a voice in her headthough. The actor they have for Arthur is better than I expected from the commercials though.

I think it's also one of the first times they've addressed the fact that the Dark One curse was almost cured by Belle from seasons back. So TLK wouldn't have worked again, after he chose his power--I like that little detail.

so we got the underworld, a fury and Charon, are we gonna be getting Hades soon? Hercules?Maybe for part b of the season? I hope so!!

So, I've seen the first two episodes ..... and wow, I absolutely LOVE IT ! For me, its been my favourite opener of a season, bar season 1.

Love seeing all the heroes in FTL again, feels like its been ages. I don't want to post spoilers or anything, but I'm so thrilled with the opener. Jennifer is killing it, and is wonderful as Dark Swan. I do wish though so much that Snow makes a huge impact on saving her daughter, a la the teaser trailer. It was wonderful to see mother and daughter getting ready for the ball together, and made me crave more of it ( I always have done, this just exemplified it ). More of this please Adam and Eddy !

I cannot wait for the next episode, especially after seeing in the sneak peak what DS is trying to do to Captain Hook .....
